I'm always surprised when I find so many people have never heard Marcelito
I love your reaction! From an ex-female drummer to another we musicians get Marcelito Pomoy's gift when most people are blown away with disbelief, it's funny some people double check their head phones; some throw them off, i could go on, LMAO. The Philippines is the land of musical talents. Marcelito is truly a gifted singer who never had any singing lesson; yes he is self taught! He was an orphan at the age of 7 who grew up in the streets of the Philippines searching for his family. I do believe God has given him this gift to help him. He used to sing himself to sleep never realizing he has this gift and didn't discover it until the age of 18. Marcelito, who is very humble was also a contestant in America's Got Talent a few years back where he was cheated of being the Champion; people were angry and Simon Powell got a lot of heat for it! He is famous even before AGT and continues to wow people doing what he loves...singing!

Marcelito makes it easy because he can. He is a singing angel on earth. For me, this is his absolute masterpiece, something of crystal clear sung, the bright madness. I can't really think of a second person who can do it better.

What other singer have you heard who's able to sing in both English and Italian but doesn't speak either, can instantly switch from male to female in two different languages while maintaining the uniqueness of the singers he's emulating? Oh, and he's doing it while sitting down! Breathtaking!

Marcelito's story ~
Marcelito's father was incarcerated and at age 7, his mother abandoned him on the poverty ridden streets of a city in The Phillipines. Marcelito would sing to comfort himself when he was frightened, lonely and confused. To survive, he cleaned chicken coops and he sang to the chickens while he worked. With all of that, he remained kind, gentle and humble. When he sings, there is more than his beautiful voice that we hear. There is something special that touches peoples' hearts. Marcelito sings all genres of music in 6 different languages. Amazingly, he has had absolutely no vocal or musical training and is self taught. You need to check out all of his performances on The Wish Bus as well as Time To Say Goodbye from America's Got Talent, The Champions, his performances at The One Magical Night Concert including Never Enough and other performances of My Heart Will Go On, Despacito and him performing Billie Jean and Heal The World. Marcelito is an activist for children, the poor and the elderly providing homes, food and care. He is an inspiration to many around the world.

I still can’t imagine how he did this SITTING DOWN. And he was singing in two foreign languages. Truly extraordinary. He is self-taught. I have heard that there is a Philippine tradition of men singing in two voices, but surely his level of skill and range is rare even there.

A newer video of him is America's Got Talent - con Te Partio. You should check it out. His female voice is much better now. 😯 He was never trained in the beginning. He used to sing in dual voices to the chicken he worked with.

He only finished grade 3 and got his high school diploma through the Adult Learning System in his early 30's. He has performed all over the world, all continents except for Antartica and South America. To hear his beautiful natural singing voice, check out Tagalog songs Pagbabalik and Aasa Sa Awa Mo Ama.
