Brian, I my opinion the biggest appeal of your channel is you. You are so informal and personable, and you are the only content creator I know of who uses their car as their video studio! So, my first suggestion is to keep being you and doing what got you to 10k+ subscribers. As for sharing photos - only do so when they are making a point or showing something about a bit of kit. Plenty of "photography" channels out there for skills lessons. I do like your reviews, but I think what makes them special is that many are of lesser known or lower cost kit that still can deliver a big bang for the buck. Not everyone can afford the latest or most expensive gear, so keep giving the "tasty bits" a lot of love as you have been. Having said that, if you find a new product that pleases you or you think more should know about, then share it.
But, the most important thing I would ask is that you keep talking about the point of photography, as you do so often. For those of us who want to keep our photography fun and therapeutic, it's way too easy to get caught up in GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), or pixel peeping, or format wars, and other distractions. I find photos I took years ago with gear I sold to get "better" that really please me. They convey a feeling, or tell a story, or otherwise do what good photos should do. You are one of the few who talk about this with such practical sincerity, directly to every one of your viewers, right there from your car. Keep it up, Brian.

I really like when you throw in a product review here and there. I just like the very friendly and positive vibes I get watching your channel.
Also, I am a micro 4/3rd fan even though I mostly shoot using a full frame camera. I always liked the MFT format.

I find your channel kind of refreshing, actually. It's a 'vlog', right? You talk about what you like and what you use and how you like it and how it is to use. That's a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the sparkly channels that are like "this forgotten digicam takes endless film-like photos" (no it doesn't) or "why fuji is amazing" / "why you should stop buying fuji", or "why you should never use ISO 100" or all that crap. It's actually one of the reasons I decided to go with m43 when I was buying a more modern camera to get back into photography after a long absence.

I like long videos, 20min plus. I like road trip vids, photography waffling, no need for fancy editing. I also like some talking while driving type content, then video of the destination and places along the way, kind of allows me to enjoy it vicariously.

Brian, I subscribe to your channel because I like you and what you talk about. You would not recommend a camera or a lens that you would not use yourself (assuming money is no object). If you like something you say it, if you don't like something you say it - politely. This is very good formula. More importantly, I value your views on photography and how you evaluate a shot & etc. You are doing the job right, because you are being you. I am a pro public speaker and the #1 requirement of that role is to be "authentic" - which is just a very fancy way of saying, "Just be yourself". You do not really to review new products. There is nothing broken with your channel, so there is nothing to fix. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hi Brian, I enjoy all you do. My request would be to revisit some of the older and smaller M43 kit in 2024, not technical reviews but just using the stuff out and about. You have covered a lot in the past but there is no harm in revisiting :-) Portraits of interesting local people (who give permission) and how you approach that would be great too.

    Hi Brian,
One very simple way to cope with any pressure is to vent it.
So, if potential supplier X, who wants you to do a review, and feeds you what they want you to say with a slogan, introduce it as such. Along the lines of what these people want me to say is blah, blah, blah, so if you hear it somewhere else, you know who wrote it and where it came from. Now, here's what I think...
As a regular viewer of many channels, such an approach would be most refreshing, and if you review some things that quite frankly you're not interested in and definitely don't like you could have some real fun...
One of my favourite channels is camera conspiracies. I would recommend you watch it as it may help you to deal with the pressures you're feeling.
It can be a hilarious watch as after slating a product either out and out or tongue in cheek, the host asks with a straight face for you to buy it from the links below.
The fact is that host has been coping with CZcams pressures for years, so it works for him. Have fun finding your own venting mechanism and share it with us.

I watched Paul’s video last night, as I follow his channel, and it was very different. It’s amazing how many photographers have arisen from mental health backgrounds, or all the stress of today’s workplaces and living. Another is Alister Benn of Expressive Photography, amongst others. So yes, a very beneficial video. I’m quite happy with the way you are going, but absolutely adore it when you get out and about. I too subjected myself to the 12-100mm, but have to wait for it. It’s you I have to thank to make me check it out - again! It was on special, so I ordered it☹️. Haven’t told him yet. 😂

Please continue to review products and follow up on them as with the Osmo questions. You tend to always give the good, bad and ugly, but leave us to decide if it's ok for us. Hi Brian, Your passion for photography and what you do is clearly evident in your videos. Re: the gear reviews, if it is a piece of kit that you believe is useful to you in what you do then why not review it? Personally I believe you get the balance right. Unlike some more prominent folks on this platform who just show new products and nothing much more.
I appreciate it’s a balancing act but please don’t let it cause you to overthink it.
Enjoy Cyprus, just got back from there and the weather was great.

Hi Brian. I really enjoy your style of vlogging and its interesting content. The pressure to find something new and interesting to talk about must be very difficult for you I'm sure. The gear reviews you do are beneficial to us all, due to your stance on only reviewing what you would use yourself. I am sixty four now, and don't really do social media, think i missed the boat on that one 😂 Photography for me is a way of getting out and about to help deal with the stress of modern life. So in answer to your question, don't change anything about your channel, we like you and your channel just the way you are 👍

I have a problem with teaching someone how to take photos without losing his interest and getting too complicated. Five minutes for composition is kind of ok. Five minutes for light - not so much. But when I get to speeds and aperture it's game over, don't even get to sensitivity or exposure triangle

On paid content, only promote stuff that you would use or you think your viewers would find useful. Check out the advertisers as you don't want to be involved with "selling small parts of Scotland and becoming a Laird". Film the promo separately from your actual content and place a caption on screen "Paid Content".
Your viewers should have no issues with this as sponsorship helps pay for your channel.
Also keep the mix of tips, tricks, reviews and monologues. Also photo walks with real life use of kit are fun.

Keep most of, if not all of your content based around what YOU want to create. Unless you're trying to grow as quickly as possible. In that case create what YOU want most often and throw some algorithm grabbing videos on occasion. Whatever you decide, try not to make CZcams a stressful part of your life.

If you do not enough experience about reviewing a product, this can lead to a lot of discussion from fanboys, who doesn't like your reviews.
