In this video we'll talk a little bit about the budget for each of the 2 main backup electric power generator systems which James talks about in this video. Worse they had incorrectly installed the board and generator system meaning it never worked so we had to come in to rescue the project and get the back up power system working for our client. After being without power for a week recently in Houston after hurricane Beryl I had a plumber install a tap on my natural gas line and an electrician install a 30 amp inlet & interlock for $1,000 total then bought a Firman tri-fuel 7500 / 9400 watt refurbished generator for $700. I also built a wood platform & small plastic shed from Lowes to store the generator & hoses next to the inlet. Total cost was just over $2,000 and I have a system that I can get up in 15 minutes that will run all appliances & window AC’s, no storing of gasoline or waiting in long lines after a storm, couldn’t be happier.

fantastic @ZootyZoFo. That's about in the range we see for the portable modular generators which are a great solution if you don't need a permanent whole house generator system. Congratulations to you for seeing a problem you didn't want to have again in the future and being willing to invest to solve it.
