I am an Aussie Girl that was in PCB when Hurricane Michael hit. My plane landed 12 hours before Hurricane Michael hit PCB.
Panama City beach is my fav city
My mom was stuck down there which i was in tally. I talked to her on the phone until there was no service. Last thing she said was shit just got real and that was it. I finally heard from her the next day..
I don't understand why they don't build with concrete cinder blocks and concrete roof. I live in typhoon alley and where earthquakes happen and the home here must be made of cinder block and concrete and be able to withstand t5 typhoons.
I was there. It was the something serious.
Apparently this was one of the few hurricanes whose strongest side was on the northwest instead of the northeast.
No the strongest was the southeast side look at Mexico Beach.

Got to go with real bricks and good cement mixed for rebuilding. Wood , metal beams and aluminum sheets are not good enough.

@@randyjohnson805 One major difference between this hurricane and Andrew, damage wise anyhow, is this hurricane has only four confirmed tornado spawns versus the twenty eight that Andrew spawned.
That can make the damage way worse for obvious reasons.

Michael made landfall at peak intensity with 155 mph winds while Andrew has 175 mph winds and made landfall at 160 mph winds

Nah man. I've looked into the fake weather part they're talking about. Dorian sat on the Bahamas. That crap ain't natural. Hurricanes don't do that.
