It’s not just that Scott helped save the universe from Thanos. The whole time travel plan that brought everyone back from the snap was his idea. If you ask me, I’d say he deserves way more than just a book deal.
Cassie Lang is so much funnier when you remember why Scott is an ex-con to begin with. The guy legit exposed a company for stealing from its customers and returned the money to them THEN he saved her life and the lives of half the planet and wrote a book. That’s more than most of us could do in a few lifetimes!
You know what's irritating? Scott was portrayed as a jaded electrical engineer who fell into and is redeeming himself for a life of crime. They might have pulled their punches making Scott a criminal (making him a Robin Hood) but he was played a tad more straight and capable. Now he's just kinda goofy and dumb. He isn't as inept as he was introduced in Ant-Man 1

His armors were advancing from scrap metal, to assembling itself like in starcraft to transforming around him to eventually nano machines son. However not everyone should have nano suits. Some superheroes would have it and some don't.

I think another big problem is how flimsy they are with a character’s powers. you touched on it like when scott just doesn’t go big when it would clearly help but in the battle with kang, scott, cassie and hope, just a second before his beam was literally vaporizing people. yet scott and the gang get hit with THE SAME beam and just get blasted away?? janet selfishly didn’t tell them about kang so it’s not like their suits could’ve been built with some type of protection from this cause they didn’t even know about him. and I get it, sure, it would’ve made the fight too easy or whatever but why not just make that something the heroes knowingly have to avoid because he’s just that powerful.
