It's really refreshing to see Dire enjoying the series the way he plays it now. I really enjoy the creative thinking that you have to use in order to solve some problem. I wish we'll get more of this type of series.
Quick tip Dire at 8:11 : Create has its own copy paste mechanics- Schematicanon It it's kinda slow and uses gunpowder to place blocks, but it works works. Furthermore i belive you are at the point in the game where you can use Engine+ Fly wheel to power your stuff. You have to place a somekind of a smelter, like a furnace or blast furnace, place the engine on it and one block after the fly wheel it is stupidly powerfull!. Also also you can use the windmill block to make selfpowered contraptions- what do i mean by that? When you place the wndmill berring and at least 8 wool/sail like blocks it will spin. You can just place 8 wool blocks and the mechanical arms and the saws to make (small) selfpowered tree farm witch will feed into the engine witch will power your stuff. It is reasonably sized and gives STUPID ammounts of power for the amount of work you put into it. Just use a drawer with void upgrade and you have easly scalable unlimited power- you make coal, you void the coal. You can also just place two saws next to eachother so it would use planks instead of wood for to power the engine blocks, and boom you just sextoupleted the ammount of power you can generate in a single fix. Back to schematicano it works very well it also places stuff like glue and belts and so on, only minor bug persey i stoumbled upon is when you place the shaft vertically with a belt to transfer the power- is a bit funky becouse it can place them horizontally and not polace the belt wich will bum things up. It is usefull to make with it a big big big upwoardstackable farm to gain unlimited silver coin production by selling the stuff it makes, wich is a very good (RF) power source with the numezmatic dynaoms, And also ... ITS INFINITE M$LAH, whitch you can use to bypass some of the grind, by using the market... It is there for a reason and can be a big big time saver if you set up it early! ALSO ALSO ALSO: Mechanical cafters have a niche thing hidden in them, when you wrench or click (don't remmber ATM) between the crafters (where they meet) they will conect and will treat all the connected (clicked together) crafters like a single inventory~! So you would need just one input for (for example) the whole ring of stone you need to craft the crushing wheel!! Also i have a small reqest for you- Please look into depot mechanics, and the item luncher mechanics(super NEAT item transport over long-ish distances),and the mechanical arms- they are very usefull and look amazing! . The depo can significently cut the usage of fans in your contraptions for smelting and washing and so on...And it is called BULK smelting/washing for a reason ;) just need to filter it with brass thingymagickas. Oh and just an info you can place the crushing wheels in horizontal pozition with belt inside and they will streamline the process just like other create machines! And its better to use a mill to mill the cobble into gravel and then feed the gravel into the crushing wheels. ALSO ALSO ALSO: there is a block called Rotation Speed Controller whitch can change the RPM to desired value in just one block and a cog wheel feeding into it. Man when i found that out i felt stupid for using killometer long gearshifts :P
you might want to invest in rotation speed controllers, you can specify exactly how fast you want the output to go compared to the input, you can also have it change directions easily, and its in a smaller footprint than using chain drives or normal cogs
You know you can hide shafts with andesite casing for free? Just right click the casing on the shaft and it'll make it look like a one way gearbox. You can also change how belts look with casings too, but it doesn't hide the belt itself. Still looks cooler imo.
Dire there is a speed controller which is much better and easier to use than the adjustable chain gearshift. you have control over the rotation speed and direction (negative speed)
Dire's mindset is so rigid sometimes that it hurts for me to see him instinctively reach for the adjustable chain thingy when he could literally just use a small and large cogwheel to achieve the same goal of speeding up the rotation
While he's started to figure out the automation a lot better, there's still a lot of inefficiency. That's bound to happen though with anyone unfamiliar with the mod -- I'm still figuring it out myself now that it's running properly. My biggest complaint about this series? I understand he tries to hide his "direwire" as much as possible, but the beauty of this mod is being able to see how things function. The gears actually rotate realistically -- you can even watch them and the spokes line up perfectly every time, it's amazing. So Dire trying to put most of the gears, shafts, etc. underground just kind of seems both unnecessary and absolutely not aesthetically pleasing.
you could always put a chute on top of the crushing wheels which you can put a chest on top of, or just send a belt up to the top which dumps into the chute.
Hey to save space and materials you can also build a windmill whose area is 3x3 and 34 high. That would be a vertical gear, a windmill bearing on top of it, a plank on the windmill bearing, around the planks 4 sails (clockwise or counterclockwise) and then the other 124 sails on top of the first 4, so stack each sail 32 high.
Small Tip: water wheels work sideways and so do crushing wheels. oh and when 2 crushing wheels are put sideways, they can crush stuff going through it via belts :D
I had some trouble trying to figure out how to get a water wheel to work efficiently on its side. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard but I just could not figure it out.
@@deedeethedog05 it just takes up less space 1 waterblock should be able to wrap around the whole wheel as long as ther is a block in the side stopping water from going 2 ways instead of one. for example: using a number pad in the shape of a crafting grid you would have the waterwheel in the 5 position (centre of grid), a water source block in the 9 position(top right) and any block that can block water in the 6 position you should be able to get the water wheel turning at a speed of 256 SU and then surround it in a 5x5 wall so the water will follow the water wheel. I hope this helps :D
The best thing about windmill power in Create is that you can build the spinning part to look like a helical turbine. Pro Tip: build a conveyor belt transit system between your worksite and your central hub. Running at max speed, belts are faster and safer than weighted ejectors.
Hey dire just thought you might wana try this but the water wheels can be powered with lava it isnt recommended as you might get caught on fire. And don't forget to take it easy
Shame he doesn’t know about the Furnace Engine. Then, he could use the furnace that is making the charcoal either power that machine, or, better yet, add energy to that other machine! Shame he doesn’t know that… :( Granted, it is only 1024 SU, but it would be much more compact, and useful as just “another source”
31:30 - do you even need the shafts between the drives? The different drives have their own shafts built in so I think you could compress that speed increase chain by a few blocks if you just left out the shafts.
Yes you do need them, because of how the adjustable chain thing works. It doubles the output speed of the adjacent chain drive. Or it halfs it to itself if the input is on the adjecent chain drive. So if you just connected it straight thru, it would remain the same speed
@Direwolf20 one of the coolest things of create is being able to create a build in creative and import the build through a schematic on create to build it in your let's play series
You can only combine generators when their direction *and* RPM match, so I think you "lucked" out there a bit EDIT: Actually it looks like I'm wrong, I tested in a creative world and what I was experiencing was related to rotational speed controllers
watching it just now, therefore reacting quite late but I wonder what is so much better with sleeping bags. What do they do than a vanilla bed does not ? beside respawn point which isn't relevant in that case as Dire is 20 blocks away from his house ?
Only minorly annoyed at the giant belt Dire used to span the back of the crusher wheel builder. All the builders have gears built in, so you can literally just toss a small gear on the right side of the thing, and not need a giant belt running the rear of it. Not a big issue seeing as you should have belts automated and endless, but for someone as majorly into compactness as Dire is, I'm surprised he didn't just daisy chain off the builder.
“above and abond”
I love it when something is abond
8:20 there is the Schematic Cannon as part of the pack, which gives a ability to copy-paste structures.
i was just about to say this too xD
came down here to say this as well lol
I think when Dire tested it in the past the schematic was cleared after pasting once.
@@keab42 It is, but you just put the cleared schematic in the table again and reprogram it.

Quick tip:
*A TON of texting, TL;DR *
Today's lesson:
Don't jump into a crushing wheel.
Don't right click your sword on a andsite funnel.
Man I laughed so hard when he did this.... all I thought was welp, not getting that back!
@@rumplestiltskin3441 i did too 😂
hey dire did you know that you can actually have the crushing wheels laying flat and as long as they spin appropriate direction it will work
I totally added the comfort mod as well Dire. It had saved me like 20 trips into my house so far and like 4 running back.
i know, vanilla is scary, but imagine if dire learned about the magic of scaffolding?
The funny thing is, scaffolding was a mod item before it was added to vanilla. He's used it plenty of times in previous series.

With unique contraptions, come unique Direderps...

@@boydstephensmithjr True but this one usess the Create Theme. lol
I watch these with my traditional tim hortons breakfast wrap and redbull :') good times
8:10 there's a schematic cannon though
you should use scaffolding when building large structures in create. it makes it so much easier
@Direwolf20 if you’re wanting to make the shafts look a little better if you right click casings on them it decorates/surrounds them in the casing
Dire, you can also have the crushing wheels go horizontal, and any items belted into it will get crushed
0:06 Yay, Create Above and Abond, my favourite ;)

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one demonstrating how the crushing wheel can unalive you. I also ate my mining gadget.
30:05 - if you don't shift when you right click it won't break the belt, it'll just give you the shaft back.
Dire's mindset is so rigid sometimes that it hurts for me to see him instinctively reach for the adjustable chain thingy when he could literally just use a small and large cogwheel to achieve the same goal of speeding up the rotation
It's a sandbox game.
I dunno, Dire...I think OSHA might want to have a word with you, about machine guarding, and inherent safety violations. Hehehe...

you could always put a chute on top of the crushing wheels which you can put a chest on top of, or just send a belt up to the top which dumps into the chute.
You could probably connect a furnace engine to your charcoal furnace and in theory IT should work indefinitely
Hey to save space and materials you can also build a windmill whose area is 3x3 and 34 high.
