    That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Most video I see just show how to change the head, but they didn’t include the riser part like you did. Thank you so much!

      This is great news! I always wonder if I make these videos for nothing? Sometimes I feel like nobody even watches them. But I’m glad this one was helpful to a few people so far. Thank you for your nice comment. And thank you for watching. I hope all went well and I hope you got your fire sprinkler head changed out OK? it is kind of scary playing with a fire sprinkler system. Anyway, thank you again for watching. Thank you for your nice comment again and stay strong, strong and healthy. Bye-bye.

      You are so welcome! I always wondered if this video helped anybody? And apparently it has! Things I take for granite and think is easy other people need to know it and it could be a little hard.? But just like everything if you do it a lot it’s easy. But you still need to have respect for the fire sprinkler system. Thank you again for your nice comment and thank you for watching. Stay strong and healthy. Bye-bye.

      I guess you learned something every day. Thank you for teaching me something today. I’m never too old to learn. I’ve heard people do it both ways. So you’re one of those guys that do it the other way. It’s not science. It’s only fire sprinkler pipe. I am a Pipe doctor though. Because these fire sprinkler systems are like a patient. You need to drain down the blood do surgery, and then revive the patient and turn the water back on. Thank you for watching. Thank you for your nice comments. Stay strong and healthy. Bye-bye

    Jim, I came across a main drain valve that had a test option (no inspectors test at far end of system). I’m stuck on how do you get the air out at the end in the system if there is no inspectors test to flush the air out?

    • @JoyCool1
      @JoyCool1  Před rokem

      Unfortunately, there is really no way to get the air out. They do make a relief valve that some people install. But I’ve learned to funny assistance like yours, but there’s no way to get to your house so you just leave it in there. Not a big deal, but seems like it would be. Good luck, Tom. M

  • @Torrque
    @Torrque Před rokem +1

    If the system is newer, as you say, and it does not have a “inspector’s test” drain, does one bleed the air out when recharging the system through the main drain which is right next to the main fire sprinkler riser?
    This doesn’t seem like it would properly bleed the system.

    • @JoyCool1
      @JoyCool1  Před rokem

      Nope. If the system has inspectors test valve at main riser you don’t bleed the air out. Weird right? Fire sprinkler system full of air? Not really. Water will find its way out FAST! Thanks for watching Torrque.

    On smaller buldings(~5000sq ft) will the shutoff that controls the faucets, shower, etc also shut the fire sprinklers off or is there always a separate riser?

    • @JoyCool1
      @JoyCool1  Před rokem +1

      On houses are residential building you could only have one shut off valve to the main house, which will shut off the fire sprinklers. But most fire sprinkler systems have their own control valve shut off valve and drain valve. Good luck.
