If you're going to sew a lot and create your own patterns, Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts sells (in the painting section) triangles, french curves, and a small T-square. The sizes are perfect for altering commercial doll patterns as well as making one's own. Using the straight edge of a table or a piece of board/foam board with the T-square will give you perfectly straight lines and the triangles will help to make perfect corners.

Love this spring outfit. How random I recently purchased two quarters of fabric one yellow and the other black and white. I am gonna have to attempt this because it too cute. The only thing is I don't have a sewing machine ,so it's more time consuming. Froggy you are such an awesome role model. I love how crafty and creative you are.
