Hey, do you goof/play with the cows at times?
They do seem quite curious/playful at times (like licking the UTV in the Background)
If you do, it would be fun to see a video of you goofing around woth them
Cows are very curious, especially when something is different from normal. Some of them like to play with us.
Hi Piet , great vid 👍 really interested in the chains you have on the acr’s do they also support the milk line to help stop slip ?? Have terrible trouble with our adf system slipping and cause scabs on teats and then the inevitable mastitis ! 🙄😒 we use kick bars to support them but tying to get relief milkers to use them routinely do it is a bit of a job ! Can you buy the chains separately from the rest of the system you have in ?? Thanks Robin 😊
There is one chain that pulls the unit when it's not milking, and the second chain supports the milk hose. The second chain has a weight on it inside the cabinet that allows you to position it up and down. It's a simple design that works fairly well. I would imagine that could be bought seperate. Your GEA/ Westfalia dealer should be able to get them.
Does the auger move the manure to a pit to be pumped out to your lagoon,do you have any trouble with the auger freezing up in the winter?
The auger moves the manure to a central building where our sand separation equipment is. After the sand is separated, we separate manure solids from the liquid manure, and then the liquid manure goes to our manure storage. We've never had an auger freeze. Once it gets really cold, we'll run it longer to make sure it's completely empty before shutting it off.
