  • This was a requested walk by viewer BigS. Unbeknownst to me, my mic was making a weird crinkling sound thoughout the video. I had changed up its position on my collar, but I guess not good enough. I also just realized that I had on a different scarf that my mic was clipped on, fabric does make the difference, I guess.

Beautiful sunny day, I'd love to be there, Halifax is a hidden gem of the Atlantic, I really enjoyed the tour Bevie, hoping to watch more of this stunning city.

I absolutely love pedways! In Texas we call them skybridges. I used to work in downtown Houston and there's a few skybridges. These pedways are a great way to get unique views of the city and avoid bad weather. Thanks to BigS for suggesting this video and lovely Bevie for taking us on the walk!

Great video! By the time I got my driver's license, Woolco would have been gone. A little bit of history I didn't know..

Hi Bevie a Beautiful video of your Downtown pedway we have a few of them here in Downtown Calgary .I don't go Downtown very often these days as I never need to only when I need to go to do some Business and meet up some friends every once in a while. The next time I am down there I will try and take a video and show all your guys on the channel. Once again great filming and Narration Bevie will look forward to the next video. Oh I Remember woolco from the old days I feel old now 🤣🤣.

Always wondered if a person could walk all the way through those walkways
Now I know. And it called the Ordway. Thanks. Very informative

I recall from a business trip to Minneapolis that there are pedways between some of their buildings. Always thought Chicago needed them, too.

Thank you I’ll be in Halifax April 2023 and this confirmed that I chose the right hotel for me. Hotel Halifax. If can do the walk or tell me the video to get from the Hotel to Neptune Theatre it would be appreciated

That was a nice long inside walk. Great for those bad weather shopping days when and if we ever get back to just browsing from store to store. Thank you for sharing your city.

Thanks, Vivian. Stores are open here, just that Scotia Square is closed on holidays.

In Toronto, the only Pedway we have is the Skywalk but it's very short, about 500 metres long.

Is that the connector between the Eaton Ctr and the Bay dept store?

@@Just_BevieYHZ No no, it's between Union station and the CN Tower/Skydome (Rogers Centre)

The hotel was a block up from the CN hotel and train station. Unfortunately I couldn't read at the time but from visual memory I am thinking it was on Holis street. Unfortunately when i went back there it was from memory and i didn't look at the name of the street. But i spoke to a cab driver who said the hotel was ripped down quite a while back. It was a four story hotel with a small restaurant on it's right side as you entered the premises. The hotel also had 2 outside brown colored metal staircases on the side of it that was facing the CN hotel and train station. I believe it was a fire escape route. The CN hotel was maybe 6 to 8 floors in height and was really classy where as The Cornwallis was let's say just was.

I've never heard of the Cornwallis hotel or the Acadia, must've been way before my time. I've lived in the city for 25 yrs and have seen many changes. What street was it on?
I'll let Mark know of the suggestion, too.
