  • The 39-year-old Wisconsin woman accused of poisoning her wealthy friend with eye drops faces trial for murder. Jessy Kurczewski allegedly dumped six bottles of Visine into Lynn Hernan’s water bottle and tried to stage her death as an overdose in 2018. Prosecutors also claim Kurczewski defrauded Hernan of nearly $300,000 before killing her. Judge Jennifer Dorow, who oversaw Darrell Brooks’ Waukesha parade massacre trial, is overseeing Kurczewski’s case.

      Agreed, it’s refreshing seeing her be so organized and make things clear as day for the jury, after hearing the defense team go on and on with irrelevant/repeated questions. The male State lawyer is great also. And I read that one if the reasons this took so long to go to trial is cause Jessie went through multiple other defense lawyers before these 2…. They don’t have much to work with I guess but still 🤦‍♀️

      I disagree, I feel the State was weak on her integrity & lack of time put into the case. 14 hours is nothing in pathology.

    Oh my. I've just finished watching. I won't spoil for those who haven't yet seen iit. However I will say the defense are skating on the thinnest of thin ice. Very sly and I would say completely unethical. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

    I love this judge. She knows her stuff, pays attention and is always fair. Even if defense pushing envelope she allows. She wants to make sure it’s all fair and above board.

      She was. My heart sank when I saw her sitting in the gallery waiting to testify. Her testimony in the Jensen case was infuriating, she showed such blatant bias. It was great when attorney Jambois roasted her on cross for her bias.
      Although I think the state team in this case are good I didn’t think the cross of Lindsey Thomas was strong enough. I wish they would have asked about the police interviews and jessy admitting to giving Lynn visine in her water bottles.

    Defense attorney Kuchler’s attempt to use her ME’s history in obtaining justice for George Floyd for Jessy’s defense was bad- her confusing Mr. Floyd death in 2020 with Rodney King’s beating in 1991 was worse.

    How bout, why wasn't Jessy there? She was her care taker and knew she needed 24hr care when she was discharged. If she couldn't be there she should have made arrangements for someone else to fill in.

    There was no alcohol in Lynn's system at time of death. So Darow reversing herself is confusing. What about Lynn's rights to live? What about justice for her in death? It was already stated that the drug/chemical in visine was at lethal levels. No other level of any other substance were lethal doses.

    I KNEW she was going to blame some kinda poly-drug toxicity! Easy money. She should be ashamed. I'm sure the other drugs, if they were high enough levels in the blood, didn't help anything, but the amount of that other stuff that killed her was so high it was pretty clear. I thought that first ME did a very thorough job, and I just don't believe this one...but then, who knows for sure?

    The end was interesting the toxicologist hired by the defense attorney’s witness is trying to use tomorrow a case that a judge ordered not to be publish or use. In the exhibit he’s trying to use partial reports. What in the world the defense has used the pathologist today that made a fool of herself hope they paid her enough to retire. If you listen to the judge denying the motion of removing or amending the jury initial instructions about the indictments. If this was a bench trial technically the Judge said state has met the criteria of circumstantial and direct evidence that was a big blow. The defendant had this evil face today. I bet this witness will not be allowed to testify and use any of the defense exhibits unless is a complete report but he’s not suppose to use it based on the gag order.

      Nosy neighbor did not like Lynn to begin with. She is sitting with the Flower lady in court at different times. Two peas in a pod. Jessy was smiling the whole time nosy neighbor testified.

    First of all the ME did list those meds so not as if saying something new as if ME in case was amiss.
    say what you want. The level of tetrahydralazine was very very high all other meds not close to therapeutic never mind toxic or fatal. And the original ME also listed her other medical issues. They are trying to make the ME look as if didn’t list her illnesses but she DID. Wow, glad I’ve never sold my soul for money and lowered myself using my profession to twist things.

    Trying to use this witness to try make state look bad. Refers to interviews. This witness has nothing to do with investigation. Only did handwriting analysis. This defense attorney really bugs me. So sly, sarcastic and at times close to unethical.

      Yes and she was blatantly biased in the jensen case. She refused to acknowledge any evidence that supported the homicide manner of death. Attorney Jambois really got stuck into her on cross and I think she was exposed. I don’t know how these expert defence witnesses sleep at night. They really do sell their souls to the devil.

    Jessy Jessy Jessy - so many lies she gets confused. She puts on top of document that she “rewrote” but then so used to trying to make it look like Lynn wrote stuff she changed her handwriting. So much so the expert found it was not supportive that it was jessys handwriting 🤣🤣🤣. I don’t see how this helps the defense at all.

      Exactly. Also didn’t she say she provided Lynn with her meds before leaving? Who is to say what pills she had given her “ baclofen” which Lynn had an allergic reaction to and had asked the doctor to take her off of.

    I listen to this Nurse Practitioner talk about all this back pain, yet I don’t hear a single word about seeing a Chiropractor and Mental Health Doctor. This Quack & Lynn’s PCP just pump her with meds & send her on her way. They both should lose their licenses and be ashamed of themselves.

      The NP tried to refer her to a pain psychologist which is a mental health provider. Often they look into possible somatic/psychosomatic causes for the pain.

      I've never had carbon copy checks - but I have not ordered them in over 15 years. Imagine the signature was all over the residence so no need to go to the checkbook to find it.

      When my father passed away, his checkbook's carbon copies had nothing blanked out. I remember that specifically because seeing the signature outline reminded me of a time where I didn't want to get busted for having an in school suspension and that's how I signed the form. Unfortunately they still called him.... 😂

    This doctor - so state shows reason for palliative care and was to help her and final decision was that not candidate for palliative care. This doctor says that was THEIR opinion 🤣. Yes not same as yours so you right they wrong.

    So there was support that were different sources so could be Jessy. But it’s confusing. If support different sources actually means doesn’t support Jessy it’s way too confusing way the report worded. But lots of inconclusive. Some support Lynn not writing. So even though defense twisted report it really overall did not help them or show Lynn wrote all the stuff Jessy said Lynn did.

      The fact that most of this was basically maybe it is maybe it isn't is, I'm sure, the reason the prosecution didn't call her. No need to confuse the jury when it really isn't necessary to prove your case. Defense was desperate to find anything because their client talked her way into a life sentence with the detectives. They are asking about what helps their case while failing to recognize it opens the door to ALL of the evidence she looked at as well as all her conclusions. They are trying to confuse the jury. They are desperate and it shows.

      If I was a juror I’d totally forget all about the handwriting expert because none of her conclusions were strong enough. It seemed to be a case of maybe/maybe not so for me the testimony was a waste of time.

    Hmm, not sure state bringing up first ME thinking scene was staged helpful. Gave defense fodder to go into that and the explanation by this doctor was a believable option. To me the scene was obviously staged, but it was a decent redirect.

      These are private attorneys appointed and paid for by the state. I believe this is her 4th set of attorneys, she fired the others. She is impossible. She blew thru the Public defenders office, the rest had conflict of interest with either her, or witnesses on case .
