    I don't think I have ever seen anyone better in Bournonville, but then again Kobborg is from Denmark... it's just so impressive!

    Alina é uma perfeita bailarina, tem a doçura de uma fada e a singeleza de uma borboleta em seus movimentos.O bailarino também é excelente, parecendo um belo cisne a flutuar.

    It’s amazing to compare Kobborg in this and his jaw dropping performance in “Mayerling.” Such versatility! And Cojacaru is always a joy to watch, a great partnership!

    omg they are SO cute!! They have an amazing tecnique, they make a great team and they can act sooo wel!!!! i love how alina stares at him at 2:24 and he caches her and how embarrased she is!!! PERFECT!!

    I think she's a lovely dancer, and if by cheater you are referring to her shoe brand (Gaynor Minden) that's really unfair. Shoes don't give you lovely arabesque lines, clean jumps or talent.

    they are both so lovely! however it seems to me kobborg isn't following danish lines (ending turns with arms in first etc) but i thought he was danish? even if is isn't (and I know aina isn't) it kind of bugs me when people don't use danish port de bras in genzano. it's a bournonville ballet afterall! yet in anycase they are both amazing, such nice quality and ballon!

    I personally like Evgenia Obratzova's much more, but I heard that this one was more authentic Bournonville and the other was too Russian. I am trained vaganova, so I might be a little biased toward the other, but I'm curious, what makes this more authentic?

      Alexandra Friedman There are specific and very distinctive characteristics and signature steps that make the Bournonville method what it is and you really have to be able to adapt to all this in order to really master the style. The Bournonville method has its own way of doing everything, for example, it's very rare that they use both arms when doing jumps; jumps are usually done with one arm or no arms at all. There's also the special hand position and how they use space.
      Dancers like Obraztsova would Russian-ise Bournonville, which means they don't dance the method as it should be danced. When dancing a method like Bournonville, you can't change the style simply so it suits what you're used to; you have to be able to adapt to different styles otherwise you're going completely against the style you're trying to master.
      Johan Kobborg and Alina Cojocaru are probably two of the best dancers to watch in Bournonville - Kobborg is trained in the Bournonville method and therefore, everything he's doing in this clip is very authentic. Cojocaru isn't a trained Bournonville ballerina, but she must've learned everything she knows about the method from Kobborg, as he probably would've taught her everything he knows.
      You say you're Vaganova-trained? Agrippina Vaganova's original method contained influence from the Danish school because she was trained in the Bournonville method herself - one of her teachers was August Bournonville's star student, Christian Johansson.

      Unfortunately vaganova method is much more soviet than bournonville. Its not even russian traditionnal school.
      Here there are some high extensions from alina which doesn't fit with bournonville style.

    when you preform a professional ballet piece you need those shoes i am a professional ballerina and since you are going to be dancing for many hours its garenteed to wear those types of point shoes :)

      Evgenia is excellent in Genzano festival of the flowers I also liked her partner but she is one of the best dancers of today I'd like to see her dance with Polunin also

    These dancers are terrific but they strayed from the"Bournonville" style of this marvelous pas de deux. Her extensions are far too high and the bent knees in her arabesques don't belong in this style of ballet. I'd love to see them in the Russian classics. I simply prefer the Royal Danes in this ballet, especially Rose Gade Poulson and Alexander Kolpin.

    There is nothing 'amazing' about this. I sometimes wonder if all the ballet comments on youtube are written by 15 year old girl ballet students who know the lingo and can't wait to show off their knowledge of feet, shoes and how amazing and adorable their fav. dancers are.
    See Linda Hindberg and Arne Villumsen (genuinely 'amazing' artists) dance this and then compare to this very unremarkable and quite inelegant performance by these overrated, gimmicky and usually vulgar dancers.
