Finally cooking channel that actually use authentic spices from Indonesia while cooking Indonesian dish. Awesome!
In Indonesia, every region has their own local kecap manis. Usually they prefer their own local kecap rather than the national brand such as abc and bango. It suited the local tastebud more. For instance, in Solo we prefer Lombok Gandaria more due to its thick and sweet taste, while in Tangerang they favor kecap SH more which not as thick as bango but saltier yet has a hint of spice in it. Some kecap manis even made for specific dishes such as kecap matahari for nasi lengko in Cirebon, or kecap korma for madurese satay. But ngl national brand still has the safest tastenote that can fit most of Indonesian palate.
True!
In Kebumen, Purworejo, Central Java, we use kecap Kentjana for soto, bakso dan sate ambal.
For national brands....I think Kecap Sedaap has the best taste....flavourful and savory...better than Bango and ABC
piring lombok or cap sawi here
Kecap Manis cap Orang Jual Sate is the winner for me.
*having a lombok gandaria flashback
bumbu mean seasoning or spices mix..yooo Indonesian is here :) always love your video. Come and taste the authentic Indonesian food, go travelling to my country, definitely worth to try.
Benulkah?
Terima kasih
Bumbu = condiment.
@@araara4746 condiment itu tambahan, semacam saus, kecap dll
@@LEX4N1 sambal, bumbu, rempah-rempah termasuk condiment.
Love that you're using the original spices and not just any western rendition of the recipe. Keep up the good works
There are no amount of grilling can help your ingredient tough... (e*K)
bener banget. paling sebel kalau orang asing masak gado-gado malah pakai selai kacang.
he aint Jamie Oliver
As Indonesian nanny for America employer’s they always super happy for my Indonesian cuisines that I cook for them 🧑🍳
It's from Malaysia not Indonesia😊
@@xiraoit9342kecap manis dari Indonesia. Stop claim Indonesian belonging. Shame on you Malingsial.
@@xiraoit9342Malaysia? I never see konro bakar in Malaysia
😂😂😂
@@hilaluddin1592bro, si @xiraoit9342 lagi sarkas aja tu, kan semua yg ada di Indonesia selalu diklaim sama Malaysia, makanya dia bercandain 😂
Indonesian cuisine always contains spices such as coriander, pepper, turmeric, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, candlenuts, star anise, ginger, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, bay leaves, onions,
Don't forget complements such as chili sauce, pickled cucumber, basil leaves.
And sweet ketchup 😅
and don't forget sasa..

big respect to you for using original spices instead of using any other substituion or even way different spices; like jamie oliver did
Oh no, Not Jamie Oliver...

Indonesian recipes are often extra tasty and sweet because they're also used to flavour the rice that you're supposed to be eating with. The rice steals the flavour a bit so you'll get a more balanced overall profile then.
It's either rice or noodles. Both need some seasonings to spice up the food.
also not every region in indonesia like the food to be super sweet.. central java and east java like it sweet, west java like it salty, sumatra like it hot etc.
When the dish is born in a land of spices, there wont be anything else than the food soaked with many herbs & spices with bomb of flavors❤
I follow alot of food channels. PitmasterX, Chuds BBQ, BBQ pit boys, Outdoor Chef Life and Mark Wiens. Those ribs look AWESOME
Awesome, full circle
@@PITMASTERXalgorithm 😊
ABC brand kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) used to be popular before beaten by Bango brand. When I was little kid in 1990s, nobody in Makassar bought Bango brand kecap manis, almost every household bought ABC brand instead. I was born and raised in Makassar (the city where Konro is originated), but moved to Jakarta in 1999.
Bango brand become popular after heavily advertised by Unilever in early 2000s, and gradually become market leader and beat ABC brand popularity. So, for Konro Bakar, ABC brand is actually more authentic than Bango brand especially if you wanted to create vintage Indonesian taste from 1990s.
It doesn't matter
Funny coz bango brand is already exists kong time before ABC. Just check the history.
@@mavakhayank29 I think OP explain about the popularity of the brand. It's true Bango is earlier than ABC, but ABC used to be more popular.
For me I prefer ABC more than Bango, but maybe because I got used to ABC's taste since I was a kid.
@@anahliss5404 For me it matters. Each brand has its own unique taste. I prefer ABC taste than Bango
Ketjap
there's a lot of effort to cook indonesian food. but the results always outstanding.
cool
agreed
Definitely. Even as an Indonesian, i feel tired after making just one complex dish 😂
hours of cooking, minutes of eating
True. I've feel sorry when i said "only like that???" When watching how euro food cook.
I've tasted conimex ketjap manis, and as a Javanese Indonesian, it tasted like salty cough syrup. Wasted my precious euro for that medicine. Always use the authentic kecap manis from abc, indofood or bango afterwards.
Conimex ??
Seperti nama perusahaan farmasi di Indonesia 😃
Haahahah. Kecap conimex itu produk asal mana? Namanya memang mirip perusahaan farmasi indonesia, Konimex 😁
Baru tau conimex bikin obat batuk,.. eh kecap..
Conimex really sounds like an indonesian cough syrup producer 😅😅
Ternyata ada merk Conimex Ketjap Manis di Netherland ya😅
Love you being happy about having gotten the meat at a bargain - Nederlanders 🥳 🤠

Makasar, Sulawesi Island, Indonesia.
Come to Indonesia ada sate kambing, gule, soto betawi, Bakso, nasi goreng, ayam betutu, gado gado, mie goreng, gudeg, ketoprak, coto Makassar dll

Roel, you should do a collab with Mark; that would be amazing!
Rich dickhead like me in the comments: ‘He’s probably not cheap’
It would, don't think he knows who I am
what a food, chef. you already cook like a true Indonesian 😀
don't forget the konro soup, because it can provide a new & more refreshing flavor elements... Indonesia likes lots of flavor elements in one dish, so that the moment of eating doesn't feel monotonous... lol...
Thank a lot Chef, for bringing one of the famous Indonesian cuisine😊❤
Big appreciation to you sir, for the effort to use OG recipe, and the grill is so neat and clean, I need a tips to clean it, once again really appreciated

Awesome cooking yo! ❤
i think you boil the meat a little bit overcook but overall 100% authentic beef konro
Not all of indonesia like their food sweet, some area like their food salty with no added sugar
@@si-oche5889 oh gitu ya.. kirain sy yg namanya daerah Jawa pasti manis. Rupanya tdk jg.. br tau..biasanya sy klu pas lg main ke Jogya atau Semarang setiap mau pergi makan pasti selalu bw cabe rawit.. he he he biar biasa makan.
Oh my goodness your version of konro bakar looks so delicious, makes me crave for one too 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
And as Indonesian i learn this recipe from you now.. thank you very much!!
It's an honor
Even though I'm a Filipino, I applaud you going the real authentic route with your spices and ingredients. Not all chefs do that and they often mess up. That looks super tasty and I hope I can try that there.
Thank you

I've tried many beef recipes. Konro is the most tasty for me.
Eventhou my family cooked Rendang...known as the most tasty food in the world. Konro is my favorite ❤
That looks tasty!
you improved the recipe, elevated to heaven'level😂
Am I daydreaming rn? Did you put terasi, dried shrimp paste, into the seasoning mix? I couldn't be more surprised you found it in EU. Impressive!
One addition, try to sip that broth while eating grilled konrow and you'll have a great meal combo. Jeez, I hope there's some place selling that thing here.🤤
great knowledge, great channel.
LOVE THIS CONTENT
The Sambal that you used to grilled meat is different.
Usually we use only a mix of shallots, sweet soy sauce, chilli, a bit of salt, and dont cook it, the raw taste of it is enchance the grilled sauce and peanuts sauce.
Benar sekali... Sambal matang rasanya kurang segar.. buat saya lebih enak sambal mentah..
@@Ris_ma1503 iya soalnya aroma daging bakarnya bakal ketutup sambal kalo pake sambal mateng.
The peanut sauce is usually less thick, and we serve this with rice with a bit of that soup on the side to moisten them all a bit.
Looks like there will be more Indonesian visiting your channel on the next days.... 😊😊😅😅
*_Ngiler!!!_*
👌🤤👍
I appreciated ur effort to use authentic recipe
Duhh.. bikin ngiler nehh 😊

Mouthwatering barbeque 🤤
it's great that we can get authentic indonesian spices in netherlands
wow.... thanks you for making it Global....
Lonnie approves this video😄... alles smaakt beter met pindasaus 😋😋😊
In Indonesian traditional market, they sell packet of bumbu depending of quantity /Kilogram you need to cook and what kind recipe of cook you want. Like rendang, gulai or condro they have own packet. Or different recipe every sambal, they pack with mix material
Amazing video, love from indonesia 🇮🇩
Thank you for the video
you cook it beautifully! indonesian foods usually too flavorful for westerner, because indonesians used to eat with rice. another reason is because we 'rarely' use high quality meat, so the spice helps. i hope you can taste more of indonesian foods. good luck to you!
you can taste the spices more in kecap ABC than kecap bango and kecap bango taste sweeter than kecap abc. eat it with rice & soup then it will be more perfect. Good video!👏👏👏
Yeahhhhh
That is konro , from Sulawesi Island, Indonesia
Dit lyk fantasties !!!!!
This is very authentic, thank you XD
Looks so delicious 😋
Thanks Riaz
I'm fasting and it makes me hungry already 😂
This is my mother in law's favorite meal to cook on Eid
I think this is my first time seeing video of outdonesian genuinely following authentic recipe without altering it with bxllsxit things like chilli jam.
everything is perfect...
when i see someone making peanut sauce. i got flashback of jamie oliver using peanut butter, lime, soy sauce and fish sauce
🤠
That's insult for peanut sauce😂😂😂
looked good !
For me as Indonesian who lived in Indonesia since born, 3 best things are the weather, the food and the people.
Actually accurate ❤❤❤. Thanks man
You should visit Indonesia and try the original one. It will blow your mind.
It sure feels delicious
Hahahahaha the way you stutter is so relatable
