Thanks so much for your help on Daniel. I'm actually on my front lever journey right now. Your channel is amazing. I've been following up on your content for years since I started my calisthenics journey years and years ago. Keep up the awesome work you do, always on point and quality information.
Yeaa even I saw tutorials which said if the scapula is not protracted the front lever looks ugly but whoever I saw doing a front lever, nobody did that so i figured that u just have to try to do that to get a solid hold.... Thankuuuuuu💪🔥
i love this new way of explaining technique that you've done for a few vids now. it's insanely thorough-- and it's not as if it weren't obvious that you knew your stuff before! also, this is just really funny to me, i'm American but i find myself saying "lever" as "lee-ver" now in your accent because i hear you say it so often that i unconsciously picked it up 😂
I've been waiting for this one for a long time. Especially the part about the scapulae position in front lever. I would add a small trick - once you grip the rings (or the bar) squeeze tightly with your hands, as if you are trying to crush them in your palms. From personal observation, it gives me a little bit of extra strength which matters when I have just jumped into a higher progression or longer hold.
I love how you mentioned sqeezing the knees together. This made a huge difference for me. At 4:55 can you explain a bit more what you mean by "relaxed at the trunk?"
The arched back was me when i did FL raises 😅 …. I also have problems with full straight arms 😩🙈😅 .. at least i can pull into a tuckFL which is hard as he says 😅
Do you recommend to train the front lever by using resistance bands (around the hips)? At the moment i am hanging around in the straddle front lever and i am not able to hold the full front lever without the small band...
Hey! Please let me know how u think about the width of your hands while doing front lever, is it better to do it shoulder broad?..because i feel like if u dont have a strong retraction its impossible to hold it when ur hands are close and ur shoulders get tensed in that position, kinda weird feeling. Please, let me know as soon as u have time. Thank you!!
Hello, can I have one question please? Which exercise is best for lower lats? The width of the back is good at the top, but I can't get it all the way down (with own weight). Thank you for your creation.
@wallesdrop3026 been trying to do FL pull ups but I barely see any progress currently. Can only do a few band assisted ones. Victorian is not a goal currently
I find the tuck to extend too much of a sudden jump in postural change and weight. Raising from the bottom will be more beneficial in the long run, definitely recommend that method. Adding dragon flag training did help me get the FL as it trains under the skill and over the skill at the same time. If your goal is FL, training FL rest Dragon Flag rest FL rest rest is a good structure to go by. 4 to 6 sets @ 50-70% maximal effort.
@@guillermoruiz1825 Not when combined with high volume. I found that it's the best way to train a static skill. You want to spend as much time in the correct shape as possible, going for high effort will cause form breakdown.
@@guillermoruiz1825 i didn't asked the question correctly i mean what is the base that i need to have in weighted pull ups before attempting the front lever
One arm pullup will use a lot of the same musculature and recovery as the front lever. If you try both, you'll have to do less of both, and progress slower. In his other vids he suggested doing one push skill and one pull skill at once
I'll disagree with the false grip being easier. lengthening the lever should result in more force, because the shorter the lever, the more contracted you have to have your lats in order to get into the horizontal position. a longer arm lever lets you open up the angle of the shoulder which makes muscle recruitment easier (think pullups, getting to upper arms parallel is easier than going all the way up, bringing hands to shoulders). I believe geek climber did a test with this where he fashioned hooks that extended his armlength and could hold higher progressions. having said that, false grip does increase muscular tension throughout the arm, and we all know a rigid body transfers power easier than a non-rigid one. so i'm sure there's some tradeoff.
Am I supposed to be using "Posterior pelvic tilt" when working all the progressions? I'm on the step 2 untuck front lever. POSTERIOR pelvic tilt? Thank you for your advice if anyone sees this?😂😂
@@guillermoruiz1825its different, full protraction in planche is good but full retraction in front lever istn realy feasible when our arms are angled like this
@@guillermoruiz1825 I agree, I am going through the front-lever journey and I find only a little bit of retraction is perfect for me and feels most stable
I train front lever today and can hold it 11secs on the first of my 3 tries after 4 rest days for upper body whereas my max is around 25secs. I don't understand.. Front lever progression is very variable and frustrating.
Jesus Christ is Lord. He is coming back. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Perfect timing. I was thinking of learning front lever. Thanks!!
Dragon Flags bro
@@Tacit_TernThe dragon flag helps to understand hip extension with pelvic retroversion of the front lever, but it is not a necessary regression
Good luck with the progressions. Don't forget to build your pull-up strength as the back gains will help with front lever too.
The reliability of these tutorials is incredible, tips off for the hard work behind these videos and formats. Congrats, new sub here
Nice summary of front lever hold. Needed this! You’re the best teacher. With thanks!!!
Really, really great format, thanks! 💪
Very well said and explained! Thank you. 👍🙏

Congrats bro. Whats your weight and hight?
Do you have prerequisites you’d recommend before starting front lever training? How do you know if you’re ready to start?

What about elbows and shoulders? Should i aim to rotate it so my elbow pits will look straight into my face or just leave it naturally?
Is it okay if i do the fornt lever with chip up grips?
Currently stuck on a 12s FL max. Hoping to get to 20s one day.
10s is enough. train victorian or fl pull ups
I have 3seconds but i can do a lot of pull ups😂
You guys can do fl😢. Congrats mahn. Im on the way.😊

what is the recommendation for weighted pull up before training the fl?

I mean I lost my progression that i have achieve frog front lever with a good form and now i cant even do advanced tuck front lever with a good form
It does make my form a bit sloppy
ok i cannot even do the first step .... keep my pull ups routine for some more time
