Our Fun Port day in Mexico | Finding the BEST Food Options on Oasis of the Seas | April 2022 Vlog!

- (Part Two) In today's video it's our port day in Costa Maya, Mexico which is my very first time ever in Mexico. We wake up and head to breakfast at Cafe Promenade for a quick bite to eat and then make our way off the ship. I take you around the market which is full of restaurants, shopping and tequila bars but of course I have to taste Mexican tequila at the tequila factory. We then do some shopping for some souvenirs to take back home and we also check out some of the entertainment that's offered. Since I booked this cruise last minute they were sold out of the fun shore excursions so after two and a half hours we head back to the ship. On this day the water was extremely choppy and that was making the entire ship rock quite a lot. Next we have lunch at El Loco Fresh and then I have a ride on the zip line which takes you right over the Boardwalk and I go on the flow rider plus I attempt to go down the ultimate abyss. Next we spend a good amount of time in the adult only area and enjoy a few drinks with my deluxe drink package. After that we have a late lunch early dinner at playmakers which was absolutely delicious. And then I take you around the ship a little bit more at night after we depart Mexico and we ended up ordering room service for a late dinner and it wasn't good at all. The next day which is our final day on our four day Western Caribbean cruise it's a full day of relaxing, eating and drinking. We wake up and hit the gym and have lunch at Port Side barbecue which was so good! After that we do some more relaxing around the ship and it's dinner time and we enjoy Giovanni's Table for a full din ing review. After dinner we watch the aqua theater show and stop back at the casino. On the way back to the room I give you a quick tour of Windjammer which is the buffet. Finally I end the video with all of my thoughts and opinions for my Oasis of the Seas review. Thank you so much for watching, if you enjoyed this video please give it a big thumbs up! My wife and I did an NCL cruise to Alaska. You have to pinch yourself that it is 70 degrees in July.
The NCL was so relaxing for us. No special dress up nights and a lot of selections for anytime dining.
The quarters machines in the casino stayed busy.
We really enjoyed the Beatles band in the small Cavern Club bar. They played on one of the main stages too.
It was a 4 day cruise. I hope you and Bianca get to take that cruise in your future trips. We would recommend that one.
It was a comfortable size ship and you got a lot of attention.

Pc dev. My wife and I sailed on that Mardi Gras in January. We loved so much my would sail that cruise ship again. But where really looking for a new cruise ship. And by the way we had a balcony bob the Mardi Gras . We we’ll I loved our balcony so much I on a lot. I eat seafood like salmon with my eggs for breakfast. We had actually a free Alcohol package when we went. They had alot of amazing
Comedy clubs. And s as other great shows on that ship. But what we’re seeing on you’re Oasis looks amazing with so many activities like wave rider. . And Starbucks. You and Bianca would love sailing on the Mardi Gras next. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful trip.

You said you and Bianca like the smaller ships-- we just sailed on Grandeur of the Seas and it was great. Easy to navigate and plenty to do. Also, be sure to try Main Dining room when you cruise. The food is great and the service is outstanding. Highly recommend Grandeur!

We were in Costa Maya in 2018..in def is beautiful...we did do the excursion to the man ruins...but we did get back early enough to spend time at the port and use the pool

Thanks for sharing your experiences! We had such a different experience in Dec on Oasis, it seemed to be really well staffed at that time but I guess there were less people then too. As for your preference of smaller ships, I think Oasis class ships need a solid week for you to even scratch the surface of what's available, so I'm not surprised you felt overwhelmed at times. I think it keeps people coming back though, I mean look at us we're sailing on Oasis for another week and there's still stuff that will be new to us which we didn't try from our last trip.
But again, thanks for sharing and helping others. Lots of great information in your video.
Thanks for the information Tom! I agree with you. The Oasis class ships are massive and I missed a few things because we only had 4 days, so I could definitely see a week will be even more fun and not so overwhelming.

Dev I totally agree with your summation of big ships versus smaller ships. We have sailed on smaller ships and felt in control of our vacation. We are sailing in the fall on Oasis and I’m a little afraid I will feel overwhelmed as well. We also sailed on Anthem which is a little bigger but smaller than the Oasis class. Maybe you should try the Quantum class ships. You might like that one as well. Thanks again for your awesome series on Oasis.

Our last time the next Mexico we swim with dolphins we love them in Mexico was so beautiful there that was awesome awesome extras excursion with the dolphins my wife was so nervous but I got to got her to get the nerve to swim with the dolphins with me
I was on this sailing also and I have to agree with Dev on the two points he made. I was dissappointed with the quality of the food. I'm a huge Royal caribbean fan and I'm sticking by them but this particular sailing was different. I was on the Wonder of the seas March 18th and it was wayyyy different. The food was delicious and there was more staff. All in all, I did enjoy this cruise.
Btw It was sooooo nice bumping into you guys in the elevator. I was a bit starstruck but im glad I got to meet you both. You guys are so sweet and I really like your videos. Hope to bump into you guys again either in the parks or on a cruise.

DEV! We are going on the independence of the seas in May and we were wondering where you got your covid tests from? As we are coming from the UK to Florida then getting on at Port Canaveral we aren’t sure where we can get them from. If you like sea days you should book the Queen Mary 2 from New York to the UK. 8 day crossing, all sea days.
I HIGHLY recommend getting the Ultimate Dining Pass. I bought it ahead of time for $160 per person for a 7 day cruise. So worth it going to Giovani's that much

Fun fact it was right there in Costa Maya is where i had my first beer and i was only 17. The whole no drinking age in Mexico took me getting used to lol
I think for ships this big you really need to do a longer cruise. 4 days is just not long enough and that's probably why it felt so overwhelming. We do 7 + day cruises and they are just a whole different experience.
It looks so beautiful! What sucks though, is I am pretty sure a good amount of people on the ship are you know those type of supporters but are hypocrites and go see Mexico and not respect the culture or people.
My Dad and step mom were supposed to get married on the Splendor and we were going on a Mexican Riviera 7 day cruse. Well it caught on fire and we never got to Cruse. I was so sad I had like 800 saved for excursions.
They ended up getting married in Santa Monica, CA still cool over looking the beach, it was nice, and my hubby Neal who was my BF at the time was able to attend. They got married on his B-day nice surprise for him to be able to at least join in CA.

We actually tried the main dining room and it was okay. Lots of dishes lacked a ton of flavor.

For breakfast on Oasis ships you can eat breakfast at Park Cafe.

Yeah I was told about long sleeves on Ultimate Abyss. It rides VERY fast and you could get a nasty burn on your arms. Next time then!
We just watched the cruise vlog. It looks fun. Just had a question if you might do carnival cruises just to compare between the two. Other than that enjoyed the cruise video looks fun

I was sad to see that you never took us to the Main dining room to see what that experience is like. We are going to be on Oasis next week. On 7 day cruise we take to the upcharge restaurant but on the 4 day we will only use the MDR. We would not be able to utilize the deluxe (booze) but we do the drink package for both of us (non alcholic) We also prefer the larger ships but liked hearing your opinion. Cheers!
We went to the main dining hall once on this trip and it was okay. A lot of the dishes lacked a ton of flavor. We usually eat in the MDR when we cruise but the included food just wasn’t good this cruise.

This was our 4th cruise. One disney cruise and three Royal Caribbean cruises. Cruising is just so much fun and it’s the way to vacation.
When we sell it or morning wrong in January there was not a lot of people on our ship and I was a huge chip
We prefer smaller ships too.
There are sooo many additional costs on this ship. I really feel like you are being nickel and dime as soon as you get on board. The food that is included sounds like it was not worth it and they made it deliberately like that just so you can pay extra for the good food.

Yes they do. Called the main dining room
