- I let my son play with the Thomas TrackMaster Glowing Mine and Classic Trackmaster Midnight Ride playsets. What didn't surprise me was he only really wanted to play with the classic TrackMaster set. He initially played with Trackmaster 2 trains then requested the classic trains that suite the old TrackMaster system. He extended the Thomas Midnight Ride and added a skeleton boneyard Halloween theme. Then made up a series of unusual trains and that's what we see in this video. Dodge helps real steaming James, Subway surfer train via the powered classic Harvey power unit, Caitlin and mixed Trackmaster 2 rolling stock, Green Salty with mixed Trackmaster 2 rolling stock, Mavis has a train battle with green Salty, Belle with two TrackMaster 2 water tankers, Diesel 10 with a passenger car, Spencer with a long classic freight train that uses the Harvey booster help go up hills, Thomas & Diesel glow in the dark trains on the Glowing Mine playset, Thomas Duck Diesel 10 and Mavis train battle. I also investigate the custom Halloween skeletons my son made with cheap Aldi creative graphic markers and Blu-Tac. This crazy custom skeletons soon became a zombie army.

I guess the thing is not that Trackmaster 2 is bad persay, but Trackmaster Classic is simply superior in almost every way.

I felt nostalgia crawling down my back!
One thing I did to help my Trackmaster 2 trains climb the grades of Classic Trackmaster track, was taking the powered unit from classic Harvey and coupling it to the back of one of my Trackmaster 2 Engines. It actually worked like a treat. Especially when I ran Yong Bao, Rebecca or Merlin with the powered unit behind them.
I think the best way to show the Harvey power section is on a totally flat track. I would also say any of the C battery powered trains have a much better haulage ability. That was the advantage to the C powered trains. Trackmaster 2 struggles to do a train of any length, Just no pulling power in it

Nice video once again, Leo! I remember you talking about the T-switch track in the new Trackmaster set (the criss-cross track), and I recently bought a set called the "6-in-1 Builder Set", and it came with TWO T-switches and, get this; A Percy with an EXCLUSIVE face! It really caught me by surprise when I saw it in the stores, and I couldn't help but buy it. Not to mention it also has three different layers for the engines to run on! I'd highly recommend checking out the set, it's really cool.
About the sets themselves, however, I think the glow-in-the-dark concept is really cool, but kind of lacked in Trackmaster 2 until the Hyperglow characters came out. The Hyperglow sets and characters are really cool concepts, and to put it simply, the engines have black lights on their undercarriages that light up the glowing tracks as they go along, leaving a glowing trail behind them! I think they greatly improved the idea of glow-in-the-dark tracks and playsets. Sadly, the only Hyperglow set at the moment is the "Hyperglow Station", but if the trend lives on, then perhaps we'll get more Hyperglow sets!
Sorry for the lengthy paragraphs, but I just wanted to share my thoughts!
Never heard of the 6-in-1 Builder Set, mind you it may never land in Australia. Lots of Thomas stock never makes it here. Thanks for letting me know about that set.

Also I couldn't find those trains. I think I gave away ghost rusty. Maybe the others were as well. The train mod I really miss is Action Thomas that was a Action Chugger dressed as Thomas. But that was won in a giveaway but never seen since. The person who won that never showed it online.

I can't force people to do a thank you video, and some people can't make a video. That custom was called Action Thomas. It's over there in the USA somewhere. I think the winner of that toy lived in NY state.

If I'm honest, flaws of Trackmaster 2 kind of helps, at least with James. It's said and shown that, at least in the classic series, James struggles to climb hills, with Henry outright saying he can't.

I really dislike trackmaster 2 because they just don’t have the same style, and THEY ARE NOT FREEWHEEL! That’s all the fun of toy trains, pushing them around. I’ve rarely ever turned on my classic trackmaster trains, I prefer just pushing them along.
