8,000 views, only 74 like's and 6 comments in 4 years, its no judgement upon Sir John but it shows how even a true great can soon be forgotten. This man had more talent in his little finger than many of the modern day "superstars" have in their entire bodies.

Never!! How can anyone forget John Mills? Not everyone who looks at these will leave a comment. I was born in 1961 and always loved Johnny Mills. Whistle Down the Wind was released/shown the year I was born. Been hooked by his charisma ever since. Since visiting Denham I've been reading everything I can about him. Will never be forgotten ❤️

Although mentioned never was J.M’s height ever apparent just proving how engaging his performances were. It was a time of wonderful British Cinema and fabulous British Stars.

Count me in the camp of Sir John Mills very appreciative admirers! In Hobson's Choice (1954), his wonderful portrayal of Boot Maker William Mossop and paired with the Super Talent of Brenda De Banzie as Maggie Hobson, is the Ultimate in a True Love Story set in Victorian England. Unlike today's raunchy and graphic sex, in Hobson's Choice, an agreement to marry one another was sealed with just a shy Loving Kiss. Plenty of laughter between Maggie's two sisters, Alice and Vicky and of course, Charles Laughton is a constant scene stealer as the cantankerous crusty curmudgeon, "I won't pay for their Marriage Settlements", Father. The intro music is a real Toe Tapper played by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, with everything brought together by Academy Award winner Director David Lean. You will NOT be disappointed by this film...be prepared to see and enjoy it many times, as you'll discover and understand new dialog within their British accents.

I forget the first John Mills I saw, but he clearly stood out to me. I was impressed by his screen presence and thought to myself, "This man has talent," upon seeing him in the role. I was inspired to look him up and learned about the huge career of the actor I had come across.
