    GUYS! You just dropped $12,000 on a new, state-of-the-art KTM 450 - now what!
    Do you just ride your new dirt bike off into the sunset? Well, you could, for a little while...
    However - you had better take a few minutes out of your day to download yourself on a few bearing grease tips & tricks with your 'ol pal Charles at mXrevival
    I mean, you just dropped $12,000! Why not make your new investment function optimally, and for years to come? I think you know the answer.
    So enjoy this quick, horribly filmed edit and be sure to let me know if you'd like me to film a full-length how to on this topic (with a better camera of course!)

    The last new Honda I bought didn't have the expensive moly paste specified. It looked like Vaseline. I was on the starting line at Hang town and some dude said his linkage locked up after one wash. I always re grease a new bike. I found after decades of racing that filling any air space within the linkage is helpful in wet conditions. Linkage gets hot during hard riding. when you splash down in deep water it cools rapidly, creating a momentary vacuum to suck water in. Back when Ca. races in the rain were OK.

    I just bought a 24 500excf and I’m now thinking about taking a day off and tearing it all apart to grease it

    You'd think with the price of these new they would lube up them parts properly. Not many people would do this thinking it was nothing to worry about on a new bike. Madness.

    I recently pulled my older KTM 250exc tripples off and they were real dry!! Repacked em and now feels much better...but thats more likely cause I torques up the forks properly.!😜

    Back In the day my one brother was racing quads, went through two sets of honda carrier bearings in like 5 months...got the third set , picked the seal off, no grease they were dry ! Hand packed them, reinstalled seal they lasted a whole season and he sold the bike the were still goody. Been picking seals off ever since. You'd be surprised.

    Thanks for the video Charles! On point as always. I've learned a lot from your videos and I've been racing/riding for 10+ years. Always something new to learn.
    Would be so nice if new bikes were pre-greased. My brother's KX250F was basically bone dry (motor oil substance) and my YZ250F had a minimal amount. I just feel like when you spend $7K to $12K on a new bike, the manufacturers could spend a little extra time to properly prepare it. Especially a brand like KTM that claims the slogan "ready to race".

      Thanks Blake!
      That means a lot to me dude. Always learning as well. I appreciate that.
      I agree, it would be nice! The KTM is the best "greased" model at the moment but at least we get to have a little fun with setup and showing the newer guys what to watch out for.
      Thanks for watching 🙌

    I use my Samsung note 9 for all my filming. Phone cameras have come a long ways over the years. I also use a cheap $99 Zhiyun gimbal. Had it for a few years now and it has never let me down. Just have to make sure you are filming landscape and not portrait.

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  Před 3 lety +2

      Too funny, this is a Note 9 too. Clearly not all "on the fly" experiments are good huh! (Portrait / vertical)
      Lessons...
      Really can't believe how good they are though, as you said. The convenience and speed are a direct trade for even better quality and a more thought out camera/ lighting setting.
      I think I'll continue to do the quick little videos with the cell phone / specific playlist for the "quick and dirty" stuff....only held sideways next time 🤣🤣🤣

    New 2024 beta 200rr. Took apart and found that it has some kind of white grease inside. Can I just add maxima blue grease to it or clean off all the new white grease before greasing with the blue?

  • @yzingerz
    @yzingerz Před 3 lety

    Yes please do a step by step. Also I would say I like the other camera better. Mainly because this in vertical so shows up smsller on the screen. Personal preference.
