- Coming into college knowing you want to go to dental school can be a bit overwhelming! Today, I wanted to walk you through what you should be focusing on during each year of undergrad in order to prepare for dental school! This is a broad overview of many pre-dental related topics. Did you complete Organic Chemistry 2 and General Chemistry 2 before taking the DAT?
Yes! I took general chemistry 1 and 2 during my freshman year, and I took organic chemistry 1 and 2 during my sophomore year! I then took the DAT the summer after my sophomore year!
@@doingdentalschool Did you take both Microbiology and Biochemistry? If so, which do you recommend taking first?
@@lewis6178 I took both courses during my junior and senior year! I believe I took biochem before microbiology, but I don’t think it really matters which one you take first! Both are prerequisites for many dental schools around the country!
@@doingdentalschool one last question😂 do you feel as though general chemistry 2 and organic chemistry 2 were necessary to do well in biochemistry?
@@lewis6178 no worries! I definitely think general chemistry 2 helped me understand biochem! Organic chemistry 2 also helped me, but not as much as general chemistry 2!
