New Genesis Problem AEB Sensor

  • Just encountered a new problem with my Genesis. I randomly keep getting AEB sensor warning. Sensor is clean and connected and also plastic cover is clean. This happened out of nowhere while driving on sunny day. It can last for a few days and also switch to normal in minutes. Very annoying. Can not use cruise control while the alert is on. Any of you experiencing this? Please comment below.

Thank you so much for this video. My abs /aeb light was on, did a diag at the dealer - bought the part from 1A auto and had my mechanic fix it. He replaced the Front left hub assembly. Alert went away 👏👏 no more alerts in dashboard.

Wow. 132k miles and going strong. Purchased my 2018 G80 back in December 2022 and was paranoid because of the 41k miles. But seeing you with 132k makes me feel confident. I Just subscribed👍

Saw your video about your Genesis AEB system. My 2017 G90 also started giving me the same message a couple of weeks ago. I asked the dealership to check it out when I took my car in for an oil change earlier this week, and they said I needed to schedule another appointment to run diagnostics, but that it was probably a bad sensor. The next appointment was not for 3 weeks, so I booked it and am investigating what I can do in the meantime to resolve the issue. I will let you know if I find anything.

Mine turned out to be a bad ABS wheel sensor. Changed it out, and the AEB warning went away.

Picked up my new G70 about a month ago. Driving home from the dealer, 18 km on the odometer, dry and sunny out, nothing on the road ahead of me, three times, a few minutes apart, the AEB flashed a collision warning and applied the brakes. Disabled the system as soon as I got home as I have zero interest in the car deciding when to apply the brakes. Cruise control is now malfunctioning with the same AEB warning. Taking it back for service shortly.

Hello to you all. I had my rack and pinion replaced and took it to Firestone which pulled the codes… 168787, 162587.
Do you think a ABS sensor replacement would resolve this?

I'm guessing it could be the radar module is gone. Only because I had a rear cross traffic alert radar module go (RHS) on my Genesis. It would reset itself but always seemed to come back around the same elapsed time. That was replaced under warranty tho. I think you're going to have to take it in to Hyundai. They can plug it in and tell you if it's faulty.

I had the same problem with my 2015 Genesis. In addition to the AEB warning on the dash, the rear brake lights remain on even when the car is turned off. This also drains the battery heavily! How much did the dealership charge for a new ABS sensor? Is this the AEB sensor? If I try to replace it myself, where can I purchase the part? Thanks
