Sad things about this ending is.
When we launched to the space, the Sea Emperor used her last strength to do the telephatic communication to us and died

Every time I see the ending of this game it makes me want to cry. I never played it myself but I've been keeping up with basically since it was first being developed. It's truly an experience to see how far a game goes.
I was in the same shoes as you, I had to pirate the game as it was the only way of getting it while playing on a dirt cheap laptop.
I finally saved up something good for myself by buying a PC and then buying Subnautica at full price to show my gratitude.

There's no way you could just end this player's story! We want more! Their story should not end with them getting home! Lol. How about the warpdrive malfunctioned? Or the ship got more damaged after that debri hit it during takeoff. And he gets stranded in space... goes out to find debri and fix their rocket or crash lands on a (desert) planet? Lol. I hope they make it so we can return one day some way somehow and explore the planet I mean that tech just sitting on that planet alone that gun that can tear through and destroy ships and the alien artificats we either need a sequel or a expansion to return to the planet I hope at least one person agrees with me and this starts a good long conversation.

If anyone reading this has subnautica, make this in freedom mode with only the gantry, then spawn 6-8 sea dragon leviathan & 2-3 reaper levithans from the top of the gantry, spawn them one at a time until they start swarming under your platform, then wait and watch

You have tech which exceeds everything humanity holds, a cure for a deadly disease which may be found later on another planet, life-form samples, a report for the Aurora and the Daghassi, and technically you brought a lot of material back to Earth (would they rather scrape it all themselves)?
All the fleets mankind has (combined!) are worth less than one green cube you (probably) brought back. It's like introducing apes to modern computers and nuclear power plants.
@@justsomeone5314 Not really, if you read the lore, Alterra basically owns everything on a planet the moment you set foot in it, so he has to pay all that debt with labor or research information, which luckily he has a lot since he basically catalogued the entire planet single-handedly. Probably got a promotion in alien research or something.

MC did a lot of work. It's worth a lot of money. Saying that the very actions he made aren't worth money is like saying that everything a carpenter makes out of 1 tree has the worth of 1 tree, or a CPU being worth the materials it's made of if they were separated into chunks.
The amount of sway MC has with his energy-revolutionary items is big enough to create a new company that'll dwarf Alterra. His trespassing on their territory won't be paid for per material, it'll be bargained for purchase or a fine in court.

If you want me to get nit picky the first island you see is the floating island and the second island is the one that harbors the Quarantine Enforcement Platform.

The company will probably clear it since it was due to having to survive a crash, and coming back, having someone like the character would be really useful to train new personel for survival training, he is a great asset for the Alterra Corporation.
You realise that technically, the ion cubes are property of Alterra as well?
It does state that anything you find on the planet is their property... so the Precursor tech is included there.

it is like, from what i get, since we, the player, is from the alterra and is like tied to it? something like a contract may be. so when we gather something, it is not ours, but become a product owned by alterra. thus since you gather stuff, but then used it for yourself, alterra charges us for it. i think, coudnt explain it better, english is not my native. but hope u get the gist of it
Because you are an employee of Altera, the corporation technically is granted full ownership of every item, resource, and piece of alien tech you come across. You are allowed to use these resources in order to survive, but you will have to repay the company back for all the materials you use, at full market value. Not exactly a massive incentive to get off world.
