  • Foiling has changed everything. With so many applications, we find ourselves practicing a lot of crossover sports. Wakefoiling included. One of the most fun aspects of the sport is the freedom of just riding the foil be that on a wave or behind the boat. We decided it would be fun to do a tutorial on how to do this.

With the right foil you can surf the wake of a jet ski. You do not need a wakeboat.

If you have to pump on the foil to stay in the wake, either the foil is too small, the wake is too small, or the rider is too heavy.

What boat wake/wave settings are you running? Any ballast?

Could you possibly do a quick ditty on deep water starts? I never see that part in your videos.

Thanks for the comment! We covered this briefly in another video on our page, here:

Check out the 6:00 mark for the water start section, but if you haven't seen the entire video I'd suggest doing so. Let us know if you have more specific questions. Thanks!

I’m curious what slingshot foil you would recommend to ride second wake back. I’m 6ft4 and 210lb. Would the infinity 76 work or should I go bigger. Would love to know also how you setup the ballast on the boat. I have a 23ft Malibu LSV.
