  • As I continue my journey into European metal bands I have yet to listen to, it's time for Blind Guardian. They've been around longer than I have and are still going strong. I was very excited to check them out and after hearing this song, I'm ready for more!
Thanks for getting In The Pit! Have a song you think I would like? Leave a comment below and if I haven't heard it, I'll put it on the list.

Oh it was great that you looked the band up afterwards I do know the collabration song it talks about Take To The Sky, it is amazing! Also I think on A Twist In The Myth Stefan from Van Canto was a part of the backing vocals so Van Canto and Blind Guardian are friends, Van Canto has also opened for Blind Guardian before. As for this song: It was on a more thrashy album so he did not sing that hight yet, he got vocal lessons later the impact of that can be heard on my favourite album Nightfall In Middle Earth. As for songs I recommend: Majesty, The Bard's Song (In The Forest) you can even do Van Canto's cover of that song afterwards, I got to recommend my favourite ballad though Skalds and Shadows, Nightfall, Time Stands Still (At The Iron Hill), Fly and lastly Blood Of The Elves from their newest album. I saw Blind Guardian live not so long ago and I loved every second of it, it was like stepping into a dream the moment the intro played for Imaginations From The Other Side.

Definitely worth a deep dive! They are still putting out great music. Check out some stuff from their last album like "Violent Shadows" or "Deliver Us From Evil".
BTW - You are going to get LIT UP in the comments for reacting to the version of this video without "The Bard's Song" at the beginning - LOL!!!!
Speaking of symphonic... Check out "Wheel of Time" or Sacred Minds" or, they have an entire album that is full symphonic (no metal instruments)

Amazing reaction man! I love Bling Guardian and Hansi's magical voice. And yes, he collaborated with tons of bands, if you'll ever react to Ayreon, he's in a few songs there haha. They also released an album in 2019 called Legacy of the Dark Lands, where all songs are performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Hansi Kürsch being the only member of the band to perform on the album; due to this, the album is credited to the "Blind Guardian Twilight Orchestra" instead of Blind Guardian. They have lots and lots of great songs but I think you can check out "The Quest for Tanelorn" from 1992 album Somewhere far Beyond, because Blind Guardian rerecorded and released it again few weeks ago. And the video is a mix of new and old footage, so you will be able to see former drummer Thomen Stauch and even Kai Hansen from Helloween and Gamma Ray. Here is the link, thanks and have fun. czcams.com/video/fvtZ9_EN0xs/video.html
