I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up czcams.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.
Dema,
WOW! What a great leg vise. I really appreciate your willingness to share your skills and ideas. The video production is also first rate. I would never have thought of using a scaffold leg screw and can think of other uses (Moxon vise) for the screw. Much cheaper than the alternatives to the many hundreds of dollars for acme screws and hardware for vise building used by other woodworkers. I can't justify that type of expense and find your videos really helpful. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Bob :)
Thank you, never heard of scaffolding leg screws, but I'm now on the way to making my leg vice thanks to you. Cheers!
I've been planning my work bench build and was thinking of making a leg vise too. I also thought about the same video from John Heisz for the screw. You did a great job.
Thank you Keith
Excellent vise! Love the transfer of John's idea to a new use. Right in the middle of a bench build... just found my vise!
Awesome. Hope you share some pictures with me :)
Beautiful Job: I didn't expect such a short video but everything I needed to know was there, I love the K.I.S.S. methodology!! Best 12 minutes I've spent in awhile Kudos!!
Very cool! Especially like the split ring retainer for the screw :)
John Heisz Thank you John, glad you liked it :)
Ingenious! This is an outstanding project. Thanks Dema (and John Heisz!) for the ideas.
Thank you for watching Felix :)
Hello Demas my name is Andres I am 66 years old. I like woodworking. Your work is clean and precise I learn a lot with your demonstrations. God bless you.
Excellent video Dema, one of the best and most useful shop projects I've come across. The time invested for both the vise and the video was well worth it. Keep the projects coming.
+Farmercl's Woodshop Thank you :)
The scaffolding screw was a clever idea. Nice one!
This has to be one of the best videos you have produced thus far! Loved it!
Lol thanks Brian
That came out very nice. I can see from your previous video what was shot at Matt's shop. Great job.
Craig Pereira haha, thanks for watching :)
I enjoyed your take on john heisz's video. I am inspired. Great editing as well. Your videos are easy to watch and easy to understand. Thanks
Thank you very much, I appreciate that very much :)
Very nice job! I knew I wasn't the only guy who thought of using scaffolding leg-screws for a bench vise, but mine is nowhere near as well made as yours. You may have inspired me to do it again! (now I just need to finish six other projects, clean and reorganize everything...)
Lol thanks man. This project sat for a year before I got to actually making it.
Saw this on Instagram initially and was excited for the video to come out. I'll be adding this to my bench very soon. Great video and love the channel.
Thank you Mark :)
Just brilliant from start to finish an excellent tutorial without a word spoken, great to watch and admire the craftsmanship here Thank you Dema's Woodshop
Thank you very much John
This looks awesome, im in ireland and never even thought to use a scaffold leg screw for this!!!
Awesome work Dema, that vise looks amazing on your bench. Great touch adding your logo to it too!
Thank you Zac :)
Ohoho! I love the wheels on the bottom! Great thinking!
Good looking vise. I am just now finishing up one very similar to yours. I remember the one on the end of my Dad's work bench that I used maybe 50 or 60 years ago. I tried to build mine from my memories, came pretty close I guess. I bought the screw and a chunk of hard maple, but the rest was from scrap wood. I didn't plan on the wheel at the base of the leg, but if it turns out I need one now I have your model to work from. Wish I had seen your video before I started, great job, thanks for sharing.JJ
Absolutely brilliant video Dema. Thanks for the great instructions given.
Congratulations on your toys. Whole process is out of my league.
Hi there... Man that was a beautiful workmanship from you heart.... Loved it
What a great project! I think it’s time to add one of those to my bench. Thanks for sharing!
My favorite video and project that you have produced so far!!! Love it!
Darren Hilburn Thank you Darren :)
Bravo Dema
A really simple way to build a great strong vise.
Thanks for the video.
That was awesome.. I am just beginning in the wood work stuff, will be looking for more of your video's.. Thank you for sharing..
Sweet Vise! I really need to build a proper workbench!
Great project!
Chris
I need a proper workbench too! I've got a giant log in my back yard and a chainsaw mill that just arrived. :)
Chris Pine Ty Moser Get to work, both of you
Really nice job. I used a bar stool with a screw to adjust the height but I do like the jack leg leveling screw better. Thanks
Dema, You make some really helpful Videos with no nonsense, I never thought about using a scaffold leveling screw for that purpose. Glad I came across your videos. I am fairly old hand in the shop, but you taught me something. Thanx. Saved me the cost of an Acme threaded 1" rod.
Thank you, glad you found it usefull :)
I really enjoyed the video. It was well put together and though out. Liked the speeding up of the video, the human brain is capable of absorbing information faster than most people can talk or work with their hands.
David Fisher Thank you David, i think people now get bored quickly if the video is in normal speed, so most videos we watch now are all sped up :)
I am new here, I am making a quick release vise inspired by Pask Makes, “Neal” has some innovative ideas. I will be using your concept of the jaws and how they work. I love to see more details on the lower portion of the vice.
Thanks for sharing!
Great idea. I am starting my bench when the wood dries a little more. the leg vice hardware is a great idea. thanks
Excellent work on the project, build, video... all of it!
That really turned out well Dema. I'm sure there will be a lot of folks building one also.
Thanks Guy, glad you like it :)
You got it bro, that was a nice woodworking project, tnx for sharing it with the world!!!
quality piece of work, looks the business. I was looking to purchase the hardware to make a leg vice but this has saved me a a shit load of money, cheers...
Awesome :)
Wow man!! Beautiful work on the Leg Vise!!
McGinn's WoodShop Thank you Jason
Well done. I recently built a large bench vise and used Jay Bates video as a guide. I was looking to build one of these, as an old friend of mine is giving me a lead screw that his grandpa used in a similar leg vice. So, now I want to put it back to use, and this looks like an excellent example that I am planning to plagiarize! Thanks again. Keep up the good work!
+Jess Cretney Sweet :)
Excellent work, Dema. Keep it up!
Awesome job Dema ! It looks and works great
I've been thinking about making something like that for my workbench for a while now. Great video and great build!
Very profession build, love it!
Wow! That was a lot bigger/involved project than what I thought.
That turned out amazing, Dema! Well done!
Thanks Braxton
That's Awesome Dema! This might just be the impetus i need to build my own Roubo!
Great build video Dema.
Nice job Dema, loved the way it turned out.
Warren Downes - One Wood Thanks Warren, glad you like it :)
Awesome legviise build Dema!
one of my regrets when i got seperated was losing a table with knee vises that came from a sulky/wagon manufacturer in the 1800's
you're still rockin' those old Craftsman 19.2V drills... old school.
+Cariboo Custom Woodworks lol yep, but they are starting to die on me so it maybe time to uograde
My dad has those but he bought a new19.2 lithium ion battery from craftsman and he says they operate better than new. You have to buy the new charger as well, but it's cheaper than getting all new stuff unless that's what you want.
I used to have the Craftsman but upgraded to the Makita 18V LXT lithium ion but most are just as good as any other unless you want to break the band on Festool or something.
Cool video, btw.
Hello there my friend ! What an outstanding job on a very useful shop tool.
really nice job,it's given me the drive to make one, well done
Wow man! Home run on the leg vise! Great video too but that vise came out beautiful.
Thank you randy, glad you like it
Pretty slick man! The spalted wood makes it look really nice too.
+Doug Keen Thank you Doug, i like it very much

Great Job , Subscribed, Jay sent me this way glad I looked , Adding this to the project list ! Well after the new bench lol
Very clever. Came out beautiful.
Great execution on a very affordable solution.
Not bad at all Dema, I have some old camper screw jacks I want to do this with but first I have to build the bench, lol. Maybe this Winter when I get snowed in it would be a good time for a new bench to be built in my shop.
you are incredibly talented! !
Remarkably great job! Liked, subscribed and hit the bell! Thanks for sharing.
That is really sharp! I'm sure you will get a ton of use out of that clamp!
Thanks Bruce, I already used it a ton and don't know why I didn't built it sooner :)
Very nice addition to the ol' workbench.

A lot of good information. I've been wanting to make this for a while. Now I can.
+Jess Mcdaniel Thanks for watching Jess :)
Nice! Very well done! Congratulations.
Really cool! That will definitely come in handy
I have been looking for a good video for a leg vise, thanks. In the middle of building two benches and this vise on one of them will be a big help. Don't know about maple though, probably go a little cheaper like maybe gold or titanium.
Lol thanks man, glad you found it usefull , but instead of using something cheaper like gold, send it to me and I'll send you maple for the vise
Will definitely be building one for my bench when it is finished!
Henrys Workshop Awesome :)
Great job, I am impressed!
Great vise!! Enjoyed watching the video too!
