2 things: 1: remember people, it's not that all cops are evil people; it's that evil people have GREAT MOTIVATION to become cops. Imagine the horrors if that woman became a cop, now realize that is exactly why she wants to be one. 2: Never, Ever demand an apology. A forced apology is worth NOTHING, even if you get one. You can say you were hurt and why, but unless someone apologizes on there own, it's useless.

Yeah that makes sense. If I wanted to act poorly or maybe even become an actual criminal, joining the police would seem like the safest bet to stay out of legal trouble. Also 100 % true with the apology thing, if someone is not truly feeling sorry their apology would become a completely meaningless formality. Don't apologize for anything unless you're truly sorry and don't demand apologies from anyone who does not feel sorry.

Story 5: I feel for the sister, but she was out of line. You can't just assume someone would give up that much money and a chance at getting pregnant that easily. I think it's terrible her stepson is treating her so poorly but it'd be better for everyone if she worked on her relationship with him instead of trying to replace him with a new child.

Story 1: Wow, and that neighbour actually wanted to be a cop. That woman and her bf are complete pricks... and using the drunk card is the weakest cop out (no pun intended) here. I'm honestly really surprised nothing physical happend here, especially when the woman said "Got a problem, do something about it" to the OP, as i know that a lot of people totally would have. I'm pretty sure that the OP's essay, along with that woman being a drunkard and apparent animal abuser/neglector, was the reasons why she isnt joining the police there..... why on earth would they remotely want someone like that working for them? You can be assured that someone like that would abuse their power. Screw that woman.
Story 2: Crohn's Disease and other ailments aside here, this is probably the dream of every school person; getting a teacher in trouble for not allowing someone to go to the bathroom. This teacher should've been fired, not suspended. Another case of someone who has absolutely no business being around children, much less teaching them. OP shouldn't feel bad at all.
Story 3: Sounds like this old bat needs to be sent to a nursing home.... or at the very least removed from the apartment board. She is clearly just abusing the system here and complaining over literally nothing. I absolutely love the fact that the rest of the tennants there started to make as much noise as possible, just to spite her.
Story 4: I just don't understand why people, especially old men, just can't accept why women can't be in fields that are stereotypically run by men. A lot of women are better at some of these jobs then men. Some people need to accept that its the 2020s, not the 1950s and things have changed.
Story 5: While i understand the feelings and disappointment from the sister about not having kids, I don't think the OP is the jerk here. The OP isn't obligated to give the sister money for her own IVF, those things are very pricey. The sister seems to be very entitled, bratty and overall annoying. I dont know what things are like with the stepson behind closed doors, but i think more isnt being told here with him. I think the sister needs to get over her sour grapes here and leave the OP alone.
Story 6: The OP should've rejected the brother the moment he found out he both was only a handyman and uninsured. Those are 2 huge red flags that really should've been raised here. The OP had every right to cancel this time and the wife is a complete dullard for suggesting the brother do the work. I get not wanting to "punish" the nieces/nephews and parents here, but the OP deserves to have the house back in proper order, and need the money for it. I would totally expose the brother for his bad work and bring it up to the family. The wife is being extremely unreasonable.

Story 1: the neighbor can cry all she wants about not getting to be a cop. It was her own fault for being a drunk, leaving her dogs out and calling a disable child that word. Glad she's not patrolling the streets because she might have potentially shot someone with her attitude and stupidity.
Story 2: I'm surprised the teacher didn't get fired because of this. As the principal said, "the school could have gotten sued for this." The teacher got suspended which is fine but hopefully she will understand not to deny a disabled person's needs.
Story 3: good grief, the old lady should have know that there will be a lot of noise in an apartment complex. Having complete silence is almost near impossible in that environment. At least the neighbors are having fun making this lady's time miserable after the constant noise complaints.
Story 4: so just because she's a girl, she doesn't know this stuff? Wow, just wow, screw all of those guys who brushed the OP off. I can tell that women can do this kind of work just as well if not better than men can. Gender shouldn't matter for any type of work.
Story 5: while I do feel a tiny bit bad for the sister, she was asking for lots of money to have a kid of her own. That's an immediate nope right there. I'm glad the OP and his wife made the right choice in doing the IVF treatment and got their second kid but the sister needs to back off. I think the sister might have something to do with her stepson not liking her but we don't know. The sister needs to get over it and you know maybe try to adopt a kid. Why do they always forget that is an option?
Story 6: the OP's wife was an idiot, no doubt. She and the OP knew how the wife's brother was like and he had no insurance but they went with it to try to save money. Oh boy, that backfire immensely. Now they have to pay three times the amount to have their house fixed and have to take it out of the trip. While I feel like the wife is being a bit unfair and kind of gaslighting the OP for saying your going to "punish" our nieces and nephews over this. TBF lady it was your stupid brother's fault that this happened. If anything, your brother should pay for the cost of the damages and to repay them for making everyone miss their trip. The money to repair the house has to come from somewhere after all. I know the wife was trying to help her brother out but it ended horribly for their house.

That neighbor in the first story wouldn’t have made it or even lasted long on the police force, with that sort of attitude. It would have only been a matter of time before she said or did something she shouldn’t have, and gotten fired, and that’s assuming she could get past the psychological exam typically given to police recruits which picks up that sort of mindset in them.

Look at my text, Stargazer, and read the *ENTIRE THING.* If the teacher was crappy, the entire school is crappy. They didn't even let you explain the situation on your teacher not allowing you to use the restroom. Nevermind the teacher. The Principal is to blame here. He should be fired. Not only did he expell you for obviously false claims, but he also almost killed you 2nd degree. And don't get me started with the Psychiatrist! I can't imagine being drugged 3 years straight. No one deserves to go through that. It sucks that we live in a world where principals expell students for little things and give minor punishments for more extreme actions. Maybe the principal needs psychological care. There's no way any mentality stable person would believe such bogus claims from this Karen when you basically just have to pee, especially after she threw you into the seat. Thanks to him/her, your life is completely ruined. Your parents should've just taken you to a private school instead of giving you a psychiatrist, although I still blame the principal. Like, did you really have to expell a kid for not using the restroom before her class. Despite being low on detail, this story has disgusted me beyond repair. I mean you can literally tell how much you've been screwed up because of the substances. I really hope that you somehow recover in some shape before you kick the bucket, even if it is in the absolute slightest. I support you 110%, and I really, REALLY, *REALLY* hope that being given these types of medications on daily streaks lasting this long become illegal. There was clearly nothing wrong with you, and both the teacher and the principal knew dang well that you were most likely gonna perish if you seemed a psychiatrist. Hopefully, both of those bums got fired by now, and if not, in the near future. I cannot live in this world another day with either of them employed. In fact, they should be behind bars for their crazy actions. Thank you very much for reading to the end, and I hope you can seek actual mental attention soon. New subscriber.

Story 5: If op's Brother-in-law needs financial help then give it. Don't give him a job that A) Less ideas on how to accomplish, seeing that it was true in the end and B) not insured. Op's wife should be thankful he isn't suing his ass for all the damages. Or is that what she wants seeing that she is so concern about the trip with family. Either you use the money to have a stable house that you can live and survive in or sue him for the money need it to make the repairs. I know the wife has no clue how to fix it and just seeing a small picture of something that revolves their living arrangements. Since it was her idea, she needs to tell everyone that was going on the trip that the trip is off and it was "her" fault. Boom, she falls on her sword so that her brother won't be in trouble with everyone. You better believe that I will not be blamed for this disastrous idea if I was op. Also, shit happens that leads to not having enough money to go anywhere for that year. Get over it lady. Op tried to be reasonable but you just have to be a bitch about not having the family trip you wanted. Unless you have money that op doesn't know about, then get off your high horse and accept that your home comes first before the trip. If she blames op, then he should point out A) It was her idea to hire her uninsured handy man of a brother to work on you house and B) he cause all that mess and C) now there is no money for the trip because all the damage in house that they played a hand on cause. There, now everyone will just hate the wife and her brother instead of just say something happened that led to them needing to repair the house. I am pretty sure that people died from mold exposure.

I got called the R-Word by someone I knew in High School. He called me that word 5 times and I chucked a Hacky Sack that had sentimental value to me which he proceeded to throw in the trash can. I then lost it and proceeded to choke him out. We were then encircled by other students chanting “Fight, Fight Fight,” I continued choking him until he said he would get my Hacky Sack out of the trash. He then started walking the opposite direction and I grabbed him by the collar of his jacket resumed choking him out until one of the yard aides pulled me off of him and started scolding me at which point I’m sobbing and explaining to the Yard Aide what had happened. The other student is talking with the football coach and the Football Coach is scolding him telling him that he crossed a line. He was going to let the incident go since he instigated the problem. When he got home his mom brought him back to school and reported the problem to the Assistant Principal and said that “I had Attacked her Son For No Reason.” The Assistant Principal then told the Campus Police Officer what happened and the Student’s mom pressed charges against me for Assault. I was taken to the police station for the city where my High School was Located. Now Normally I’m a pretty mellow guy but if you press the wrong button I will drop all pretenses of being mellow and go on the Attack but anyways back to my story, So I’m at the police station and I was fingerprinted and photographed and then put in a holding Cell with another student who was taken to the station for fighting while I waited for my mom to come get me. My mom was teaching her class of kindergarteners at the time when I was at the police station. I had to wait for her to go on her lunch before she was able to come pick me up. Am I actually the jerk for lashing out at this student for him calling me the R word repeatedly? Keep in mind I graduated from High School back in 2006 and this happened my Sophomore year.

So the new teacher story, I have a similar story that could relate
So I had a health teacher during my Freshman year of High School who is allergic to graphite (Pencil Led)
She automatically grades ANY assignment a 0 if written in pencil. I had an IEP back then that says "I NEED to write in pencil due to dyslexia and have a pencil to paper issue", meaning I'm erasing mistakes often. The teacher wanted to use the argument that her medical condition to IGNORE a student's IEP and refuses to compromise (The Compromise was to have another student grade MY assignments separately) Her excuse to that compromise is that it's not fair to the other students and that I could have been good friends with the one who would grade my assignments
Parents threatened to bring the issue to court since it was in MY IEP that I have to write in pencil. The final compromise was that I retake Health class the following year with a different teacher entirely. Because of that **** of a teacher, I apparently failed the Drivers Adept test (I scored a 75) and had to take it again the following year (75 again and apparently that counts as a pass that time)
Last I heard, that teacher was fired for her blatant discrimination against disabled students

Story 4 reminds me of something. Not my own story but a former colleague in IT-Helpdesk told it: Before I joined she was working on another project for a different customer. One day one of the customers' employees called with an IT-Issue and refused to talk to her. He requested to speak to a man and he wanted her to transfer the call to one of her male colleagues. We can't transfer calls and she told him that (and even if we could, we have no way of knowing who is currently busy with other calls or working on tickets or whatever). He got rude and again demanded to speak to a man because a woman could not possibly help him. She then informed him that if he is not willing to let her help with his problem she would hang up the call, which she then did, and informed her team leader about it too. The guy ended up getting in trouble with his employer due to this behavior.
Story 5, I think both are jerks. She has absolutely no reason to demand that money from them, but they also didn't need to say it straight to her face when they knew that it was a sore topic for her. If she had just asked there would still be nothing wrong with it, but the story kinda made it look like she didn't just ask, she demanded it and wouldn't take no for an answer, so that's why she's a jerk. But then they knowingly take her on a family gathering where they announce that it worked and essentially forcing her to pretend to be happy about it, knowing full well that she's extremely bothered by the fact that she can't have kids of her own, now that's just rubbing it in, like, in a big way. Completely unnecessary. So yeah, no really good person in this one, they're all jerks.
6th story: yeah absolutely nothing wrong with cancelling the trip. They planned it, they had the money for it, now something came up that ended up costing way more than expected, so the trip has got to be cancelled or at least indefinitely delayed, no big deal. Could happen to anyone. The fact that it's her brothers fault should not have any influence on this decision.

Day 5 of asking for these stories because I cannot post on reddit, my parents don't want me on it, (rightfully so,) but I have a couple stories, and I really want to get mine into a video.
Crazy Lady From my school wants Me to leave the bathroom because a smaller kid peeked under the stall, and I got mad.
So, for reference I was in the 5th grade at this point, and I was in the bathroom minding my business, doing... what you would usually do in there, when this kid smiling runs up to the stall and peeks under, I yelled in both Suprise and anger. he was probably in about 2nd grade, so he should've known better at this point.
I was in the downstairs bathroom, because, at the time the upstairs bathroom was gross as hell. A lady nearby says: Hey! stop yelling at little kids you are older! You have lost your BATHROOM PRIVEGES. I'm sorry, What?!?!! Schools are so controlling. I denied and told her what happened. she did not care at all. She continued to count down to call the principle over this. she came and ended up acting really chill (which is not usual) and waited for me to be done. I asked for her to be talked to, (I really just wanted this lady fired) but I don't think she was ever punished, nor the kid.
Am I the Jerk for yelling?
Random karen get mad for me saying excuse me. This is a rather short story but I will tell it anyways, I was at the arcade with my dad. And this lady and her baby was in the way of the claw machine That I wanted to use. She wasn't using it I think she was just changing a diaper. I politely asked: "Excuse me"
I lost, and we moved on bu. She went through the effort to go all the way around. And yell and: Excuse me!!!! with her horrid breath in my face.
Am I the jerk for- Nah.
Crazy principle won't hear that I that I zoned out. So I was just getting done with recess and kind of just put a Hulu hoop down on the ground.
And the Recess duty, Asks me to put it away I zone back in and ask her what she said And she was already calling the office over this. I told her that this was a misunderstanding and I zoned out And she said that that was somehow worse! I got sent to the office, And had to wait for my crappy school lunch for like an hour more than my classmates. Someone finally gets inherent of course. It's the vice principle who's always Super mean for no reason. I just explained what happened and she said. Okay, are you never explained it again? That it was by accident and it might happen again. I'm not one to just lie, And say it will never happen again. Just cause they want me to. But she kept repeating like a broken record player and Kept saying do you understand?? do you understand?!?!?! Am I the jerk for zoning out

I have Endo to. and there is such big chance of getting miscarriage. and its extremely hard to get pregnant. some have it easier and some have it worse. But she should not have asked for the money or be rude about there second child

If I start dating and I take care of 90% of the problems and I ask my girlfriend if she can make me a sandwich if she says no I might break up with her like I do 90% of everything yet you can't make me a sandwich once

Why are people so sensitive, getting all heinie hurt over words? Sticks and stones, etc. There are so many other things going on in the world that actually matter. Get over it.

@@155chipmunkz How is it in any way discrimination to call someone a name? They are not being denied access to goods or services or being physically harmed due to ethnicity, skin color, etc. As I said before, sticks and stones. Are you not familiar with this saying? In the larger scheme of things, someone being called a name, especially when the person it's about didn't even hear it and wouldn't have known what it meant even if they had, doesn't matter squat. If being called a name is all you have to worry about, you're leading a pretty golden life, so GET OVER IT!!!

@@nadinesharp9766 First of all, calling someone the r slur is hate speech, so yes it is discriminatory. Second, I have PTSD, so I can’t just “get over it”. You’re being extremely rude.

@@155chipmunkz As my mom would've said, you're fuller of sh** than a Christmas goose. Calling someone retarded is not a slur, nor is it "hate speech" or "discriminatory". Retarded is a medical diagnosis, not a slur. Just because you supposedly have PTSD in no way means you can't "get over it". If you "can't", it's because you're not making any effort to improve your life. You seem to be extremely self-centered and unable to grasp simple concepts nor change.
