RMC Roar absolutely needs to happen. They can even just repeat the same conversion that was done for Joker at Discovery Kingdom if they’re looking to save cost and I still wouldn’t complain that’s how badly they need a standout.
Agreed, roar gave me a headache when I was there earlier this week
@@cam3033 rumor has it if you listen closely on roar you'll hear katy perry ; )
I just rode roar in the back row 3 times a few days ago and it was not rough at all you guys dont know what roughness is. Roar is an awesome ride 😊
@EmberMcLain87 Dont Mention That Song Its Probably My Least Favorite Of All Time
For a coaster themed to Two Face, the model actually fits the role perfectly.
Two Face is one of my favorite Batman villains besides the Penguin and the Joker so seeing he once has his own ride is kind of cool.
Ahh, my home park… The love-hate relationship is strong with this one. Would check in all the time in the mid to late 2000s as a lil kid. It was booming back then. The park peaked around 2011 imo. Haven’t been back since 2016 I think. So much potential at SFA. RMC, B&M Hyper and a Giga would do wonders for the park. There’s a lot of unused land in Gotham City, plus Mind Eraser and Renegade Rapids can get tossed for more space as well. Hopefully they’re cooking up something good for the near future b/c everyone I know has moved on to Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens and Hershey Park lmao
Honestly for a park stuck in 2001 and starving for something new, Six Flags America’s lineup is pretty sweet. That top 4 is genuinely very solid, but I definitely hope the park gets something new soon
hey six flags america, 2001 called. apparently something happened to the world trade center,
It’s solid IF they are open. When I went Superman and Batwing were closed and Joker’s Jinx and Wild One had over an hour wait…along with everything else that was open because of one train ops…
I would never call the top 4 at this park "very solid". Meh at best.
This place has a decent line up but I feel if it got 1 more good coaster people might come out there and pay more attention to it
@wickedroller Says Someone Who Probably Finds Over Georgia's Lineup Meh When Its One Of The Most Deep And Well Rounded Lineups Of Any Park
Funny story, I've never heard of Six Flags America until the day I went there. I was in Baltimore for a convention in 2019and I had a friend I was hanging out with who happened to work at Magic Mountain. He invited us down to this park, which I thought didn't exist (this was also around the time I was an enthusiast on hiatus). We were there for maybe 3 hours max and rode Mind Eraser, Roar, Firebird, and Superman. Joker's Jinx was closing when we got to it and Batwing was closed. Wasn't the best park outing I had, but was still happy I went and had a good time with friends I don't see very often.
Six Flags America needs the following rides:
1. A brand new B&M Invert with a custom layout
2. A ground up RMC
3. A Mack Multi launch coaster
4. A Gravity Group family woodie
5. A B&M Dive Coaster
They need to RMC Roar. Besides mind eraser, Roar always had one of the shorter lines in the park, even with one train ops.
mini dive to replace mind eraser, rmc roar, and maybe take out the penguin water ride for the family woodie ?
@@Commanders2022 there most likely not going to rmc it because they just retracked it
... every park could use those
Is Griffon close enough?
If they give Mind Eraser the full Morey's treatment with the new trains, and roar is RMC'd, they would have a very solid lineup!
Even the half-Morey's treatment like up at Six Flags New England would be an improvement (the full Morey's treatment included a full retrack, as I recall).
@@MarsJenkar True, however as Chris stated, what makes this one as bad as it is, is the shakiness which I doubt would be fixed by the new trains. Although there would not be head banging, I think it would not be nearly as much of an improvement as expected.
Wild One was probably the most surprising ride there. It’s pretty fun for a ride over 100 years old
Always a good day when Airtime Thrills posts a video!
So it seems I misspoke about Python, that's obviously an Arrow not a Schwarzkopf 🤦♂️
hey love your channel Airtime Thrills
Yeah I noticed
No worries, dude. Mistakes happen.
It’s hilarious!
It's okay, mistakes happened
I would bet that if/when Six Flags starts to sell off some parks in the USA that SFA is probably near the top of the list of parks to go. It's so strange how Six Flags has these parks like my home park Great Escape that they seemingly just ignore for decades at a time. Really sucks, I remember in the 2000s being so jealous of Six Flags America because they got the flagging treatment. Fast forward 20 years and Great Escape got flagged but they left the treatment in the 2000s. Great video, the end had me cracking up!
Wouldn't Python be an Arrow, not a Schwarzkopf
Yes it would be, I guess he just slipped up when recording.
@juiceboxer100as someone who started and ended this video on the toilet, Montezooma's Revenge is all that's on my mind rn too 😵

Congrats on finding one irrelevant error in a CZcams video
I rode poltergeist at fiesta Texas a month ago and I still remember being WHIPPED into that final corkscrew. It didn’t feel real and it felt like a dream lol
im sorry as a person from maryland the way you pronounced bowie almost made me cry. youre one of my favorite youtube channels though🫶
My favorite part of his videos that is in every video will always be the ending clip of the intro where he’s wearing the Kennywood shirt and in his car, flips his sunglasses down and looks at the camera. Idk why, but that always makes me want to laugh seeing it
Babe wake up Airtime Thrills is talking about Six Flags America
From my visit in 2013, my favorite ride there is The Wild One, followed by Batwing, Joker's Jinx, and Superman: Ride of Steel. Every other roller coaster there was closed during my visit.
Regardless of how low tier my home park is, I can’t help but enjoy my time whenever I go. It’s always been a small, not well kept park, but it can be a good time if you’re there with kids or just there to get the credits.
Also, I’d personally switch Batwing and Firebird. Never had a bad ride on Firebird. Batwing just shakes me around too much.
Without much crowds its a good time for sure
I actually liked Firebird more when it was Apocalypse (the stand-up). I guess I’m weird.
@@katherinezimmerman6997 The theming for Apocalypse was so good and Firebird is just... meh.
@coasterentertainment Apoclaypse As A Standup Was The Worst Coaster Experience I've Had
Grew up going here all the time in the late ‘00s. I remember employees always telling us about a poison ivy roller coaster that was supposed to be built, but it obviously never happened. Didn’t really connect the dots that they were probably talking about ultra twister til a few years ago
This park also had one of my favorite water rides ever before it got replaced by apocalypse. Skull mountain was awesome, me and my mom still talk about it every time we go
That actually would have kind of been a perfect theme for Ultra Twister if it was in a good enough condition to re-assemble as the spiraling twisting green rings of track fits with how Poison Ivy can control plants and created twisted thorny vines which she uses as defense.
this park's my home park, I AM PRAYING WE GET SOMETHING NEW,
“You’re either gonna have a good time, if you’re gonna have a good blog to post” might be the greatest quote from this channel about SFA😂
1. Great Chase
Never been but I’ve ridden Road Runner Express at SFDK.
This is my home park, and I've ridden many of these coasters. I avoid Roar like the plague, but if I want a good beating, that's the one I'd ride. And Wild One is basic, but it's a survivor. Ragin Cajun is one of my favorites, for some reason.
Its been said a thousand times, but just RMC roar already! It’s already a park of clones, clone joker from six flags discovery kingdom, and bam, much better line up. Also, tear down mind eraser and the rapids ride and build a new gen vekoma suspended thrill coaster! Then the park will thrive. (Also add vest restraints and new wheels to firebird)
Oh boy, SFA. Welcome to the sad parade! Ugh, I was so excited about the demise of Mind Eraser and had planned to go dance on its grave. If they actually improve it, then fine, but I’d rather they just have done with it and put in something else.
For Joker’s Jinx, the launch is a blast but it loses a lot of stream during the ride.
im noticing that great america sends their not-so-great rides to normal america
I wish there was more Inverted Boomerangs. I’ve been on Invertigo and it’s my favorite Vekoma. Haven’t been on any of the new generation Vekomas but still it’s an excellent ride
This was cool to hear about all the history, great video
All of those roller coasters from then to now have been at the park! Some of them are really awesome to ride.
Was thinking about how a new owner might fix this park, and it actually doesn't seem too complicated. RMC Roar and give Mind Eraser the Great Nor'easter treatment. Then, while RMC and Vekoma are in the park, have RMC do one of their smaller Raptors (Rrailblazer/Golden Lasso), and Vekoma install one of their new gen of flying coasters to replace the approaching expiration Batwing. You'd have transformed two bad coasters into at least good coasters, would have the only smaller Raptor on the east coast, and would have a destination coaster in the only next gen vekoma flying coaster, and would be located right next to a major tourist destination in DC.
Believe it or not, when I was there a couple of years ago I actually remember having a better ride on Roar than on The Wild One but I also was prepared for Roar to be rough and I may have just ended up with a bad ride on the other coaster. Even more disappointing was the fact that Batwing was closed and that’s the only coaster that’s making me want to go back.
What is ironic is that this park is very close to where the Washington Commanders play home games, and considering that Dan Snyder used to own them while he was responsible for business decisions made by Six Flags it makes sense that this park is ranked where it is by most enthusiasts.
Given its proximity to Baltimore and DC, you would expect this park to get more investment, but it is very neglected. I went here recently and it had terrible operations. The lineup is ok, but with Hersheypark and Kings Dominion close by, it is put to shame.
Everyone in D.C goes to kings dominion anyways, its really just a park for baltimore
More competition often leads to better parks, but there seems to be a limit to the number of parks that can be supported in one area, and I guess SFA is feeling the effects of that limit.
@@jaroj1112Everyone in Baltimore goes to Hersheypark instead, it's a park for nobody and that's why there's never anyone there!
@@georgiaginsburg734 You're right about that, I used to live in Baltimore and most people would drive the extra 45 minutes for Hershey instead of going to SFA.
@@georgiaginsburg734 exactly, this explains why SFA doesn’t need to be huge like cedar point and does get as much investment as magic mountain does.
When I went to this park firebird had just opened up after the flourless trains and it was the smoothest ride in the park and the best. I went back the next year and it was really shaky. Did not age well.
You know it's bad when your old-school vekoma flying coaster is the 2nd best coaster in your park
How is that bad? It's unique and fun. It's up there with Carrowinds lineup, too.
@@Zatoka.Nah. Batwing is #2 at SFA, behind Superman, but Nighthawk is either #5 or #6 depending on what you think of Carolina Cyclone. Either way, it's worse than Afterburn, Intimidator, Copperhead Strike, and Fury 325.
Six flags bought 4 intamin megas actually, the last one being Goliath at Six Flags Holland
True, forgot about that one because it wasn't a Superman
I rode X- Flight at "Geauga Lake" when I was little. I didn't like it and never rode it again. I didn't appreciate what I had. Lol
I feel so lucky to have gotten to experience a ultra twister marathon due to family in Japan
I will never understand why Six Flags bought this park in such a populated area with so many people around, and decided to forget about it other than an occasional hand-me-down from Great America.
Edit: And I agree: Firebird STINKS!
This park is the park that would not die.
ITS YOUR FUNERAL!!😂
I’m so happy that Mind Eraser is getting new trains! Also, can you do one of these for Great Adventure? It’s my home park and I’d love to see it featured! ❤
I honesty had no idea that so much stuff happened in this parks history...
Let’s goo! New upload!
the day i went it was overcast because it had stormed early that morning which made the park extremely empty. roar seriously needs a re-track or rmc it. i didn't mind mind eraser. rode in the front, and the only bad part was the inversion right beside the station. also congrats to batwing for being my 1st coaster that made me almost gray out. that closing helix is no joke. need to somehow find a way back so i can ride superman.
i hope they rmc roar, and then replace mind eraser with an intense b&m invert, then this park would be pretty good
Finally, my home park. I wish they would RMC roar to add a great standout. They have a few good rides, hut also a couple duds.
TBH tho, I thought firebird was just fine
I found Two Face to be a good ride compared to the abominable Mind Eraser
I agree with you about Roar, when riding towards the back. It was so shaky with nothing to redeem it. My front row ride in 2019 was not rough, but it was still totally forceless. My 2021 rides on Batwing were very smooth. I would put Firebird at the bottom, as it was that terrible for me, and I can manage those SLC restraints easier. I've had a great time at the park, as lines haven't been an issue, and they have a few great rides.
If you were to add new coasters and improve this park, what models would you choose and what else would you do
Firebird seems to be very temperamental. Sometimes it’s terrible, sometimes it’s as smooth as Griffon. The back is usually smoothest actually
10. Great Chase -- actually kind of like it.
9. Batwing -- hate it, but it is something I guess.
8. Python -- sort of good ride, awful steps.
7. Ragin Cagun -- too much spin but that last tiny airtime hill is insane.
6. Mind Eraser -- like it sometimes.
5. Firebird -- learned how to ride it somehow in 2020, not sure I still can though.
4. Joker's Jinx -- do like the hang in the cobra roll, so slow.
3. RoaR -- love it when not too much vibro.
2. Wild One -- so good
1. Superman -- of course.
Roar Has A Weak Layout Tho Even Without The Roughness
My home park. We need a new coaster…badly. Over the next 10 years, the park could benefit from RMC Roar and an indoor ride/coaster.
Ah yes the park that created one of the iconic intro images. Dont tell your satnav Chris! Although honestly I'll probably skip this park if I do a coaster trip next year. I think I might be better off in the museums of D.C for that day.
Airtime thrills: GPS, take me to Six Flags America.
GPS: we don’t do that here.
My wife and I moved from SoCal to dc for 2 years for her work and leaving magic mountain to this park as my home park was a crush to my coaster soul. However I really grew to appreciate this park for what it is. It’s a misfit of rides and feels that way but oddly it’s something
To like about it like the bad news bears. It would have been amazing if ultra twister got a new life here but the park is at it’s peak in summer. Water park and coasters in one admission is a pretty good deal and having an og intamin chute de chute I find charming. Not a great park by any stretch but for what it is , I grew to enjoy this parking during my time in the area and think fondly of it. ( back in SoCal now with mm has my home park )
12: Mind eraser, 11: Cannonball, 10: Roar, 9: Firebird, 8: Great Chase, 7: Rajin Cajun, 6: Python, 5: Two face, 4: Batwing, 3:Wild one, 2: Joker's Jinx, 1: Superman ride of steel.
I rode Mind Eraser last year and I did not think it was bad at all.
I have a method when I ride Vekoma SLCs with the original trains. I press my right ear tightly against the restraint and keep it there during the ride. When I do that the ride experience is not bad.
I would probably not say this about other b&m standup conversions to floorless, but I rode Apocalypse in 2014 and Firebird in 2021, and I actually prefered Apocalypse as it was and don't feel like it had to be converted. I don't know what they did but it slowed down dreadfully and made so many of the inversions super awkward
Been waiting for a SFA upload, now we gotta see the SFGA ranking
Yea Great Adventure has a lot of famous coasters in its past.
(if you meant great america, he already did that one)
@@loabenbozz7430 no i meant great adventure lol, that one may have to be a top 15 bc they have so many coasters
Bro, you should have put the Harley Quinn swing thing on this list. Even though it isn’t technically a roller coaster that thing is huge.. especially for a swinging carnival ride
bro its crazy how the newest coaster added is older than me by years
Love airtime thrills videos!
Jokers Jinx is definitely number 2. It’s far better and smoother than Batwing and Wild One.
Six Flags America is my home park and I’ve been going since the Wild World years. Our top-4 coasters are very fun even if they don’t rank very high on many lists. SFA will never be a top tier Six Flags park but new cars on Mind Eraser and RMCing Roar could put it toward the front of the middle tier. Disagree on ranking Roar ahead Firebird. Roar has to be the worst adult roller coast in the Six Flags chain, it manages to be both incredibly rough and remarkably boring. Firebird isn’t great but I think it’s enjoyable until the intense rattling near very end.
PS: Cal Ripken was the commercial spokesman for the park when it was Adventure World and the ads were creepy in a goofy way with a family in which everyone had Cal’s face and the Mind Eraser traveling through Cal’s head, IIRC.
Move Batwing to 4, Joker's Jinx to 3, and Wild One to 2 are my rankings. Also moving Mind Eraser to #30. They've never had that many, but it would fit great in that spot though. Everything else makes sense.
this is my really sad home park to the point where i consider hershey my home park. and i agree please rmc roar!!
Sounds like someone who's into movies recommending the Human Centipede
When here back in Apirl with my friend, she thought FireBird was rough and she wanted to ride the closed the SLC lol
you called python a swartzkopf shuttle loop lmao
former employee of six flags america, mind eraser according to higher ups is being removed due to not having the budget for parts.
Broke and fell my glasses in wild one
Maybe Mind Eraser gets those T3 trains😂
Why does this have to be my home park lol
But hey, definitely agree with the bottom two here, much rather ride a kiddie coaster over ... those.
This used to be closer to me than Kings Dominion, yet I never went there. Rode past it though.
Chris, when is my video idea going to be posted?
Hii! I’m going here with my family many ppl say it the line is to long and it feels empty and not much rides. Would u suggest going here?
I don’t understand the lack of investment in this place. It’s within one of the largest, most affluent metros in the country. It seems like, with some new rides and a little TLC, this place could easily pull 2.5 million visitors a year.
Video idea: Ranking all the defunct coaster you have ridden. It's a good way to flex your coaster credits.
This video is definitely out there
Can you do a supervideo ranking all current six flags and cedar fair coasters 😂
Ha...possibly. i did promise to rank all my credits when i hit 100k

I know of this place from HBO's The Wire
Oh yes. The sad park I will be going to next month.
I love the vids havent watched in a while but im easing back into roller coasters, I live in the baltimore ish area so SFA is my home park its pretty good but they dont have one stick out elite coaster everyhting is just kinda alright except maybe suoerman and batwing are a little higher up everything else is just good or meh so i think with mind eraser most likely getting removed I think this would be great for a stunt pilot kind of rmc single rail, if they choose to keep Mind eraser I dont see why they shouldnt just go ahead and rmc Roar maybe do a little more than Joker at discovery kingdom and get and elite coaster, then if they end up getting ride of mind eraser I would try and connect that plot of land with the batwing kinda area and give themselves more space to build a better coaster since they own all that land back ther and maybe they can turn it into a destination park, thats just my take tho.
Exactly. They have a decent lineup but maybe if they had another good coaster or 2 more people would come out there

My bad
My brother got a concussion from rajun cajun when it was still at great america. I think we got like 2 free drink bottles and like bring a friend for free passes
In case you're wondering, Iron Wolf wasn't great either. A little better than Vortex at Carowinds, I'd say.

Firebird was horrible as a stand up as well. Rode it as Iron Wolf at Great America back when it first opened.
Great adventure soon? 👀
Just wanna say as a DC local this park is extremely difficult to get to by public transportation. Like, not even worth it whatsoever. I really hope the park gets more investments so they’ll consider adding easier metro services (it’s all about the $$$$)
Love your videos, so glad to see you cover my home park!
Six Flags America isn’t that bad. No lines for anything means nonstop fun, even with their mediocre rides.
A Vekoma flying dutchman is quite unique, Premier spaghetti bowls are always fun, a great classic woodie, and even a low-tier Intamin hyper is amazing. I love their top 4, and I love the short lines. Highly underrated park!
