I lost him because of a serious heart condition he was suffering from and we did everything we could, spent thousands but no use. The vet said it was time. He was only 7 and was my first dog. Couldn’t have one in my building growing up in NYC. He went in my arms as well. I played the end of Reba for him and it was so beautiful, raw, painful, emotional, just ugh 😣. This band touches my soul in a way even the dead couldn’t to be honest.
I was there at this concert and have been at many(not enough)since 1994. Thank you Phish for sharing my life with you. i hold you and your music deep in my heart. You have made my life so much better and i am eternally grateful. JJB
This is a truly exemplary piece of improvisation from Phish. No stock riffs, no crutch grooves, just simply playing the air and letting the rhythm and harmony take them wherever it wants to.
This is utterly gorgeous and the mode they’re playing in for the most part is very “Dead” - but more importantly it’s also very Phish but in a meditative and transcendent context. Sorry if dynamics and risk-taking improv is “boring” to you, but this shit is hard af to do.
the mode theyre playing is very "Phish" give the dead this song and the percussion and sorry bass would be disjointedly trying to find their place in the song. The vibe is Jerry though
j rid initially I thought “I disagree, this jam sounds so much like the opening part of Terrapin...” but ur right, it’d be so much less understated and more heavy-handed if the massive Train (often trainwreck) that was The Dead we’re doing it. IHave come to love the “sloppiness” of Phil and the two drummers, but I’m realizing more & more as I age how useless it is drawing constant comparisons btwn Phish ‘n Dead. ✌️🖖

Came in mega late from Jersey for this run, emotional roller coaster to say the least being I lost my aunt right before the start of this tour...no ticket even; get there and one dude outside by himself offered me a 20.00 ticket, caught the back end of gin to end set 1 but then walked into this......best set of the whole tour🤷🥰wow
Best 20.00 second set I’ve seen in 20 years 💥😱. Came in from jersey, missed the first set except the last half of Gin. Of the 9 shows I caught this tour.....hands down....you were lucky if you caught this live.....FYI my first show is 7/15/99 pnc🥳. Never been in this territory before and......to each their own, free of time! 🙏

But if the ~3 lines of this song make you cringe....lol. Surely this song can't match up to the stunning prose of YEM, ÷Sky, or the one about the retired colonel, lizards, and the helping friendly book. Lol.

This was last night. Walnut Creek Amphitheater on July 30th, 2022, except the rain had just let up, so the line was perfectly fitting. First time hearing it live & it was a beautiful moment.
July 29th actually at Walnut if you want to Relisten 😉 It was truly blissful and definitely the most Dead-esque song I've ever heard them play live (besides seeing them play Terrapin Station in Va Beach 98). Seriously get some Dark Star or Terrapin vibes, And the weather's fine lol! It was like 100 degrees and humid as hell (think that's why they did Steam>Stash>Steam in the first set), had a brief rain around setbreak that helped a little.
The incredibly annoying "Thank you" chick does this all the time. I hear her at shows constantly. She's waiting for Trey to say "your welcome" into the mic, so she can lose her mind

I’ve found a large part of the jamming this summer to be a little stale and uninspired. It’s nice to see them explore some slightly more free form jams . This was REALLY nice.

I feel like if Set 1 and 2 were flipped, this would have been a more enjoyable show for me. Set 1 had way more energy, and although I enjoy the new tracks, they are better sprinkled into sets not take up most of a closing set...

Been listening to Phish for 27 years on almost a daily basis and I think this might be the best thing they've ever done.

My favorite song that Trey's written in I don't know how long (not a knock on everthing else. I just love this tune).
