You have no idea lol
Not even in the first dungeon and already lost. He might have trouble with the late-game dungeons.
Thieves hideout. 'Nuff said.
Ice dungeon will probably make him quit the game. Along with Turtle Rock.
I had to follow along with a video. 2 years after starting and I’m still in the Dark World. That momment you think your done, but you have to do 7 more dungeons in an alternate version. 😬
@@happyzeldagamer3517 Skull Woods too
I really enjoyed how much DeeBee recognized in this game sampling: The Triforce, the songs, the layout of the land... He's really absorbed a lot of Zelda in these past few months. Warms me heart.
“You expect majora episode 2, huh? Have this instead”
I screamed at the notification 🤣
@@robertsmith1994rs77 😂
Yes I've been waiting for that second Majora's Mask video guess we got to wait a little bit longer
So no zelda video again for this week? 😪
From someone who has played all the Zelda games I van assure you that this is a gem 💎
By all I suppose you also have played the sequel to this
@Voodo Emix obviously links awakening and the oracle games depending on which you believe came first or last are very amazing games

@Voodo Emix wdym I don’t recall there bring a sequel on the satella unless * cdi flashbacks
@@hamiltonfan9405 yeah, there was an official sequel, exactly when Link departs for his journey, another evil wave of darkness curses Hyrule and a Hero of Light is summoned by Zelda and Sahasrahla.

That was what i came to comment too.
To be fair, the game doesn't tell you at all up until the very end
His name is Bob.
The first episode, also known as: 'The one where Deebeegeek tries pulling everything except pots.'
Well, until a certain point at least.
Now I understand the frustration many people went through watching him play OoT
Hurts my LoZ soul......so much....
You have to keep in mind he played the only zelda game where you can't lift the pots until you get the power bracelet/glove before this one (link's awakening).

DeeBee and his girlfriend played one session of Link's Awakening (remake) on stream, and I think she might have had the controls.
@@MostlyLost 2.5D doesn't exists, even with 3D models, Link's Awakening for Switch is still a 2D game, as it only uses the X and Y axis.

Yeah lmao
@Brief Keef six years is considered eons now?
@@fletch-a-sketch9250 I mean 6 years is a whole console generation on average
@Brief Keef Neither is it yours
@Brief Keef I wouldn't say a mere six years apart is eons. It was only a short while before. This is also the first game to refer to Ganondorf by his full name rather than only "Ganon". ALttP is just a super important game in the series, in my opinion. It's so good.

Also Debeegeek: "Oh this is so cool, it's like Link's Awakening!"
His girlfriend played Link's Awakening with him at her side.
Well....he's not wrong.
Well the only version of Link's Awakening he has experienced is TECHNICALLY 3D... Just from a top-down perspective.
He played the 3d Switch remake with his gf
I will more likely accept the reply about his gf playing instead (although he was at least backseating heavily) than those saying the remake is 3D because it's so not. 3D models don't make a game 3D if the view and gameplay is still top-down.
You gotta play this one to the end or your zelda marathon won't be official
Definitely.
I agree. Also, The Zelda Oracle ones and minish cap. And the DS and 3DS ones too. Well... All Zeldas for a complete experience.
@@simaofiterman2858 the oracles ones are a bit old, as they are on the game boy... They shod really make a remake for them

I started with wind waker, oracle of seasons, twilight princess and link to the past.
Its quite the adventure getting into the series when there is so many to enjoy
I am so glad they made a link between worlds after this.
Give or take 22 years but ye
Yeah since it’s much much better
This was my first legend of zelda game that came with four swords as well and so many years later when link between worlds came out I played it to death. It was incredible!
Links awakening is actually the direct sequel to this game, and it takes place right after it with the same reincarnation of link!
I tought Link Between worlds was the direct sequel. And by the end of one of the oracle games, that they were prequel to awakening. Well... guess i have to check the oficial timeline 🤔
@@simaofiterman2858 the oracle games, a link to the past, and links awakening are the only time the same link has been in four games, and until botw2 they are the only time there has been a trilogy of the same link. A link between worlds is the SPIRITUAL sequel to a link to the past, and happens only a couple decades afterwards, but is not considered a sequel since the main character is a different link.
@@thetwizard9290
Wait, isn't ALttP Link the only version of him? The Oracle games are a prequel to Link's Awakening, and ALBW & Triforce Heroes are connected with each other as those two are the same Link.
@@fabuloussuperstar588 I am confused by what you mean by “the only version of him”. Most games, with the exception of direct sequels, have completely different reincarnations of link, as they take place decades, centuries, millennia, and even tens of millennia apart
@@thetwizard9290
That's what I meant, it's his only reincarnation of any other game. No other Link of the other games is the same ALttP Link. You get what I mean?
Ngl, this gameplay would've made my younger self feel so good about himself.
It's funny that you immediately pull at everything you see when going inside a house
A surprise awaits 😂
This game and Twilight Princess have a special place in my heart. Many memories from childhood just by listening to the intro music
The "Wise Men" were the Sages. They changed to Sages in Ocarina of Time's translation because most of them were girls. In the GBA port they replaced the term "Wise Men" with "Sages".
Actually, I believe the original Super Famicom (Japanese) version of ALttP was Seven Sages, it was Nintendo of America that incorrectly translated it to Seven Wise Men.
@@xxglitchygamesxx1038 That's what I was trying to say but couldn't, thank you, english is not my first language hahaha
@@Mari_Izu I understand! It's all good 👍
@@xxglitchygamesxx1038 I'm pretty sure the term used can translate to both, so it's not _inherently_ wrong.
Since we never meet them or learn about them individually in this world that term makes sense, at the time.
I suppose it's also possible they thought "no one will know what a 'sage' is", while also thinking " 'wise men'
fits well with the backstory in the intro/manual" since it refers to events from "a long time ago".
@@xxglitchygamesxx1038 You are correct but it wasn't a translation mistake. They deliberately changed it to _wise men_ because at the time NoA had the policy of removing all religious content and references from their games. This is also why the _temples_ became _palaces_ in the English version. It might also be the reason why the game's Japanese title _Triforce of the Gods_ was changed into the pun we know and love. By the time OoT released they had dropped this policy.
My favourite 2d zelda game. It really hits the nostalgia hard. You will definitely enjoy this game.
Ocarina is the best 3d game, but I figured this be the favorite 2d. What is your favorite 2d
The BEST 2d Zelda game too.
This one is so great, y'all're right
@@kylebrennan6028 Most if not all the other 3d zelda games have surpassed Oot by far lmao
But i guess its your opinion
One of the best games of The Legend Of Zelda
By the way, DeeBee, the Link from Link's Awakening is this same Link. That game is a direct sequel of this one.
Same with the two Oracle games.
@@RobGamesOn Nintendo retconned that some years ago.
@@Mari_Izu they only retconned where in the timeline that the Oracle games take place in relation to the Fallen Timeline. I believe the original had Link's Awakening before the Oracle games whereas the retcon has Link's Awakening take place after. Oracle, Awakening, and Past Link are all the same "Hero of Legend" Link.
@@RobGamesOn Correct! Either way, it’s the same *Link* in all those games. Making him the most experienced *Link* in all the timelines.
@@RobGamesOn Originally it was Oracles before LA with the same Link, now they're after Link's Awakening with a different Link.
Link's Awakening is the direct sequel to this game!
Not so much a sequel, but definitely an incredibly similar look and feel. Imagine that - this is a "new and upgraded" zelda game for the SNES, and Link's Awakening ran on the OG GameBoy, which is less powerful than the NES.
The direct sequel is actually "a link between worlds" pretty much same map layout with different mechanics
Nah, the direct sequel is Ancient Stone Tablets. The story takes place exactly after the Hero leaves Hyrule
@@danielbjerga4954 no, the direct sequels are the Oracle Of Seasons/Ages. At the end of those Link departs in a boat and that's where Link's Awakening comes in. It's this same link in those games.
Link Between Worlds takes place in this same time line but many years later and is a different Link.
@@OhadLutzky Awakening is indeed a direct sequel to ALttP, as it's Link has already met Zelda, fought Moldorm and Ganon. The Oracles games were placed later to bridge the gap between ALttP and Awakening, since Link already collected the Triforce at the end of ALttP (and OoA/S starts with all three together) and ends with Link sailing away on the same boat he starts Awakening on to go back to Hyrule.
I was floored to even watch someone play this a year or so after it came out. And it was fantastic when I actually got to play it. It's aged incredibly well and I hope you enjoy it too!

@@martfp88 Nice mon. I can understand that, it's all subjective - especially with Zelda as there are many great choices. Nostalgia is definitely a factor for me. I personally don't care for BotW for instance hahaha
I remember playing this back in the 90s. I thought i would just sit in the bed to see what happened. My older brothers told me Ganon would grab me from under the bed and take me to the final battle, which i would obviously lose lol
I once heard a story about someone who rang the official Nintendo helpline in the 90s about Link to the Past. "Help, I'm stuck! I'm at the start of the game. My uncle told me to stay here and then he left the house. I've been waiting for half an hour and nothing's happened. Link's still just lying in bed. What do I do?"

Same here! After I beat it I got Zelda 1&2.
The 6 years of waiting for a new Zelda was too long for child me, and PlayStation already had a Final Fantasy and Castlevania, so I got a ps1 instead of N64.
So glad this was finally uploaded! I’m sure many people will like this and hopefully will result in you playing it all the way through! I would play it for the first time alongside you as well! So this is really exciting! Thanks for another vid Deebee!!
Most favorite game of all time, and the first game I ever remember playing, I remember the day like it was yesterday, it was a foggy morning and my mum and dad were trying to find a daycare for me, we went to this big red brick building with loads of toys lining the walls inside, but at the far end of the room, was a dinky looking entertainment dresser with an snes on it with a small CR TV on the top, I remember plugging the cartridge into the machine, hearing the rupee sound effect, seeing the triforce come together with the triumphant music playing, my life changed from that moment on
(Cue the heavenly choir and shaft of light)
Love ya Dee Bee, I just can't believe how lucky I'm that I got you in my recommendation months ago. Just enjoy yourself and send lots of love to Dee Bee Girl too, I love it when she comes ❤
💚
Agree! The first Breath of the Wild video was in my recommended a few months ago and I've kept up with the Zelda and Xenoblade videos. They're fantastic! I still haven't played Majora's Mask though so I haven't been watching those ones
i cant wait to see your reactions to all the cool upgrades you can get in this game.
This was my very first Zelda game. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting on the living room floor, watching while my mum played it. At the time I was too young to do much myself except run around Kakariko and cry when the women called the guards lol
Then we got burgled and our SNES and all our games were stolen. We eventually got another SNES and more games when a family friend bought a PlayStation instead and gave us theirs, but we were never able to get hold of Zelda again. When I was probably about 10 or 11 I saved up my pocket money for ages and then begged my dad to use his card buy one I found on Yahoo Auctions, and I was finally able to play it properly :D
Watching Dee Bee jam out to Zelda's lullaby and Kakariko Village is beautiful. Also, I love that they used this main overworld theme as King Rhoam's theme in Breath of the Wild
Will you make a full series?

"It's like Link's Awakening"
Well, Link's Awakening was originally going to be a handheld port of A Link to the Past.
One of my top favorite Zelda games!
I’m 53 and played this when it first came out back in the early 90s. Freaking awesome!! I’ve played a dozen times. I also introduced my teenagers to it and they love it! Currently playing it on my daughters 3Ds and right at the end. Yes I’m an old school old Zelda lover!!😂

Dee Bee Geek, almost every Zelda games controls are the same. Usually the B button is sword, Y and X button are your items, and A is roll. L is usually to target things and R is to use your shield. For 2D zelda games however, the A is to lift things while L is to use an item that I will not explain because of spoilers😉😉
This is when the zelda series really hit it's stride. Also for reference this version of the game has an older translation so some terms aren't totally accurate to the japanese version. So to translat: The Golden Land is the Sacred Realm and The Seven Wise Men are the Seven Sages. In fact they're the same Seven sages from Ocarina of time. This game takes place in an alternate timeline that occurs if you lost against ganon in Ocarina.
Also fun fact. Link's awakening was originally conceptualized as a Gameboy port of a Link to the Past before it took on it's own life as an original game.
Man this game brings back memories... I can never remember which Zelda game is which, but the opening theme sparked every memory I've had of this game.
Ive been waiting for this playthrough!
Something about this game and Super Metroid stuck with me the most. The music, atmosphere and story just were so perfect so i love how youtubers immediately point out these things.
I watched this during your stream!
I do hope you get to continue playing this particular game. *A Link to the Past* had always been my favorite (and 1st Zelda game as a child) but what I love most about it is how it was essentially a blueprint for *Ocarina of Time*
You’re going to notice a lot of similarities in both the game design and also the narrative.
This game is one of my favorites! Thanks for playing it, Dee!
Really hope to see you complete this one!
This is definitely in my top 3 favorite Zelda games. I'm so happy to see you dwelve into that world!! Watching Dee Bee play my favorite series and experience the magic is so wholesome! Though I never got to play it (I could only watch my friends play it on their consoles) I always loved the story. :)
ALttP was my early childhood Zelda game even before the time of OoT which dominated my early school years. This game will always hold a special place and my heart and will forever be nostalgic. Like, seriously, The Legend of Zelda series has always been where Nintendo does everything they can to push the boundaries on what can be done for each console generation in terms of presentation and technology. They literally invented the concept of using internal cartage batteries for saving data with the first Zelda on NES and have typically innovated with each new Zelda on each new platform.
