I think what this movie did great was the characterization of Captain Marvel. Using a combination of camera angles, vfx, fighting style and sound design paired with Brie’s cold one liners and intense stares gives you the impression of an aloof, no-nonsense personality and she KNOWS she’s OP. You’re just glad she’s on your side. It shows since many people HATED this character because she’s not like the other MCU superheroes… but she’s actually kind of endearing. I think she was added a little late to MCU storyline… everyone’s story was basically complete and I would’ve liked to see the other Marvel characters interact with her more and even influence her.
It’s also interesting that she flies around and has power emitting from her that makes her look like an angel but her personality is far from one.
