Montuemhat, fabulously wealthy and powerful, builder of one of the largest non-royal tombs in all of Ancient Egyptian history, was directly involved with the Nubian Dynasty of pharaohs, the Assyrian invasion and sack of the temples at Karnak, and the restoration of native control under the Saite 26th Dynasty.
His life is a far-reaching saga and fodder for an amazing movie if anyone wants to make it.
John Freed, President of ARCE-NY, presents his research on this astonishing life story, at the Salmagundi Club (NYC), the oldest surviving mansion on Fifth Avenue.
