Best metal band of their time. Way ahead of their time. Bass turned way up, one guitar, keys and synth, Patton's voice and the drumming, my god, the drumming...
BS is 100% Metal! Even if members of the Band still claim they just wanted to rock...they accidentally invented it, just like Motörhead accidentally invented SpeedMetal! The Bass is a bit overdriven, just like all the time in that FNM-Era...nowadays it´s a bit annoying at times! ;)
F*ck me this was amazing when i was 13yrs old and is still amazing now at the age of 44yrs. Still gives me the chills. An amazing f*cking awesome band 🤟 arghhhhhhhhhh!!!
To imagine, this kind of music was MAINSTREAM once. How much have we lost since. There is no point in listening radio these days, neverending cacophony of plastic, soulless crap. THIS is what music as an art MUST be. Nothing less will do.
How Anthony Keidis ever thought Mike Patton was biting his style, is pure delusion. < (Keidis derailing Mr. Bungle’s career was a dick move). Not only different performance style, but Patton is a god. Even at Keidis’ peak, he was serviceable, at best.
Anthony Kiedis is nothing more than a famous junkie. A piece of shit who slept with underage girl and admitted in his own book Scar Tissue. His father is no saint as his father was not a father and pushed it all on his son. His dad was also a junkie and b class actor who was in Leathal Weapon 1. Kiedis is the typical Hollywood musician. Once teenagers that have a brain grow up they realize he sucks and Patton is great
The audio for this is fantastic! I always laugh about this song. I had gotten this album on cassette pretty much right away. I had never heard War Pigs by Sabbath and I assumed this was an original song by Faith No More. Loved it immediately and still really do. Later on when I found out it was a not-so-obscure Sabbath tune I felt pretty stupid. I got over it though.
Such a shame they fell out with Jim Martin. What an amazing, effortless guitarist! And can't underestimate the brilliance of Gould here. He stays solid throughout whilst throwing in some amazing fills!
Saw FNM at the International 2 in Manchester '87 or '88 i think. Chuck was still the singer. He had about 5 changes of clothes. Only about 100 people there. I maintain to this day though, that was one of the best and loudest live performances i ever saw. My ears were absolutely ringing when i left the place. War Pigs was amazing.
I can't express how sad, let down, angry, hopeless I feel because in my eyes music will die if these people die. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Jack White, Ozzy, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, AC/DC and so on - I know you know what I mean. And I know that there are bands today who deserve to be famous, but that's just what I feel really strong inside
Absolutely. They say these are the last rock stars we will ever see for a reason. It's true, sadly. It's the same for punk, post punk and indie from the eighties. They will soon be gone.
The most influential Metal band ever. They leveraged the bands like Priest and Maiden an made something unique. Just listen to Mr. Bungle. How do you classify that?
The reason why this cover sounds so good comes down primarily to one person, Patton. The rest of the band were absolutely flawless, if anything putting more punch/aggression into it makes it even sound better than the original, but Patton's vocals in this era is what really makes it stand out. I appreciate both eras of Patton's voice (the 89/90's era and later on where he had matured more), but this era, doing this cover, makes it pretty much the #1 Black Sabbath cover ever done in my opinion. Perfection!!
I ain't about to disrespect sabbath but all the same, patton's a much more capable vocalist and hearing his chops in the cover was way more enjoyable than Ozzy. Not to take the song away from Ozzy though, not like he was a shit singer in any regard.
I was 12 when I first saw this "Mike Patton never took drugs" lol ok besides that, this was the best song in this whole concert and damn this concert wat the best I've ever heard. far better than the original
Dig the first line in the comments section: “Slinging those notes around like a cat at yarn, singing never came easier”. PERFECT! there are times when this song , the way it is sung, captures everything that I Want to be about. Can’t help it. It’s righteous. Its perfectly scary. Damn that singer and band - How they nail it. Strong message too. On judgement day the War pigs crawling for mercy. Satan spreads his wings. OH LORD YEAH! Have a good day Putin.
Patton slinging those notes around like a cat batting at yarn. Singing never came easier to anyone. Insane voice.
His reputation as a vocalist is well earned
32 years later.... 32 YEARS LATER!!! One of THE BEST Sabbath covers EVER.
indeed...
One of the Best? The best, you mean.
THE best Sabbath cover ever!
Try Bullring Brummies cover of the wizard. Or Slayer covering Hand of Doom.
Yes it is
Best metal band of their time. Way ahead of their time. Bass turned way up, one guitar, keys and synth, Patton's voice and the drumming, my god, the drumming...

Bordin and Patton, the absolute MPVs
Mike Bordin is one of my favorite drummers. This song is a good reason for that.
That rythm section, those guitars, and Mike Patton's voice. Flawless band.
You forgot the groovy bass

The two most underrated bands ever. "OH, BUT THEY ARE SUPER FAMOUS"... . . . not enough, sir!!!
Bless the bass tech for making Bill's tone perfect. So much flavour on that signal!

Wow first time I've heard this . Its amazing!
you gotta love faith no more
Mike Patton is god, I love this cover more than the original
No big deal.
Just one of the best covers of all time.
Mike Borden was such a BEAST
Best cover ever
I still love this band and am very lucky to have seen them play live many times. Would love to turn back time and see them play again in 89/90
same. pure brilliance and soul.
You're extremely lucky, I was 5 when this took place, always said I wished I'd have been a teenager in the 80's
I was at this gig, or the day either side, then saw them again at Wembley Stadium in ‘92…always up the front
Lucky you! As a teen, I missed out on seeing them play in Auckland in c. 1990 because I was on holiday in San Francisco (!) with my family. Gutted.
So jealous,omg!

Never been easier with portable music players. Haven’t listened to the radio in two decades…
The band is on fire in this concert.

Lets not compare...but Patton is a musician! :)

Because he was. And lets be honest here, Mr Bungle never had a career.
@@andrepereira744lol .....why would Mike Patton want to be kiedis? He is 1000 times more talented.

Mike Patton's voice is just ....capital
22 yrs old sings like that.. Look at him now. he is the Alimighty
Ozzy would be proud! Mike Patton you did justice to this song!
So proper, no wonder Borden went on to play with Ozzy. And he was Burton's best friend.
Patton's vocal = perfection! (no offence to Ozzie, but Christ he NAILS this!)
Cuando una versión supera al original ❤❤❤
Love the energy!!!
Always loved his voice.
It was EPIC
Growing up my dad always had the Nativity In Black CD playing. I heard this version before Sabbath!
Одна из лучших групп конца 80 х и всех 90х, панк и металл смешали в кучу, Майк Паттон - вобще человек шедевр!
I was 10 when this came out. I remember being disappointed when I heard the Sabbath version later. I think the same thing happened with Walk this Way
Such a shame they fell out with Jim Martin. What an amazing, effortless guitarist!
And can't underestimate the brilliance of Gould here. He stays solid throughout whilst throwing in some amazing fills!
It happens beacuse he was a big asshole.
