Are the 1940 wheat cents with a S mint mark worth much I found it metal detecting here in Australia
I cashed in $20 in 1940s and 1950s wheat cents to my bank to keep the coin roll hunters happy

I’ve done that too. I dumped a lot of wheat cents. Not just 40’s and 50’s either. All dates. I searched them, and didn’t need any for my album… but some good dates and mints. I hope someone was able to use them.
I do that all the time. Just throw the extras that really aren’t the best keepers but still look good. Gotta help the homies out!

I got my 1st 2024D cent in a roll yesterday. Earliest in the year I ever found the new D penny up here in the northeast. I just got the 1st P on eclipse day.

I found a strange penny last week. It is dated 1923. No mint mark. ( p ) ....this coin SHOULD BE a wheat reverse. HOWEVER.... this PARTICULAR penny has a MEMORIAL reverse!! How is that even POSSIBLE!!?? In case you are wondering...NO.... I am NOT looking at the date INCORRECTLY!! The date is EXTREMELY STRONG and CLEAR!! I have ZERO idea what exactly I possess!! It IS weird....but...it IS pretty cool as well!!

Hey guys, what's the oldest coin you ever found? For me, it's 1909.
Coin roll hunting? I’ve found a few Indian head cents. Oldest one was 1888. It’s fun to find oldies like that!

1901 Indian head is the oldest cent...oldest overall coin I've found coin roll hunting was a late 1890s v nickel
I bought some foreign coin grab bag and got a Belgian 2 cent from 1845 in great shape
