- An 11-year-old girl appears to be being used as a puppet by the North Korean government to spread propaganda to children.
On her CZcams channel, Im Song-a, 11, boasts her love for the Harry Potter books along with sharing footage from days out in Pyongyang.
“Everything is under control as it used to be and everyone is just fine,” the westernised child says amid reports suggesting North Korea is covering up accurate Covid-19 statistics.
The girl’s broad English accent is thought to have been formed when she lived in London with her mother and diplomat father, Im Jun-hyok, who served in Pyongyang’s UK embassy.

What we do learn from Song-a's channel, in contrast to popular belief, is that some North Koreans study in western countries from a young age, as did Kim Jong-un. A friend of mine in the Germany went to uni with a North Korean girl doing a Master's degree in Nuclear Physics

As a member of the wealthier families, she will be excused from mandatory military service(where young women are often r*p3d by their superiors and live in terrible conditions) and will live a good life as another wealthy family's son's wife (except if someone she is close with screws up badly)

The channel is probably run by the government or at least her videos are checked by a pr specialist. … and they are probably scripted (her sentences sound kind of unnatural for a child her age). So as long as she does what she is told there should be no problem 😉 guess
@@JustMe-12345 This North Korean channel is run by Koryo Media. They had another North Korean channel vlogger, Un-a, "Echo Dprk" but that got blocked by youtube (apparently due to breaking US sanctions).
I bet if this girl slips up even once, the soldiers off camera drag her and her family away into forced labor.

How could she slip up? It's scripted, rehearsed and edited. If you watch some of the videos on her channel it's so hilariously obvious. One of the episodes is about buying shaved ice and you can see that sensitive content is blurred out in the background.

Yeah it’s so odd that they (the adults- even if it’s the government?) think anything she is saying comes off natural for a child!! I’ve watched all of her videos out of curiosity and it’s unbelievable.. truly I mean not believable at all. I believe she lives better than most in NK and has had more fun experiences & definitely food but the way she talks about things.. the way it is filmed.. even most of her actions are not natural and totally scripted. Someone off camera is directing her and she definitely has script.
I had to laugh.. a sad laugh really if that’s possible but she was talking about how much she LOVED going to the hospital because of the cartoons on the walls! As She passes one cartoon figure holding a shot gun.. I know that is normal for them but then she passes more and touches them as if she is entertained by them like toys or something?! It’s SO odd! And the water parks, sure they are neat as any water park is I guess but every single NK video that is propaganda shows these water parks like they are truly so proud.

It’s bad propaganda, North Korea would get better propaganda by just letting song a speak freely and talk without a script like an 11 year old and simply give her a bullet Point list of main talking points. This is entirely propaganda. I watched the children's hospital video..... And she kept making a point about the " cartoon pictures on the wall....." ..... And "my heart was pumping with the desire to go to the children's hospital, just to look at the cartoon pictures on the wall." Kid said she has a corn on her toe and could have gone to a clinic by her home, but wanted to go to hospital instead. Bizarre....

I don't think so. She is a child from one of few rich family in north korea. She's probably doesn't know anything that happen to other child who's born in poor family in north korea.
This little girl went to pre-school with my child in Ealing London back in 2016. Her parents were diplomats at the embassy in Ealing. Funny enough her and her parents are very sweet people. I had no idea her real background until I saw her all over the news. Interestingly I can recall more North Korean kids came to my child’s pre-school.

The way she pauses and how her bio is the exact same thing she said in her first video just seems off. Like its all part of a script. As you can see, both of them are trying to brainwash us, but if you want the best for the North Koreans living there, you’d better opt for their release from the US side.
@@darl1ngt0n_5 yeah but North Koreans are doing a bad propaganda job, they have a habit on going over the top with propaganda until it becomes bad, like if they got this girl just to have a normal CZcams propaganda without a script and instead just a list of a couple propaganda talking points and she just did that then it would be much more credible and better at normalising North Korea. I assume North Korean officials are used to using this type of highly scripted over the top propaganda domestically and it works there and assumes it will work in the west too. They should realise that it needs to be a bit more subtle to be effective in the west
I saw her videos and doesn't this look ermm?? I mean I've seen videos where the kids parents forced them to make contents. So it's not really that weird that she's awkward around the camera and reading lines. But, "it's all under control" why would a little kid say that? I say the NK did a very bad job .
