Probably the best thing for both new and returning players in Star Rail is that events with story become permanent
Actually if you know, does some events become unavailable with time or not? Plus, it's seems like event lightcones cannot be obtained like sw 4 star lightcone and abundance lightcone from fox tales stop being available or you can get them?
@@tslex6477 version events, the ones that are available for the entire patch, become permanent but you will no longer be able to get some of the limited time rewards. So you wont be able to get the lightcones, from what i remember.

Also yes, the lightcones in the events are usually time locked, so while the event stays there, during the launch of the event there are limited rewards like the lightcones and you won't be able to get them anymore at a later date, unless they make a shop where you can buy them, but I don't think that's gonna happen

Acheron is amazing
Even the developers during the livestream of version 2.1 said that Acheron is their most impressive character so far and it took them some time to create her, they even had some problems during Acheron's ultimate because the game was crashing

I'm an Aventurine girlie (meaning, I was initially planning to pull for him only in the upcoming 2.1 patch), but even I was persuaded into pulling for Acheron when she gets released XD
23:05 Outside of the main story most of the companion missions especially the ones for the 5 star characters are 100% worth posting on YT, sometimes they're even better than the main storyline.
If you do Jingliu's companion mission off cam pitchforks will be raised!

Yeah definitely. There were a LOT of people that said how Jingliu's companion mission felt WAY more like a main story quest than just a character story. And I definitely agree with that. While it did center around her, we got way more out of it than I would've ever expected.
They added a way for players to know when companion quests and some sidequests fit in the story (the Fate Atlas).
You should 100% do a video on Kafka's quest once you reach it. Lots of LORE about the MC, but you only get some answers playing normaly, there are some videos/posts with every answer it's worth watching.
Jingliu's quest is literally part of the main story, not sure why they made it a companion quest.
Fu Xuan's has some insights about March 7th past.
The thing is Fate's Atlas doesn't include ALL the Companion Missions, like just now I was checking if Yanqing's companion mission was listed on the Atlas and I couldn't find it???? So really she should just pay attention to the character messages and see when they would initiate the Companion Missions
Ok so 2 companion story quests I'd personally love to see you play through are definitely Jingliu's (because it's more of an ending to the Xianzhou Luofu storyline than a separate story itself) and Argenti's companion story quest. Because he's Argenti. And it's super funny. Because he's Argenti.

If we are recommending Jingliu's companion mission, then we would have to recommend Yanqing's, Bailu's and Dan Heng's as well

We have a friend who is in the middle of the story update who actually ate the spoiler while watching the trailer live
when you get into Xianzhou story make sure you check out the timeline in-game, so you won't get confuse which quest you do chronologically, Xianzhou is a bit more complicated because so many companion quest that involve directly to the main quest ( such as Yanqing, Jingliu and kafka one ) . it might be a bit overwhelming for you because Xianzhou has a ton of lore bomb left behind essay notes here and there without fully explain in the main story.
good news; Gallagher is on Acheron's banner, so you can get both! and if you get unlucky, there is an event in 2.1 with a 4star selector where Gallagher is one of the options

and about the character stories....
1. The character story that I was most unprepared for... was Yukong's companion mission (it was really good - I cried)
2. The character story quest that was a little bit comedic is Yanqing's companion mission (because "someone" was in it and their interactions were great xD - "they" were just being badass)
3. But the character story quest that I loved the most was definitely Jingliu's companion mission (it was amazing - a real rollercoaster if I say so myself)
All the story related events are still in the game and u can even trace when they take in the story via Fate's Atlas(its in the quest screen) so use that if u want to play it in sequence with how it came all out couse it does make alot of sense that way.
Of course u can also skip right ahead to Penacony once u finish the Loufu storyline if u want.
Oh that's awesome heck yeah!! I am in no rush at all lol but that's good to know :)
I'm a bit way too excited for Acheron, will be my first time whaling on Star Rail. I'll be going for atleast E2 with signature lightcone and hoping to get E6

Ah, at one point, the devs changed a series of main story missions and turned them into world missions.
I completed these missions before they changed them, but from what I know they do warn you and that if you choose to move on with the main story without completing the world missions those missions would essentially be unplayable

it only affected one mission on the Loufu, it gives a bit of backstory to one relatively minor npc
@@JM-nothing-more I'm still miffed that they made that NPC not relevant: they had a more thematically fitting motive to the Luofu narrative.
@@georgieegames It's a quest that basically centers around a group called Sanctus Medicus. The, I believe they're called the Realm-Keeping Commission, will ask you to help them out in regards to that group. Some people complained how the mission felt kind of like the main story was put aside for what felt like just a side quest. But it did have payoff in the end, imo.
But that one, you'll definitely need to get that done, I imagine before you first go to the alchemy commission. Otherwise there is a big change that happens that makes it so the quest is no longer doable. While I get why people complained, I don't really think hoyo making it optional was really the right thing to do.
Edit: Okay, did NOT know this, but apparently they changed it so there's an entire side to the main quest for the Luofu story that you can end up missing out on, since apparently that happened to Serval's en va. If you get a prompt to do a quest (there's more than one since it goes on in parts throughout most of the main quest) with an orange icon that mentions about checking on Dan Heng, while doing the Luofu story quest, make sure to do those as well.

Interesting. I do here often that certain people did not enjoy the XInazhou Luofu storyline, which I think it kidna weird as I heard almost no negative feedback on it while it was being released. Either way, if you like Blade, Dan or JY - you will probably enjoy the patch. For me even with Penacony happening, Xianzhuo Luofu patches are my faves as they set up conflicts and storylines that I personally am the most interested in. Either way I do hope you will enjoy yourself!
You have to do all the xianzhou companion missions! They are all important to the xianzhou story as far as I recall. And argenti's because it was hilarious and also he will probably turn up in the main story soon. It's alright if you don't feel like recording them (I really really want to see you react to them though) as long as you play them. I'd say the trailblaze continuance for belabog and herta's space station are equally important because they are the character introductions and basically companion quests to characters that will turn up in Penacony. And Penacony story just assumes you already know them and don't give you any introductions etc. The xianzhou trailblaze continuance isn't that important but I personally really enjoyed it. Looking forward to more updates~ Glad you're still having fun!!
Ok probably not all the xianzhou companion missions but most of them.
Also the events with story are all permanent so it's amazing! Some of them involve a new area that we get to 'build' that becomes permanent, I really recommend building the Aurum Alley in xianzhou, it looks fabulous when it's done and is my favourite map to just afk haha. The events aren't important though, so whenever you're in the mood or in a couple months when you've caught up.

Don't know if anyone already said this but here you go: Acheron and Gallagher are on the same banner and they're the first banner so lucky us, and you also can get a free 4 star in one of the events and Gallagher is there so you can just get him in this event. 👍

The main term I use for Luocha is "suspicious". He keeps his true intentions VERY closely guarded so there's still a LOT we don't know about him and what he's really after.
Yeah, Screwllum (robot dude)'s release has been waiting in limbo for SO long. Hopefully we'll finally get him in 2.3.
Also, luckily for you, Gallagher is on Acheron's banner in the 1st half. Luocha is also rerunning in that half too. Jingliu and Aventurine are in the 2nd half. As someone else mentioned, there is an event where you can choose to get Gallagher for free, but since you said you'll be pulling on Acheron's banner anyways, you can easily choose one of the others since some of the 4stars you were interested in, like Luca, Hanya, and Xueyi, are also ones you can choose. (Misha, Guinaifen, Lynx, and Yukong are the other options as well.)
The sparkle trailers (EN, CN, and JP) are a must watch!
I came back to the game a couple weeks ago. I LOVE gold and gears Simulated Universe. So fun! I also was MAAAAAD at myself for missing Ruan Mei. Can't wait for her rerun.
2:42 there are some events that are playable forever, but you won't get the full rewards from when it was limited or when it came out ig
The only side quests story thing you will want to do is Jingliu's/Yanqing's if I remember correctly. I can't think of any others.

@@georgieegames Not sure if the game requires you to do Yanqing's before you can do Jingliu's. If the requirement isn't there, I still recommend going in that order. And I do recommend doing Luocha's too. It's got some FUN parts in it and definitely drops some major hi3 references. I also liked Serval's since it deals with the aftermath of the Belobog main quest. Yukong's is VERY good.
You're in for a good treat my friend, coincidentally, loucha's rerun is the 2.1 patch which is next week

Oddly, the Swarm Disaster update was very story-important over the long term. It established that an Aeon can die, why one might need to, and what the actual consequences - or seeming lack of consequences - there might be. This affects a lot of other storylines. (Gameplay-wise, it also provided more value for the Erudition combat path to exist.)
Oh - if you haven't found it yet, you may want to search the Herta Space Station for an unpublished essay written by Herta on how the Interastral Peace Corporation came about. (It was a draft of one chapter of a book she hasn't gotten around to writing.) It's extremely good background material to read before you start having to deal with the IPC - such as Topaz - more directly. There are a few things easy to misunderstand about the organization if you're just picking your perspective up off the streets.
And while they both follow the Destruction, the Antimatter Legion and the Annihilation Gang don't intermix much.

@@one_and_a_half_braincell The fourth part of "Herta's Manuscripts" (it's not Chapter 4, but is part 4 of a findable 4). I believe it's in the Master Control Zone (the bridge), on a small table along the left side of the "bottom" of the triangle on your map.
(In that same general area should also be a treatise on spiritual life forms such as the Wubbaboo, which initially seems only relevant to the Herta Space Station's population of Wubbaboos but turns out to have a lot of relevant data for later parts of the story.)

Still sad, that the event lightcone from the Silver Wolf event isnt permanent. I think the event isnt either. This lightcone is actually one of the best Lightcones for Pela and SilverWolf herself ^^. But thats the only big part you might miss, regarding events. What i really recommend are the Museum event, the shopping street event and Ghost Hunting. They have interesting stories that do some decent character development of side characters.
Aetherium Wars is the most fun though atm ^^
Fun fact: The Ghosthunting patch was seen as a filler Patch, because no big main story was released, while the ghost hunting event was one with the best story.

Most, if not all, the main(?) events are archived and can be played in-game. It's just that some of the exclusive awards are no longer available like exclusive Lightcones, phone menu wallpaper, and chat skins
You can still get the phone backgrounds and chat bubbles from the archived events, the only thing people missed out on is the lightcone from A Foxian Tale of the Haunted and some of the jades and resources. Silverwolfs event isn't archived so obviously her lightcone is also out which is a bummer.

Kafka’s, Luocha’s, Jingliu’s, and Fu Xuan’s companion missions are pretty important. Argenti’s is the only way you could meet him. Although, the game will let you refuse to do Kafka’s which is hilarious. All the companion missions are pretty fun, but those 4 give more lore.
The character missions are much shorter than genshin ones and some are related to main story so probably worth doing them. MUST DOs are dan heng, march 7th, jingliu, kafka off the top of my head. These are tied to main story.

Okay with companion missions, the ones that I deem as "worth it" would be...
- Serval's + Gepard's
- mayyyybee Natasha's and Clara's? There's a lot of fetching from what I remember tho...
-...pretty much all the Luofu Companion Missions 😭 they do so well in conveying character beckground/depth and really these missions help me understand the characters better.
Besides them, I still have some companion missions I didn't complete or the ones I did complete just didn't...hook me enough at the time so they were meh in my eyes
There is also the Trailblaze Continuance missions which are like interlude quests. They aren't necessarily main story, but they do give spotlight to some of the minor characters that didn't get much screen time OR they are the introduction missions to some characters that may appear in the main story.
They also help establish some background lore INTO the quests. Like some lore that were mostly known through items and books get their explanations in these missions

loufu main story is okay. iirc my issue with it was just it had a bunch of unnecessary fillers which made the quest longer than it needed to be but I think they removed those in a later version making them optional quests instead.
It would be nice if all the patches had LIT story additions. BUT WHEN they REALLY focus on story they tend to get 10/10 so I'm fine if they take their time.

Just for future reference Acheron is pronounced "ACK-eron" (Greek origin) and it's Aventurine, as in the gemstone, not ADventurine 🙏

19:16 Dr. Ratio is not a member of the Genius Society, he's a member of the Intelligentsia Guild, which is basically the academic/research branch of the IPC. As for the robot dude, that wasn't a member of the Genius Society, that was Nous, the Aeon of Erudition. There is a robot working on Simulated Universe with Herta but that's Screwllum who is a humanoid robot. Also Herta doesn't only have one partner for SU, she has 3: Ruan Mei, Stephen Lloyd, and Screwllum.

@@georgieegames Screwllum is the robot dude you said you liked. Nous the Erudition looks like a big floating roundish hunk of metal with a red glowy light.
As a fan of the story, belobog was great, the Xianghou was not at great, but it may be due to differences in western culture and eastern with it having themes of Buddhism in reincarnation and past sins. Since I’m not familiar with those ideals, it was weaker, but penacony so far is getting good. I’m interested in how the reception for the second world was in eastern countries.
Oooooo the story of xianghou sounds really interesting! I am loving the belabog story, finally getting to the meat of it now, am excited to see what happens next! Especially in penacony!
most of the updates are just side stories while they cook the main story for like penacony which man they cooked alright

The Xianzhou story was a bit inconsistent and poorly paced in updates, but as a whole it's actually not so bad. Not great either, but definitely not bad.
