How long does it take for blood clots to dissolve?

There are two types of clots in the legs that need to be differentiated?
Clots in your veins - That could be superficial or deep
Or
Clots in your arteries
In this video my focus is clots in your veins - The superficial type is not as dangerous if it is small but the deep clot can be life threatening.
The good news is that in most cases blood thinners can help and they can essentially dissolve or break down the clot.
However it does not happen immediately. For some it could take 4 to 6 weeks for others it can take 3 months to even 12 months. Also even after treatment has been completed, your veins can be scarred and show areas of old clots that sometimes never disappear completely.
The key is to start treatment early to ensure your life is not at risk and that it is heading the right way.
