Lol you receive the holy spirit through water baptism , that's when your born again, your referring to the evangelical view of born again. When you guys get mixed up with the feeling you get after you accept christ for the first time and repent. But doesn't mean you have holy spirit you need to be baptised with water and the spirit

After my baptism I went through a bit of a spiritual attack which cemented my faith even more as only God can help in those moments! I like to think back on the day of my baptism as a symbol of what Jesus did for me and what He has done through me. Be Blessed!
God bless you russell, I was baptized in the sea in Cornwall aged 24 with my wife. I'm 56 now looking back one of the greatest events of my life. We had a party played guitars and bongo drums and praised God on the beach. Jesus is the way the truth and the life, once you have believed upon him as the Son of God and committed your life to following him asked the Holy Spirit that it might come and baptise you, You are born again your name is written in the book of life, You will never need to look back. may God bless you richly. Russell…I was brought up by atheists/agnostic…& after reading the New Testament, myself, - having first read all sorts of Buddhist & Eastern texts! - I wanted to be baptised, at 24 years. Something very very special happened that day. It is too subtle & mysterious to describe. Something inside my soul changed. It became impossible for me to deny Christ’s values, His Love really. If I couldn’t explain things to people or I were rejected by them, I would just go quiet. My faith was quietly inside me, & nothing ever has or could take this away from me. It wasn’t to do with my will, or my ego. It just was a question of being. I was baptised at the same time as a baby girl. I felt honoured & her parents were so pleased too. I think angels are present, & they become guardian angels if one has opened one’s heart in the right way. May blessings follow you.

Please pray for Russell Brand. He is getting baptized, and I've seen Christians comment how happy they are, but unfortunately, Russell is a little muddy on exactly what Christianity is. I am, too, glad his eyes have started to open, but he doesn't know that baptism is more of a symbolic act, and he needs to first set his eyes on God and acknowledge Jesus as his own Lord and Savior
He has it more right than you. Where does it say in the Bible that baptism is just a symbolic act without spiritual effect? In the opposite. Roman’s 6, Colossians 2, Galatians 3
Baptism with the Holy Fire is. Not water Baptism. That said, I love water Baptisms as a way to publically encourage people to follow Christ. Baptisms are not a spiritual access to God. You get that without any works and by just accepting Christ.

So happy for you Russel! The first day of the rest of your life. I got saved and baptized over 40 years ago during the Jesus Movement and I have not always walked perfectly with the Lord, but I will never look back. No matter what happens, I know God loves me. I think being baptized in the River Thames, is prophetic, that England will be saved!

I loved it when our family got babtised in 2007, it was extremely meaningful to all of us. Our family were so grateful that we excepted Christ as our Savior. My Brother in Law, the Pastor who married me and my husband, his baby brother, Rich and his wife flew up and Rich joined our Pastor, Cliff & they both babtised all of us, it was beautiful and spiritual. You will be so glad you did it. It was a very big deal for me, my family are Mormon, not all of my family, my dad’s family are from Utah, mom was raised Protestant, like her family. She converted to LDS when I was born, I always thought Joseph Smith was a charlatan and a blasphemer, and I didn’t want to be babtised at 8, but my mom forced me, because I was the eldest child & she wanted me to set a good example for my younger siblings. It was difficult for me to do organized religion, but Cliff, our Pastor, teaches that he doesn’t believe in religion, he believes in Jesus as our Savior, I love that, because myself and my youngest son consider ourselves Buddhist Christian’s, we believe in the Trinity, but we don’t find Buddhism to be inconsistent with Christ.

I've heard a lot of people's testimony of their baptisms and there's a wide range of experiences. For me, it was incredible. I had already given my life to Jesus, but I wanted to publicly proclaim that He is my Lord and Savior. As I went under, I was thinking about being dead and buried with Christ and when I came up I rose from the dead with Him and in Him. It was so beautiful!

I asked Jesus to come into my heart at 8 not really understanding “Faith as a child “ I was baptized at 14 to symbolize my dying to self and following Christ. I can’t explain it well but I felt different and I started talking to God and felt He was talking to me-through His Word and that still small voice of His. My Dad had died and God truly became my Father. Keep following Him and read the Bible from cover to cover over and over. Don’t follow any man-they try to tell you what it says-God will reveal to you personally what it says.

I always thought baptism is just a symbolic act but to my surprise a week later my baptism I was delivered from shame in a such a spectacular supernatural fashion it completely changed me. So yeah, good for you Russell ❤
What a wild experience to find this out! I use to follow his discussions on spiritual issues and thought about the same things everything he spoke about I was like yes thats right! And today he was baptized!! I also today was brought to the kingdom of God with my baptism! If that’s not a sign of Gods power I don’t know what is, I had no clue about his baptism until a few minutes ago! We both have walked the same path and at the same time we were brought to HIM! Praise God! He is truly a loving God who will show his mercy upon those who ask!

No one comes to the Father (GOD) except through me" John 14:6. There is always room for one more! It's not just getting baptised. It's confessing your sins, and asking Christ into your heart to be your Lord and Savior, being baptised and commiting yourself into Christ's hands for life, reading the Bible, learning about God, attending church faithful, Christian duties, ever learning about our Lord and Savior and reaching out to others. Satan will stalk you always, trying to worm his way into your lift and chip away at your new found faith. Be strong, and always be in prayer with Christ, for He will never lead you astray. Russell, I've was baptized 19 years ago at the age of 29, in Zante Greece (in the sea). I was brought up as a Catholic but really found and accepted Christ and was born again in 2009. Anyway, I'm telling you this to say that baptism is a symbol of faith and receiving Christ as your Lord and Saviour. If you've done this, then yes, get baptized, otherwise it's in vain. Ensure you follow Christ and find a true biblical church ( baptist/pentecostal). I've prayed for your salvation for a while now, I'm glad that you're finally seeing the truth. Yes. Skip the Baptist, Pentecostal part and read the Bible for yourself, pray sincerely, never lie to yourself or God and you will learn to love/live the truth . Then you might find a “ church” that does the same.
Definitely read the bible for yourself and do it prayfully but remember that no church is made up of perfect people, but sinnered saved by God grace. But ultimately it's about following Christ and as Jesus said we should join ourselves with other believers 🙏
Jesus saved me from great spiritual peril as had been studying with yogis, Tibetan masters, shamans, crystals, witches, Chakra balancing, energy healers, etc The exact moment I was baptized in the spirit/a.k.a. born again after praying the salvation prayer with a stranger the Lord put on mypath, all seeking ended for me. It has been fascinating to watch your transition. In the end, the world will pass away but God’s word - Jesus’ words - will never pass away. Our world is simply catching up to the Bible. All that is happening was written long ago. As a result many are questioning what is actually happening. Prayerfully, it will lead millions to Christ. Baptism is simply an outward profession of an inward change. That change is simply the belief that the only way to righteousness- according to God’s standard, is believing that Jesus died for our sins and overcame death, so that we might overcome death! I have no idea what life is like unbaptised as I was baptised a few months old. I think it must be powerful because I cannot fathom some of the evil things that go on in the world. I can't understand how people can do them. Maybe this is an effect of baptism.

My baptism was definitely THE turning point in my life. Jesus Christ and serving Him became the new priorities. There have been ups and downs but He has remained the faithful constant through it all.

I also wish to caution, for our Lord, though an amazing and loving God, does not promise an easy road. We want to come along. Sharing my testimony beforehand was a special part - for myself and others to hear. I needed a new start. The old is gone. Prepare to come under spiritual attack. Symptoms being low self esteem, fear of man, feelings of rejection and abandonment, loneliness, paranoia. The devil is a lier. But when we go through challenges it brings us closer to God, when we realise we are totally dependent on Him. TAKE THAT PLUNGE BABY ! I got baptized in 2002, I was excited, and a little nervous. But it's a great life. I get a lot of peace of mind/soul from my faith journey. It washes away your sins, but it doesn't make you perfect for life. If your worried about catching something have it done in a Church, you don't want anything to taint this experience, maybe one of the old ones where a Saint was also baptized. I hope your becoming Catholic like me! I heard you have been praying the Rosary. Thats one thing that drew me to Catholicism. Mary laso'd me with her Rosary and never let go! CATHOLICISM IS THE BEST! AND I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!
Christian Baptism is the public pronouncement of you identifying completely with Jesus! Yes, Russell their is the death to life aspect in immersion but also the giving of all you are to Him and He gives all He is to you! The Greatest Offer of All Time from a supremely Loving God!

Wow! So cool! Russell praying for you! My baptism was in the Maria’s river in Montana. For me it was not about a feeling. After my baptism I went through a bit of a spiritual attack which cemented my faith even more as only God can help in those moments! I like to think back on the day of my baptism as a symbol of what Jesus did for me and what He has done through me. Be Blessed!
God bless you russell, I was baptized in the sea in Cornwall aged 24 with my wife. I'm 56 now looking back one of the greatest events of my life. We had a party played guitars and bongo drums and praised God on the beach. Jesus is the way the truth and the life, once you have believed upon him as the Son of God and committed your life to following him asked the Holy Spirit that it might come and baptise you, You are born again your name is written in the book of life, You will never need to look back. may God bless you richly. Russell…I was brought up by atheists/agnostic…& after reading the New Testament, myself, - having first read all sorts of Buddhist & Eastern texts! - I wanted to be baptised, at 24 years.
Something very very special happened that day. It is too subtle & mysterious to describe.
Something inside my soul changed. It became impossible for me to deny Christ’s values, His Love really.
If I couldn’t explain things to people or I were rejected by them, I would just go quiet. My faith was quietly inside me, & nothing ever has or could take this away from me.
It wasn’t to do with my will, or my ego.
It just was a question of being.
I was baptised at the same time as a baby girl.
I felt honoured & her parents were so pleased too.
I think angels are present, & they become guardian angels if one has opened one’s heart in the right way.

Please pray for Russell Brand. He is getting baptized, and I've seen Christians comment how happy they are, but unfortunately, Russell is a little muddy on exactly what Christianity is. I am, too, glad his eyes have started to open, but he doesn't know that baptism is more of a symbolic act, and he needs to first set his eyes on God and acknowledge Jesus as his own Lord and Savior
He has it more right than you. Where does it say in the Bible that baptism is just a symbolic act without spiritual effect? In the opposite. Roman’s 6, Colossians 2, Galatians 3

Baptism with the Holy Fire is. Not water Baptism. That said, I love water Baptisms as a way to publically encourage people to follow Christ. Baptisms are not a spiritual access to God. You get that without any works and by just accepting Christ.

I got saved and baptized over 40 years ago during the Jesus Movement and I have not always walked perfectly with the Lord, but I will never look back. No matter what happens, I know God loves me. I think being baptized in the River Thames, is prophetic, that England will be saved!
Praise the Lord! Being baptized is your declaration to the world you are following Jesus. It is a symbol of washing away the dead life and being renewed in your relationship with your Creator! I think it’s a special moment in the life of a Christian. I know I cried and was overwhelmed with so many emotions , so thankful that God had so much grace and love for me. I pray for you brother. I loved it when our family got babtised in 2007, it was extremely meaningful to all of us. Our family were so grateful that we excepted Christ as our Savior. My Brother in Law, the Pastor who married me and my husband, his baby brother, Rich and his wife flew up and Rich joined our Pastor, Cliff & they both babtised all of us, it was beautiful and spiritual. You will be so glad you did it. It was a very big deal for me, my family are Mormon, not all of my family, my dad’s family are from Utah, mom was raised Protestant, like her family. She converted to LDS when I was born, I always thought Joseph Smith was a charlatan and a blasphemer, and I didn’t want to be babtised at 8, but my mom forced me, because I was the eldest child & she wanted me to set a good example for my younger siblings. It was difficult for me to do organized religion, but Cliff, our Pastor, teaches that he doesn’t believe in religion, he believes in Jesus as our Savior, I love that, because myself and my youngest son consider ourselves Buddhist Christian’s, we believe in the Trinity, but we don’t find Buddhism to be inconsistent with Christ.
I knew he was searching. I’m so happy he found this path. Now I hope his fellow brothers and sisters will support and nurture him in his new faith.

This year I was sorting through my books and journals on October 16th and found my Certificate of Baptism which was that exact date October 16th, 8 years ago! I smiled to myself, feeling like it was meant to be that I was cleaning on that exact day! I really dont believe in coincidence any more!

I've heard a lot of people's testimony of their baptisms and there's a wide range of experiences. For me, it was incredible. I had already given my life to Jesus, but I wanted to publicly proclaim that He is my Lord and Savior. As I went under, I was thinking about being dead and buried with Christ and when I came up I rose from the dead with Him and in Him. It was so beautiful!
This is the greatest, most important decision you will ever make, and it will be the hardest one to hold to. Welcome to the family!

I asked Jesus to come into my heart at 8 not really understanding “Faith as a child “ I was baptized at 14 to symbolize my dying to self and following Christ. I can’t explain it well but I felt different and I started talking to God and felt He was talking to me-through His Word and that still small voice of His. My Dad had died and God truly became my Father. Keep following Him and read the Bible from cover to cover over and over. Don’t follow any man-they try to tell you what it says-God will reveal to you personally what it says.

What a wild experience to find this out! I use to follow his discussions on spiritual issues and thought about the same things everything he spoke about I was like yes thats right! And today he was baptized!! I also today was brought to the kingdom of God with my baptism! If that’s not a sign of Gods power I don’t know what is, I had no clue about his baptism until a few minutes ago! We both have walked the same path and at the same time we were brought to HIM! Praise God! He is truly a loving God who will show his mercy upon those who ask!

It's not just getting baptised. It's confessing your sins, and asking Christ into your heart to be your Lord and Savior, being baptised and commiting yourself into Christ's hands for life, reading the Bible, learning about God, attending church faithful, Christian duties, ever learning about our Lord and Savior and reaching out to others. Satan will stalk you always, trying to worm his way into your lift and chip away at your new found faith. Be strong, and always be in prayer with Christ, for He will never lead you astray. Russell, I've was baptized 19 years ago at the age of 29, in Zante Greece (in the sea). I was brought up as a Catholic but really found and accepted Christ and was born again in 2009. Anyway, I'm telling you this to say that baptism is a symbol of faith and receiving Christ as your Lord and Saviour. If you've done this, then yes, get baptized, otherwise it's in vain. Ensure you follow Christ and find a true biblical church ( baptist/pentecostal). I've prayed for your salvation for a while now, I'm glad that you're finally seeing the truth. Yes. Skip the Baptist, Pentecostal part and read the Bible for yourself, pray sincerely, never lie to yourself or God and you will learn to love/live the truth . Then you might find a “ church” that does the same.
Definitely read the bible for yourself and do it prayfully but remember that no church is made up of perfect people, but sinnered saved by God grace. But ultimately it's about following Christ and as Jesus said we should join ourselves with other believers 🙏
Jesus saved me from great spiritual peril as had been studying with yogis, Tibetan masters, shamans, crystals, witches, Chakra balancing, energy healers, etc The exact moment I was baptized in the spirit/a.k.a. born again after praying the salvation prayer with a stranger the Lord put on mypath, all seeking ended for me. Baptism is simply an outward profession of an inward change. That change is simply the belief that the only way to righteousness- according to God’s standard, is believing that Jesus died for our sins and overcame death, so that we might overcome death!

In the Catholic Church. Baptism is when we receive sanctifying grace, the Holy Spirit begins to dwells within us.
“Grace” means to be always filled with Gods love. Grace is a gift from God and we grow in grace by giving it away. To be a follower of Christ “It is in giving we receive”
The Angel Gabriel said to Mary “Hail Mary full of Grace” meaning Mary was chosen by God to be always full of his Divine love. Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit and the first Christian as God lived in Mary’s womb for nine months.

I have no idea what life is like unbaptised as I was baptised a few months old. I think it must be powerful because I cannot fathom some of the evil things that go on in the world. I can't understand how people can do them. Maybe this is an effect of baptism.

Sharing my testimony beforehand was a special part - for myself and others to hear. I needed a new start. The old is gone.
Prepare to come under spiritual attack. Symptoms being low self esteem, fear of man, feelings of rejection and abandonment, loneliness, paranoia. The devil is a lier.
But when we go through challenges it brings us closer to God, when we realise we are totally dependent on Him. Thankfulness and humility before a holy God are the best.

TAKE THAT PLUNGE BABY ! I got baptized in 2002, I was excited, and a little nervous. But it's a great life. I get a lot of peace of mind/soul from my faith journey. It washes away your sins, but it doesn't make you perfect for life. If your worried about catching something have it done in a Church, you don't want anything to taint this experience, maybe one of the old ones where a Saint was also baptized. I hope your becoming Catholic like me! I heard you have been praying the Rosary. Thats one thing that drew me to Catholicism. Mary laso'd me with her Rosary and never let go! CATHOLICISM IS THE BEST! AND I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!
