Tom thanks for the review. I wanted to get this as a portable grill and will now pivot over to a traveler. You saved me from making the wrong purchase. Appreciate you!
Thanks for Watching! Good choice!
Great Review Tom had mine just over 4 months now , also picked up the new Rotisserie here in Australia and some more Qware pans
Thanks for watching! Appreciate you stopping by! Enjoy!
Nice review Tom. The Q's are nice grills and are more useful than most people think. I got a used Q200 (with the patio stand) for $60 a few years. Cleaned it up and bought new grates for it and it's been humming along ever since. Cooking indirect with a deflector and a trivet works really well on these. The new 2800 looks good to me. I like the taller lid vs the traveller. Maybe I can find a used one in about 10 years!
Thanks for Watching Jim! Appreciate the feedback
Hey Tom. I won a Webber Q 1000 around 18 years ago from Osco drug. Still running strong. I just made some skirt steak this afternoon on it. I love the Q's.
Thanks for Watching! Enjoy!
So happy I just bought a Traveler instead of the Q+. I bought it mainly on your rave reviews of it, and did my first cook on the Traveler today. It is one heck of a portable grill.
Thanks for watching Brian! Enjoy!
I like that design over the Q2200. I was disappointed with the older Q2200 with only one burner, so I bought the Napoleon Travel Q Pro285 which has independent left and right burners and a taller lid. I was very pleased with it so I bought a second one. What is disappointing about Napoleon is the lack of accessories, like rotisserie, in the US market.
Thanks for watching Rick! Appreciate the feedback
Nice video as always, Tom! Any chance we can see this baby grill something?
Thanks for watching! I’ll have a video soon!
I’m thinking to get a 250° temperature with that middle burner. The odds would be much better if you’re cooking outside during a north Dakota winter.
Thanks for the review. I have a Q and this one fixes the high and low temp problems with that one. I don't use gas enough to spend the money for the upgrade.
Thanks for Watching!
Nice review, I own a Q320 which is a great grill. My girl friend wants this one as a backup. Two Q's are better than one. 700 degree max temp very nice
Thanks for watching Daren! Enjoy!
I had a Napoleon Travel Q, this Weber looks very similar in design minus the legs and shelves, one of the things I hated about the Napoleon was the vents, because the wind would snuff out the flame, the vents on this Weber are almost the same shape and location as the Napoleon, just be wary. I ditched my Napoleon and purchased a Weber Traveler, very happy and a bit more grilling room.😋
Thanks for Watching! I also have the Traveler
Great review. I don't like the flimsy side tables either but not a deal breaker. I'm a Weber Master Touch guy but looking for quick and easy weeknight cooks when time is limited. I really like the double burner option for those times when high temps (500* ish) need to be maintained but can't think of any reason to hit 700*. In your opinion, is it overkill or worth the extra burner? Have you ever needed more than 500*? Have you added any accessories like the griddle or rotisserie? Also, I'm mainly cooking for just two but always make enough for leftovers. IYKYK. Is it more grill than I need? Thx again for an honest review. Charlie in Alaska.
Thanks for Watching Charlie! I do like the higher temps for the quick sear. Enjoy!
Great review. I does look like the burners are indeed removable though, when loosing those two screws on the right, no? Same as the 2nd gen. Q's.
Thanks for Watching! Possibly….
Great review Tom. Aside from how those shelves attach, it seems if you put any weight on them the bend and slick plastic surface will make a nice ski slope for your meal. I think Weber missed an opportunity to do this right. If they were going with 2 burners, they should have put them side by side. You'd then stand a decent chance at an indirect cook.
Thanks for watching Ted! Agreed
Weber has absolutely lost their ever loving minds on pricing!
Thanks for watching!
Great review Tom……for my money I’m not so sure……why cheap out on the side shelves? Why not make them from aluminum? I am a big fan of Weber however!
@Rbouch Thanks for watching Robert! I agree
Hi Tom, I currently have the 22" Ketel BBQ and the Q200. Both are old but work fine so I am not sure if I will replace the Q200, but if I was to look at a new one what would you think about comparing a Q+ 2800N+ say with a Spirit II E-320? If you don't move the BBQ around, does it make sense to get a Q BBQ? They are both around £600 so I want to ensure I am getting something for the money.
Thanks for watching! The Spirit is very good gas grill
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thanks, I will look at that, as I don't want to go to the new Q and be disappointed as it is only marginally better than what I have.
I have a Q3000 (in Europe), and find this interesting. I do not think it is quite low enough for real “low and slow” with 300F in the lid and 300F and 275F in some places inside, but I love the Q for everything else.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback
So, if I wanted to sear and then cook slow, you would put the meat to the middle or shut off the main and keep them to side?
Thanks for Watching! Yes
It can cook low and slow but only with direct heat. That extra burner runs right down the middle. It looks like a "solution in need of a problem". Are the grill "feet" in a location that will match up with the Weber pull-cart made for the other Q grills?
Thanks for Watching! Not sure
No, the pull cart for the Q 1000 & 2000 series doesn’t work with the 2800N+, but they do make a folding cart for it as well as a stationary one. The stationary one is $100, and the folding pull cart is $130. Hope this is helpful.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback
These grills should immediately stop being sent out with those side tables. Mine arrived from Weber and one of the side tables latches was broken off. There was no damage to the delivery box so maybe it shifted somehow during packaging process. Weber has a new side table on the way to replace it.
The notch in the lid holds a probe clip. Pinch and slide into the notch.
Thanks for watching! That’s interesting….
I’m thinking of buying the 2800N Does it come with the long propane hose to hook up to the 20lb big propane tank?
Thanks for Watching! Did you watch the video?
Yes naturally. 😇 I saw you had the long propane hose and came out of the box. But watched every videoI could find of the Q2800N that other unboxing videos did not show the propane hose coming out of the box. Extra $44 if it doesn’t. Im in the US
Yours was the best video of all covered everything. I even subscribed.
Can you tell me what size Vevor table you have?
Thanks
Thanks for watching Terry! czcams.com/video/lMcmpDcm46I/video.htmlsi=MD7cFQ14I8nj3n5h
Thank you for making this video. I have been waiting for these to come to the USA market. Have to say im a bit disappointed with some of the quality. I might be tempted if the price was $100 less.
Thanks for Watching!
I will stick with my little buddy, the jumbo joe.
Thanks for Watching!
Those side shelves are weak. Good review!
Thanks for watching Chuck! Agreed
They are extremely weak. We just got our grill from Web the other day and one of the latches on the side table shipping. They are going to have big issues.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully they address it soon
Are the Qs still made in usa?
Thanks for Watching! No
They never were.
Thanks for watching and for the information
Is it worth $400, not in my opinion. Did I buy one using a veteran discount because it has just the middle heating propane tube and I think it’ll do what’s necessary for our particular cooking. Yes. Most of our cooking is roasting chickens in a pan. It’s gonna be perfect.
Thanks for watching! Enjoy!
Tom, that's not a very ringing endorsement. LOL
Thanks for watching Dave! Shelves… don’t know what they were thinking
The Weber 3200 Is far superior to this new 2800 model. Thanks for the review!!!
Thanks for watching Juan!
You must be as paid spokesman for weber
Thanks for Watching Russell! Did you watch the video……
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I'm wondering the same thing if they watched the video.
Thanks for Watching,, agreed
It's not worth the price I bought one. There's a problem with the regulator that didn't allow me to get a full flame. Webber replaced it with another regulator, the same problem. I gave mine away. My cousin had the same problem with his low flame also
Thanks for Watching! Haven’t had that issue
I'd actually be a little less bothered by the price if they would have left the worthless shelves off
Agreed. If I bought this the shelves would always stay off.
Thanks for Watching! Agreed
for that price i rather buy a all ss solaire grill that will last forever and it hits 1000f
Thanks for Watching!
Those shelves……
$400, seems Weber got the memo inflation is back
Tough call, 700’s nice. The cast aluminum isn’t cheap. PK’s are expensive. Is this as good as those?
Hard for me to say.
Thx Tom
Thanks for watching Eric! Agreed
No thank you ...
Thanks for Watching!
Ugh, no cook?
Thanks for Watching! Keep watching….
