    Picked up the 121pc Gun metal from Lowes for $99 a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. Really nice looking and functional set. Not a lot of filler bits, and some nice wrenches. Even the case is a little nicer.

    Makes me feel better about me not having the body strength to break a "compact" 1/4 body with 3/8 square 6" flex head rated for 90lb-ft. Sad to see a 3/8 break around 150lb-ft. There are 3/8 torque wrenches rated for 250lb-ft

    Subscribed after watching a bunch of videos, good job. Just a suggestion, get some gloves and a face shield or at least safety glasses so when things start snapping you don't have a piece of steel hitting you in the face. I can tell these videos are going to escalate to bigger things breaking :-)

      The finish held up to the cheater bar and still felt nice. Still interested in how they hold up or tarnish over use and time but they honestly aren’t that bad. They will be a decent set for my 14yr old who turns 15 at the end of the year.

      Just think, the Pittsburgh ratchets demolished this one at over 200 ft. lbs. Icon was up there with Snap-On. These gunmetals are supposedly Taiwan built, yet lost to the Chinese 72 tooth craftsmans. I do know they're building a plant in texas for Craftsman so maybe it'll be worth revisiting, but who knows.

      In all honestly it's not a bad ratchet and the finish is nice. I would compare the ratcheting feel and internals to a GearWrench 120xp. If you can catch them on sale and find a $10 off 50 or another coupon then I'd say you should be good to go.

    , you should check out the Nepros, if you ever get the chance. At least get yourself a 3/8. They're not cheap, an the wife's not gonna be happy, but I think its the greatest ratchet ever made and my favorite in my collection by far.

    Craftsman ratchets never really were that great imo. The old American made ratchets we're sloppy and skipped teeth a lot. The new Chinese made ratchets seem more cheap than even HF Pittsburgh. I've used really old round head Craftsman ratchets which were probably the best made as far as craftsman has made

  • @TrakSpock1
    @TrakSpock1 Před 5 lety +4

    The reason people chose Craftsman tools were: Made In USA, affordable, reliable, and a lifetime warranty. Mostly settling for three out of the four right now but Stanley Black and Decker is turning that around. I, for one, am thankful that I can walk into my local Ace Hardware, Sears, and Lowe's and still find Craftsman tools. And even some of the tools at Sears are still Made in the USA such as the damaged bolt remover kits, the old school screwdrivers, and the pry bars. The new Made in Sedalia, Missouri tool boxes proudly have Made in the USA plastered all over them. Another Trump election in 2020 and hopefully the Made in China garbage will be gone.
