This must be my all time favorite version of this beautiful duet. Beňačková at her finest, absolutely wonderful singing. Heppner 's Czech is great, as well as singing. Bravi tutti.

Great upload! Many thanks. Rusalka's final words "Za tvou lasku, za tu krasu tvou, za tvou lidskou vasen nestalou, za vsechno, cim klet jest osud muj - lidska duse, Buh te pomiluj!" leave me devastated. :-)

What a voice she has! That last Ab. How dare the audience clap before the end and ruin one of the most beautiful endings in all opera.

Wau Ben's Czech is great! Gabi was definitely "the Rusalka", Renee Fleming was a great admirer. Love this.

I saw this production live and it still stands as one of the most stellar things I've ever seen on a live stage - especially the very ending. Benackova was in her vocal prime and was vocally flawless throughout the entire opera but the ending! When Heppner summons her to show herself, she shot up straight up from the "water" like a bulllet and every part of her was white. Her face, neck, hands, with a long white wig. It was the most haunting thing Ive ever seen. When she finally kisses the Prince and he lies lifeless in her arms, Benackova blankly stares out, places him on the ground and then walks across the water with the same blank look since she has no feelings as a will-o'-the-wisp, and sinks slowly back down into the lake with her upreached hand submerging beneath the water being the last thing you saw as the curtain perfectly closed in synchronicity with the last note. I have been looking for this for years, thanks so much for posting, What I wouldn't give to see the visuals of this performance which were equally on par with the magical singing that night,

Hi! May I ask if this 2013/2014 Otto Schenk production the same one you saw? Just curious.
