The 3.0 CSi formed part of the E9 generation of BMWs. The generation started in 1968 as a continuation of the Neue Klasse (New Class) of models. While those were powered by four cylinder 2000 C and CS engines, the E9 had the engine bay large enough to fit the new straight six M30 units. The 2800 first launched, followed by the 3.0 CS and CSi in 1971. These were in production until 1975. The famous 3.0 CSL also appeared during this period.
The Majorette casting was produced for four years in the seventies. It could be found in a wide array of body colours, window colours and wheel types. However, like a lot of the metallic Majorettes of the time, as soon as a bit of a scratch from play wear appears, the rest of the paint follows suit and flakes away.
During my restoration, I thought that my paint match was one of my most accurate yet, particularly for a layered clear over silver finish. There was thankfully little else wrong with my example but that didn't stop me from trying to polish and perfect that baseplate.

A good restoring for this awesome old vintage diecast majorette 70s.

Beautiful restoration. That era of Majorette is my favourite. I love the details in the casting and the simple but working suspension. I also remember the gaps in the opening features in some of the cars, but that doesn’t apply only to Majorette

Thank you for the description of the vehicles as you work on the models. Awesome idea and much more interesting than most restoration channels.

Very nice restoration Jason!!! Color is sharp, but the grille details really make it pop. Love these older Majorette castings in the right hands.

Awesome resto. But have you thought of getting another one and going full customs? Wheels, painted interior, multicolor flake paint, lights in paint as well as details like hood ornament and such. You have the skills for it and would bring these to next level

It’s a case of using what models I have to hand. I’ve got drawers full but very few duplicates to do two at a time. That said keep your eyes peeled for a couple coming up!

looks great again, the red is way deeper than the original. well, they had to paint it in one go, after all. :)
it could also be interesting to put this model side by side with the matchbox, while switching the typical colours. from the looks of it majorette made the model too narrow, while MB might have exaggerated a bit far. they still are pretty detailed by themselves.
