    That is great. But I think you should add triangles at every corner to make it more sturdy.

    Good luck for the future.

    Awesome simple video showing an all metal DIY approach! I think that if I went this route versus wood, I would fill the metal support posts with cement to make it more firm, solid, and maybe less wobbly 🤔

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před rokem

      That's an interesting idea. I've thought of upgrading using triangles or suspension ties. Probably should have used thicker upright poles tbh

    Excellent video, well done, excellent design, this come up on my feed a little too late, I went for timber 6" x 3"s and some 4"x4" as 6" x 6" not readily available and very expensive. Had I saw this I might have borrowed your ideas of the 2 angled pull up bars. I did use the metal store stuff though, much cheaper than timber, thanks for sharing, my design of just 1 pull up bar and dipping bar has cost about 3 times your lol. Thanks again

    Mate congrats on the set up (am jealous! Haha) and thanks very much for hints and tips for making a more rigid one!!
    I’m unsure what to do- you can buy freestanding parallel bars and freestanding chin-up bars, it’s less cool than having a permanent feature though, and would cost me approx £200-300 for a half decent one...
    Cheers for the vid!

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před 6 lety

      Pramonster84 no problem 👍 might make a follow up video if I ever improve it. And tbh it all depends how much space and what you want to do. If you have spacr I'd definitely say go for a permanent set up because it's stronger and would be better if you ever wanted to progress on to freesytle calisthenics or something. But the free standing equipment is still good stuff I think

    Good effort dude, perhaps the down pipes needed to be buried a little deeper. Corner supports probably would not have done much to stop the wobble. Stirling work though, I like it. :)

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey thanks for the feedback 👍 I think I'd use thicker down pipes next time. Or I am tempted to add some tension supports pulling from either sides. I dunno lol just an idea

    @zombrane1116 Před 5 lety +1

    Hi great Video. Adwise Friend here. the bars in the ground are the problem they have to be way thicker than the pullup bars that doesn't count for the p-bars

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před 5 lety +1

      Glenn Quagmire thank you. I did think about that but it was way cheaper using the same material and I couldn't find the clamps that connect different size pipes. I might make improvements to it one day. Got some great cheap ideas to stabilize it

    It's been 2+ years since you posted this video. How has the gym stood up to elements and use...and do you still use it regularly?

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před 4 lety +2

      It's doing really well, not a single spot of rust anywhere. I use it quite regularly still. I would like to stiffen it up with some triangular supports but other than that it's spot on

  • @clickbait1836
    @clickbait1836 Před 4 lety +1

    Great project but I'd be scared using this bars. They are very thin nad long so they are unstable and could bend over some time

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před 4 lety +1

      The bars are very strong. They're never gonna fall down from the weight of a person. Although they're definitely to flexible but a lot of that is down to my design. If I was to use more traingles in the structure it would be solid. Or if you had welded brackets that would also make it a little stiffer

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před 4 lety

      If I were to do it again I'd want to use a large pipe for the legs as it's a bit wobbly. Or you could try adding triangles to stiffen up the design

  • @johanbanella
    @johanbanella Před 5 lety

    All the structure moves when you do a simple pull up.... maybe you should reinforce everything no?

    • @ProjectDriven
      @ProjectDriven  Před 5 lety +2

      Yeah definitely. Not the best design tbh but it works pretty good and it's not unsafe. Just needed to use larger support bars or add some diagonal supports in. Might do a video improving it or reviewing it now I've been using it for ages
