    I needed this video for a T-shirt that was only available in a bigger size than mine! I bought it hoping I could kinda take it in, and here I find your video!! THANK YOU for always explaining things so clearly and quickly! I'm ECSTATIC you even included a video for How to Sew A Leg of Mutton Sleeve!!

    This video is fantastic! I followed along and successfully resized a 25-year old concert tshirt. I was so nervous since it couldn’t be easily (or cheaply) replaced if I messed up, but I did each step carefully - watching 3-4-5 times to make sure I got it, and it worked! I didn’t have an actual French curve so I printed a paper one & stuck it to a Manila folder. Instant ruler. I’m starting on a second shirt now. Thanks for the confidence boost to do this!

    You certainly de-mystified how to do this for the T shirt. Question: I have a lot of expensive knit tops that need the same type of adjustments; will the process be the same ? PS I really like the way you make this process something I can tackle and make it happen. I have at least 10 tops that need to be altered.. Great Job! Thanks

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Před 2 lety +6

      Your very welcome. Yes it is the same process but if your cutting lose knit tops I would sew the sides together before you cut the extra off so u don’t risk the knit unraveling . If it’s the shoulders. I would zig zag where you want to cut so when you cut it will not start falling apart. Thank you for watching.

    Do you ever go back and finish the edges with a serger? Also what would help me is if you add what size needle you use, what kind of thread, and what tension setting you use. I'm kinda beginning. THANK YOU! I love this video!!

    My SO went from an XXXL to an XL in three months, so the t-shirt (and all his other shirts) I bought him 6 months ago no longer fits. Thank you for the detailed step by step, especially on the sleeves, of resizing a t-shirt. You are a wardrobe saver!

    Anastasia, you are so awesome! You explain things so well and have such a great energy. I recently hemmed a work shirt based on one of your videos and got to rock it yesterday--small potatoes but I was just happy it came out straight lol. Do you have/plan to make a video on how to hem joggers?(not like sweatpants, but casual pants that have elastic at the bottom!)

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Před 2 lety +3

      All sewing success are awesome no matter how small. Even fixing a lost button is awesome. I’m happy I was able to help you with your shirt for work 💕 Thank you for watching. Hummm I don’t have any joggers to hem but I’ll look for some next time I’m thrifting. Basically u need to remove the casing, shorten the pants & make a new elastic casing.

    I would love to see how you would lower an elastic waist on a ready made garment. I have very short, (4' 10") and EVERYTHING needs to be altered.

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Před 2 lety +1

      I’ll add to to my list but what u need to do is remove the casing & shorten your fabric & then make a new casing.

    I like this method and I'm now wondering if it would work the same for a raglan style top? 🤔 I've got a bunch of band merch that I'm swimming in 😅

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes it does, you are just going up the side seam and under arm seam for a raglan shirt. So skip the shoulder alteration. Thank you for watching and happy sewing.

      @@SewAnastasia I'm looking to take in a longsleeve t-shirt. Could I ask why you wouldn't be removing the sleeves on that style of shirt? The shoulder still lands in the wrong place. Thanks so much!

    Love Hole! Thanks for this tutorial. I had gastric bypass and tons of Harley Davidson shirts that I want to take in so I don’t have to spend so much money getting new clothes to fit me.
    Do you have any recommendations or could you do another video on how to maybe make a template for shirts so it’s easier to bulk do them? I’m trying to think of a way to maybe get some cardboard to do a body template and sleeve template 🤔 what do you think?

    • @SewAnastasia

      You could download my t shirt pattern and find what size you are in it and use that as the templete. anastasiachatzka.com/collections/shirt-sewing-patterns/products/crop-top-t-shirt-pdf-sewing-pattern?variant=40162755936298

    Hi. I have a long sleeve ( it's a sweater cus the knit is small but not a tshirt material either) that is tight around the armpit but everywhere else is fine. How would you enlarge the armpit area. I think you add a diamond shaped cloth in the armpit area but I don't know what it's called so I can't search amd find it. Do you already have a video like that ? thanks.
