I never was the kind of person who had a favorite artist or band, but Adam Young is my exception. Almost 7 or maybe 6 years ago I got to know his work and liked to listen his music, but was dependent to translation cause my English was not that good. After some years, I could finally understanding the meaning of his songs and understanding what was being said. I couldn't stop listen to his music. It was not only the instrumentals that are different (from others artists), but the lyrics too. Always uplifting or telling imaginatives historys (of course there where some sad songs, like Sillhoutte, or some covers he did, but even them are dfferent lol). I can say with guarantee: his music saved me. I was a person who was in the verge of depression and suicide thoughts, but finding his music and understanding it helped me. I love how he makes his imaginative songs and also praise to God. It was a light in the dark. There is so many famous musics that everyone listen and are always about, uh, bad things... But his music is... Like it paints over those. It paints over this bad world. It paints my environment and makes me feel alive. I will never forget the lines from "Dear Vienna": "I regarded the world as such a sad sight Until I viewed it in black and white Then I reviewed every frame and basic shape And sealed the exits with caution tape Don't refocus your eyes in the darkness And don't remember this place unless I describe all the things that you cannot see And we'll unravel the mystery" This hit me so hard and still does. I don't wanna extend this text anymore - I could talk for hours about others songs like Tidal Wave, Bird With a Broken Wing, Plant Life and so much more, besides his others projects like Sky Sailing. The thing is: Adam Young is an amazing, superbe, awesome, humble person and composier and his music saves lifes. God bless him and his family. Thank you for exist Adam!
