    When I was a child, I heard "Let`s Do It " on our radio, I FELL IN LOVE With this Music! But could not imagine it was a old song! (I was only 4 Years old!) But then I could not find much more of the Music I loved, Until a Friend brought over these strange but surreal looking Records, They were 78`s I FELL IN LOVE With these Record! So I finally got a Bunch given to Me when I was 9 Years Old! Boy You have made these Sound just AWESOME! My Copy of Let`s Do It sounds good, but somewhat muffled, some Harmony Record`s were like this! But the post brings the very BEST out of it! All these Record`s are just BEAUTIFUL!

      Some Harmony's I've got sound the best out of any 78's from the 20's, even better than most Victors. But they definitely made a few stinkers too, some of them sound awful even though they're in the same condition as the good ones.

    Rudy's vocals so well known and please many but the orchestra is also fine - enjoyable medley.

    It sounds like these guys were definitely listening to records by major jazz acts of the day - for example, the piano solo at 4:56 sounds like the Earl Hines style, and the unison clarinet passage at 7:59 sounds a lot like Jimmie Noone.

      ...thanks for that observation -- I couldn't agree more! Vallee's musicianship is underrated.

    The sound-quality i superb! Did they use condenser mikes already in 1929, or were they of the ribbon-type? Or something else?

    • @donaldkgarman296
      @donaldkgarman296 Před 2 lety

      THEY WERE CRYSTAL MIKES WITH ALUMINIUM DIAPHRAMS.

    • @benz185
      @benz185 Před 2 lety

      All these records used the W.E. recording technology that was available at the time, they’ve probably used both condenser and carbon microphones to record these. And no, ribbon microphones at the time were in their development phase and weren’t commercially used 'til ‘32.
      Hope that I helped :D
