    For the longest, I thought moisturizer was the key to great skin. Now in my 40s, I’ve learned that it comes down to proper cleansing, sunscreen and tretinoin. Yes I use moisturizer to soften my skin edges, but it’s a cheap drug store product called Vanicream Lite.

I get my skin dry when i constantly use moistures face cream,seems like it stop the normal production of natural collagen. I am trying to use less products , only when is necessary , i am getting focused on good diet and good amount of water. Preventing growth It’s all about good food, good lifestyle, good sleep. Expensive anti aging cream are so tempting , they ‘ve got such good appeal. Since I started to realise what does really work for a good skin, i keeping away of buying overpriced products, honestly i found lot of benefits from castor oil as a night moisture oil👍☺️

  • @joleenfelio-pettit2813

    I totally agree! I tried using moisturizer when I was younger and they did nothing for me. Not that I'm much older, I started noticing my skin was looking terrible so I knew I needed to do something. I did research and started listening to everything I could find from esthatitions on the subject matter. I haven't used retionals yet but everything I use is drugstore and has aha & bha in them. I just recently started using vitamin c as well. Unfortunately, i have to stay within a budget so higher price items aren't on my "ability" list currently but I'm trying with what I have. I've been doing this for thought 2yrs now and I only do it every 3 days. It has made A world of difference to my skin. I have fewer break outs, my skin is soft, no more flakey dry skin, and I look so much more healthier. I've been doing the vitamin c for about 6 months and I'm noticing my sun damage around my eyes have begun fading. Which I'm super excited for! They were getting hella dark. 😳 I wore sunglasses for years but it never occurred to me that the sun would still hit my skin from the sides. Idky I thought it wouldn't lol but that's where my sun damage is. Thank you for explaining this topic. I will be sharing this with my bff as she has finally decided to start taking Care of her skin as well and was considering the expensive stuff. Good info as always. Love hearing from you and learning more. 💕

That’s a great question, you could use Retin-A but it’s something you would have to be on top of all the time even with sun exposure which can be difficult. Hi, yes you can alternate with the glycolic cream and tretinoin. Feel free to back off of the glycolic if you’re feeling it’s too much. If your skin is advanced enough you can use salicylic before tretinoin. Just make sure that the salicylic is fully absorbed. Hope that helps.

      Hi, yes that is normal and a side effect that goes with the process. You could use more hydration but you purposely don’t want to over moisturize as you want this top surface to slough off. You could always use a little less Retin A if you don’t want as much flakiness.

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  Před 4 lety +1

      That’s a great question, it could be that you have a lot of congestion underneath the skin. Glycolic is one of the smallest molecules that can penetrate deep into the skin which is why it’s so effective in pulling up any congestion and trapped impurities. It also helps with breaking down oil.

    I regret not using under eye cream regularly in my 20s. Do you think under eye moisturizing and other creams do much to prevent wrinkles from forming, or are they more to lessen the appearance of wrinkles and lines that have already formed?

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  Před 10 měsíci

      Unfortunately most eye creams just moisturize which is not enough to stimulate to maintain structure and health. Retinol, vitamin c, peptides, and sunscreen will show best results and actives that work together.

    Anti aging and moisturizers are separate thing that has its own purpose. Moisturizers is to give u an instant moisture, while anti aging works by slowing down or prevent the process of getting old. It can be in any form depends on u. Its just so happen that for u to look young, u must be moist like flower bath in morning dew.

      Of course I’m happy to help. That’s so sweet of you to say. Sorry you are struggling, best to keep it simple and gentle. Acne hates scrubs and fragrance. Adding aha exfoliants will help. I would be careful as anti aging creams tend to be too rich for acne if you’re oily. Lightweight is just fine.

    I'm 54 and broke my arm 3 months ago. Needless to say my skin care routine became limited. So all I focused on was my Retin A , sunscreen,and Glycolic acid products . Wow I was amazed at my cell turnover during that 2 months! I'll never slather my face with all the anti aging creams on my face again. Beauties you don't need them! It took a broken arm to let me see the light. I'm not sure but I think another small factor was I rarely touched my face throughout the day 🤔

      Shalom Grace Hi. I use tretinoin Retin A cream 0.05%. I use this 4 times a week and only on my problematic areas. Alternately I use 15% Glycolic acid pads all over my face, neck, and chest area. I'm starting to experiment with adding another day of the Glycolic pads. I really took time to build up my skin's tolerance. Another thing is when I broke my arm I stopped cleansing my face in the morning. This really helped my dry patches. After 3 months they're virtually gone. I think I was stripping my face of my natural oils by cleansing twice a day. Take care 😊

Vegetable glycerin is an amazing single ingredient that’s fine for all skin types. Helps with hydration and paired best with some water to dilute. You can also make an oatmeal mask and grind up oats to a fine powder, mix with water and glycerin
