- Two and a half years into Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Kyiv's troops last week launched a major counter-offensive into Russia's Kursk region. For more insight, FRANCE 24's Delano D'Souza is joined by Peter Zalmayev, director of the Eurasia Democracy Intiative. "I see the intention is to try to get entrenched in Russia's territory in order to use it as a bargaining chip in eventual negotiations with the Russian side", he said. But “the end goal, we don’t know yet” what it is.

I can tell you that Ukraine most likely do not know the end game themselves, they were most likely surprised how easy it was for them and how easy the Russians ranaway /surrendered, i am convinced that the ukranians are just making it up as they go. Even though i hope that is favours Ukraine somehow, i must be host and say that this can go any way for now.

Virtually every story on the Ukraine invasion of Russia, "What is Kiev's Goal" Ukraine hasn't stated what its goal is and commenters are making things up in real time. The propaganda value is obvious, but is there a political or military goal? Maybe there is no military or political goal. Let's fight and then we'll see what happens?

Naw I’m in FL and on our end the story is: we still don’t know exactly what’s goin on, we still don’t know the reason and the advance has slowed but their advancing. We’re also gettin reports of heavy losses on the Ukrainian side.
