Today we take a look at one of my favorite video games of all time as we celebrate 15 years of the Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction!

fun fact in the comics the Hulkbusters are a military organisation dedicated to hunting and killing the Hulk the name isn't something exclusive to Iron Man or only Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor even though that Iron Man armor is awesome definitely one of the most iconic Iron Man armors

It's insane how many people haven't heard of this game. So underrated. OMG I'd love a remake :O
With the Activision blizzard deal coming to a close for xbox there is speculation xbox will grow its catalog of games by bringing back old franchises such as prototype. Well considering the people who made this game will be working for Microsoft it would be a no brainer to remake this game!! Just think about it. Playstation has spiderman and wolverine, so xbox can be like well we have the freaking hulk. It makes since "the most powerful console ever" xbox is GREEN. It's too perfect!

I can never forget the blonsky files on Blonsky himself where all he does is just recite "I've seen the color of my soul... and it's black." over and over with a black and white image of him just holding his head obscuring his face. The music cuts out during this so it gives a sort of otherworldy vibe to it.
Or the one before that… just an outstretched hand, no ambient sound, Bruce saying: “He’s going insane,” and just the pure darkness in your room late at night….

Matt Mcmuscles did a video couple weeks ago talking about this game he talked to the developer of the game where the developer said they had ideas to do a bigger sequel of this hulk game as well a spinoff based on the ultimates comics with playable characters including captain America Iron man Thor and quicksilver I am so sad none of these actually happened it could have been great
The main reason why I think Insomniac should make a new Hulk game after Wolverine is because I have always considered Spider-Man, Wolverine and Hulk to be Marvel's big 3 in the days before the MCU and I also think Hulk deserves his own game after seeing how the Avengers game didn't do him justice!
Or let someone else have a chance to make a Marvel game instead of giving Insomniac a complete monopoly on the franchise.
They should do a hulk just because it’s the og big 3 of marvel and should stay with those characters

This game absolutely rock! This game is for radical's first hulk game what DMC 3 is for the first DMC; it's just ridiculously how they evolved their formula between those two games.
If anyone ever want to craft another great superhero game from the highs of the past like insomniac did with Spiderman, they should do with this game. It already have most of the good designs choices that a proper hulk game should have, they just need to be polished and expended upon with today's game's technology advances.

@@beemaisterreviews1623 Because, they designed this boss fight around this upgrade in the first place, rather just gimmick. And they did a great job overall!
With all due respect, I love his performance in the "Hulk vs" shorts and in Avengers EMH. I also find those to be among his best work

This was the first game I ever got on PS2 as a child, and I absolutely loved it. And I still love it to this day.
They really need to make a new game based on this one the same way Spider-Man PS4 took the best bits of its PS2 game.
Exactly, Marvel's Spiderman was an up-to-date Spiderman 2, we need the same for Hulk UD
God we need a remaster of this game I mean seriously it’s to cool to be forgotten (this is a long shot buuuuut I’d like Thanos (with no Gauntlet) to be a final boss maybe the story could play on World War Hulk somehow)
9:40 frantic recovery alone is the best
I had this on the GameCube and I loved that they brought back Neal McDonough from Hulk: The Animated Series from the '90s!
Fred actually voiced the Hulk in The incredible Hulk along side with Lou, he also voiced the Tank from Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 and you can hear the resemblance between the two monsters. Fred tatasciore is an amazing voice actor srsly.

what i loved about this game was the use of the devil hulk persona he was frightening and cool like he should be

I can't imagine what would be possible in a sequel if the devs focused on physics, soft body physics, destruction, etc... instead of raytracing and other bullshit.

I'm currently playing it on a PS2 emulator, it hasn't aged a bit, my third superhero game ever

I fully agree with everything you said in this retrospective except for one minor detail we both hate that second to last mission but mine was because I couldn’t stop him in time but I was playing on a higher difficulty
16:04 another useful upgrade is the elbow drop, that does some damage especially higher you run up a building

What an excellent vid! Pretty much touched on all of the reasons why this game deserves the praise it gets, you just don't get these types of open world action adventure games that focus on the sandbox anymore

You forgot to mention the most expensive thing you can get. The savage banner skin. It lets you play as Bruce with hulk powers. It’s really funny. Little dude going around throwing tanks.

I wouldn't have known one of my favorite villains in shows and movies had voiced one of my favorite heros. Just nuts!
As a Hulk superfan, no game will match the experience I had playing Ultimate Destruction.
Fun fact: You can trick the threat level system. When Hulkbusters die, the catch on fire and spew two things of hp. If you pick one up after it explodes but before it releases the HP, you can run around and cause complete havoc while holding it and nothing will happen
This game is perfect. The controlling it so free. It feels like you like you can release any stress with this
I actually had a dream last night where I found it in a store. Then today my fiancee and I went to a retro game store in my town and we found it for ps2 for 33 dollars. Total score
Would love any remake of this game or if Insomniac makes Hulk the 3rd major title they make. Imagine after the Wolverine game. He fails to prevent the destruction of a city, only one man can go into said city because of the radiation..bring the Hulkbusters back so he can take on wave after wave after wave on the PS5.
I don't know, I never found for my self pre-last mission that hard. Also, because, when heath drops to minimal, you can perfome one critical stirke. After that, just run away from the enemies fire until health is restored.

Remember I got this game for my 10th birthday. Had 25 bucks cash and a 25 dollar Toys R Us gift card. The game probably woulda been 40 elsewhere but I don't regret paying Toys R Us the 50 they charged. I still have it and play it a lot. It was WAY better than the 2003 game. An open world Hulk game that lets you run around and even destroy buildings. Shit was amazing. Also the fact that they went to a junkyard and recorded the sounds of them breaking stuff to get the sound effects really shows the dedication to do Hulk justice
Finally get to play it for the first time, and I'm loving it, so far. Playing the GC version on Dolphin, and it runs so smooth

I think the reason why Fred Tetasciores performance is different is because the context is different for the marvel projects hulk and the agents of smash is a kids show and marvel vs Capcom is a fighting game not really a character or narrative driven action adventure game like ultimate destruction also just so you know voice actors are given directions for what type of performance is required from the directors of the projects
This has always been up there with Spiderman 2/PS4 and the X-Men Legends games as the best superhero games. I'm pirating this right now and watching videos to see if it is like I remember. I want to show my kids, but there's no modern equivalent or remaster.

I really loved the prototype games (the best super hero game for me) I finished the recent spiderman and infamous on ps4, and now I'm looking for something new to play. Thx for this hidden gem thats seems to be made by the same guys who make prototype, and seems to feature similar gameplay. Im going to try this game.

Honestly, I'd LOVE a good remake of this game, as I still have it on PS2. I would particularly love something that would be a combination of a remake and expansion, where we get more diverse enemies, like the Wendigo, the Leader, Sasquatch, and so on, as perhaps additions to the story and of course bosses before the final fight with Blonsky/Abomination.
That, or a remake of this game, and then a sequel that features a whole new story that also includes that stuff and more. All of that, with today's graphics and better physics engines? Forget about it, that would reach SPACE in terms of popularity. That, and today's crazy world, gamers could use the catharsis of a game like this. Oh, and let us play and feature She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, that would both give a unique option for gameplay, and boost sales...you know what I mean (wink). I agree Red Hulk would be nice too, and maybe even feature a costume option as the Dark Hulk from the 1996 animated series, I think a lot of fans would like that.
One thing I really respect about this game, along with the excellent gameplay, is that they did something a bit like the later _Arkham_ games and took characters that existed, and gave them unique spins for the game that actually _work_ like how they changed things for Hugo Strange in _Arkham_ and the Abomination for _Ultimate Destruction_
I'm always happy when an adaptation manages to actually do something different and make it work well, rather than do something stupid.

As a kid, I reallyyyyyyy loved this game. Thought it was really fun, addictive, the graphics were reheat (for the time) and the combat was so good. Please remaster it! Could be so scary and epic.

Honestly i was hoping in endgame hulk would have a second round with thanos and wins than says the quote "hulk is the strongest there is." It would been awesome especially what happened prior in infinity war.
I played this game when I was 4 or 5, and I haven't played it since. It's such a great game the fact that there is no remaster is weird to me.

You made some mistakes with Devil Hulk. The first comic version you showed was of Guilt Hulk, and neither is really Brian's irradiated form. Guilt Hulk is just how Bruce perceived his father.
