@@user-vz1kk5bf8kStrasbourg seems to get an unfair amount of hate and it's actually fairly decent (not OP or anything though) and JB seems to be overly praised beyond her actual capabilities.
@@Joshua-fi4jinot beyond her capability, just that you definitely need a little luck and more than a modicum of skill in knowing how to deploy to advantage. I do agree that strasbourg and the dunkirque are unfairly put down so often.

If Carnot would be given the reload booster of the tech tree ships she would be more than worth getting. As it stands she is just kind of a waste of space in the armory. Her alpha strike isn't bad, and French AP is always nice, but considering we now have French BCs in the tech tree. Her time is long past.
Also edit, Auckland has a little window where her torpedo tubes are that is the top of her citadel, and it's only 70mm. If you go into the armour viewer and remove everything but the cit you can even see where they are. It's quite a big weak spot. That's where your seemingly random cit on the Auckland came from.
Honestly, I like Carnot overall but 100% agree on that MBRB consumable. Slap that shit on this babe and I would play with her all day.

Carnot was my first coal ship, and after hundreds of games I actually feel pretty well on it. Reload mod, speed boost and almost always using AP, since HE is really anemic.
even with alaska reload time + booster will not reach power level of alaska with her radar, great aa, hydro, improved pen, troll cit etc etc. but for reason unknown to mankind, wg gave carnot a 25 sec BB reload without even giving booster.
As an Alaska player, Ägir even, the damage on Carnot's HE Shells looks disgustingly low, indeed.
...it's 50 less alpha than alaska, and alaska has one less gun
and about 30% more than agir (and again, one less gun)
I play ships every day and this is the only time I can recall seeing Carnot in battle this year.
6:42 Simple, Auckland is the Ablemarle hull and it has the central part of the Citadel higher than where the turrets are, aka top-hat ddesign. This citadel design means that Ablemarle and Auckland eat citadel hits from every direction.
Carnot's strengths are speed, accuracy and punchy guns. You can do 40kt and the AP really slaps. It's also got loads of health and decent armour compared to many other cruisers. A real flank crusher if you pick your moments.
Short answer: no. Pick any year, the answer is the same.
I bought the Carnot for coal for exactly one reason : to never get it from some crate instead of something better. I dont even see the point of French battle cruisers. Reload should be cut at least by 5 seconds to get any interrest from me.
The AP is hella good, she’ll velocity and the speed duking makes me rate this better than Agir, and it’s easier playstyle than Alaska
Agir is a very bad ship, though.
@@EvoraGT430 it’s not that bad, AP still slaps bb for 10k a valley, still tanky but if we just comparing coal t9 crusier, Carnot does agir does but more survivable because of the speed duking

Aquila was a rush conversion of an ocean liner...just has the hull shell plating. 1-1.5" mild steel maybe? Not face-hardened/cemented at all.
Still a fairly decent design though, apart from the German aircraft catapults.
It also feels clumsy too.
Flamu told this long back..that French cruisers do not have battle impact.. because you have to farm for a long time to get an impact out of these.
Now because of the passive meta, super ships and subs...this flaw is enhanced a lot..you will hardly see Henri, Marseille or carnot unless you are grinding these lines or research buro ships..
In old meta they brought this unique play style of running around map burning things..but now if you take up a flank then you will be focused by CV or sub .. and if you don't play like this then what is your MVP? As you said...we have other ships for this role much better than French ships

Carnot is my favorite for tier 9 cruiser i never use he only ap no concilment acceleration and turning build and doing so match potentional damage you smash bb in superstuction with ap

Carnot should get a reload buff, because it has potential to be a good ship despite being massive
If she would get 20 second reload base and 20 km base range, she would be much better. Adding reload booster would totally redeem her. luckily I got mine from Santa containers. I didn't had to spend dime on on this one. Alaska is really good. Good armor and good guns. My fave large cruiser.
as a battle cruiser enjoyer my self- yea they aren't very good XD they would really love some accuracy but that would be rely hard to balance and honestly just punish cruisers rely hard. i got an idea of what if we take all battle cruisers give them more pen, less full pen damage and more over pen damage. so they could actually punish more battleships by getting more citadels on broad sides. the damage tweaks would be there to help re balance their damage while getting more full and over pens
I really do enjoy carnot i like that you say to continue enjoying it but man i feel you it's rough to play most of the time right now xD

It’s a lot more accurate than the massa so it’s basically like a premium NC? 😬 it’s pretty good

@@m_swizzy22 Alabama's sigma value is somewhere in between North Carolina's and Massachusetts'. Better than Massachusetts indeed, but still not as excellent as North Carolina's accuracy. In terms of survivability, one notable aspect is that Alabama has better torpedo protection than either of the two (in fact if I recall correctly, she has the highest in-tier torpedo damage reduction rating at 49%, compared to MA's 46% and NC's frankly horrid 19%). Overall, she is in fact a much tankier premium North Carolina that trades a bit of gun precision for enhanced sustainability against torpedo damage. She doesn't get Massachusett's rapid-cooldown repair party, nor her secondary battery with improved range and accuracy. I guess if one wants to train their usual survivability build-focused USN commanders without necessitating the allocation of skills to enhancing secondaries, free of charge, while also sticking to the traditional USN BB gameplay style of relying wholely on main battery gunnery for dealing damage (in short, the North Carolina way), then Alabama's a pretty practical choice for a T8 USN premium BB.
@@solberioneIts so Good in Tier 8 ranked when the enemy has a CV, you are pretty much something they want to avoid, it also has a much better protected Citadel than either Massa and N.C. At Mid range (18 - 13 km) i think its the best out of the 3.
my experience with carnot up until the bc line came out was i would just rather play louis if im playing tier 9 french cruiser, now that the bc's are out i would still probably pick louis over brest but i would still pick either over carnot every single time

I think it's a bit crap personally, a one trick wonder. It's especially useless in ranked.
It can shred DDs in the right situations, but you won't be getting those situations often outside of airship escort/coop/asymetrics.
Other than that, it's a smoke farmer, but is worse at that than T9 Friesland/Groningen.

One of my fav premium at Tier 9. I got Azuma, Agir and Carnot is my most played cruiser.
It's hard to play, but when you know how to play it. Oh geez. It's a beast.

I got Carnot out of a Santa crate. Tried it a few times and i see no point paying this ship. Comparing it to the Alaska would be unfair, as it was removed for being to strong but with Ägir? Ägir is simply better at anything except for speed. Better armor, torpedos and most importantly reload.
I don't get the very long reload on the Carnot, as the guns aren't that crazy. I think they should buff the reload to Ägir levels. Reload booster would be too much gimmick heavy. Damage idk. Ships that can delete other ships with 1 salvo, bursts or reload boost only push blowout battles. Thats why i prefer more consistent "normal" salvos.
This boat got in the armory only few months before the second french cruiser line was announced.
And Brest is lot better than Carnot.

i like this ship, but i prefer speed bost and more ap, i like strange ships and this fit me
Desperately a reload booster. The techline French BCs are far stronger and more fun.
That Kozma Minin is a Donskoi with Hipper guns i think.

He seems to really dislike most if not all battlecruisers, even the ones that a lot of people really like so idk about a list like that.

If this boat got a re-load buff to 20 seconds and the re-load consumable, then it might be worth getting. If they also gave it torpedoes, then yes, I would get it. But that´s never going to happen. As is, no thanks.
WG hasn´t brought out any interesting coal ships in a long while. They seem to be either ignoring or even moving away from coal ships. Coal is too easy to get and maybe they want to make reward ships harder to obtain from now on. I guess that coal ships are not profitable enough for WG anymore.

Not worth the Research points except if you are rich, have all the ships already or if it really fits your playstyle . Because it’s hella expensive

I don't know why, a bug in the AI perhaps, but, and I cannot emphasize this enough, THERE IS NO OTHER CRUISER THAT DRAWS FIRE FASTER FROM THE AI. If you play a lot of Co-op this will matter.

It is a good cap contester. 5.8 conceal, 5.5km hydro. You need to choose between hydro and speed boost, but with speed flag, its still does almost 40 knots. Option to choose between 9.2km slow, or 6.7km fast torps ( normal torps, not deepwater ones ). However, if you run into some T9-10 gunboat, the less than 18k HP can be a disadvantage.
It used to be OP, now it's not great.
The ship itself feels like a T7. It gives up a lot for that hydro, which is less useful in todays meta, even in ranked.
Silawangi is more versatile in my opinion - does the same thing but on an Ognevoi hull and deep water torps. Wouldn't soend money on either though.
If you want the hydro gimmick, just go up the German tree and Benson and Hsienyang are just better than Loyang in every way.
Any ship can be great for the right player. Dogging out a ship because they have flaws....right.

Carnot wasn’t great when she launched and has had zero love over the years. It’s probably the worst ship in the armory at the moment.

I am not past the 5 minute mark yet and it is already obvious that the ship is trash without significant redeeming qualities. Usually PQ is not this harsh at this point so it must be really, really bad and I dread the minutes to come... This looks worse than Ägir or pretty much anything.

Difficult to gauge how good this ship is. On one hand it's bad because of all the reasons you gave in your video. On the other hand, it's comparable to Brest, which it shares many similar qualities to and is even worse in many areas. A reload booster on the Carnot would make it better in almost every way.
The only but in brest is armor cannot is very strong in armor

One of those ships I've always wanted to like... And just can't get over how mediocre it is.
You're doing it wrong PQ. You take the speed boost always, and when you get into a supership game you press W and just sail straight, that way you're only stuck in a supership game for a min or two max. Once you get better matchmaking then you actually play.
I hate the detonation mechanic.

No, it's status has not changed since release. Released underpowered and remained about the same. Surprised they never buffed it, especially given it's not that old and nott many ever played it
Brest can't stay alive in the open that can easy he play but that ship and fucos to match in he with ap he can doit more damages in bb again if is bow in

@@Joshua-fi4ji cannot have 36 mm deck and I think is faster the reload is bad but I think the ap is better how match can pen that why sometimes you have to match overpen
