All the images are made in Midjourney AI with a little touch of PSD here and there where was needed. I hope you like it. All my thanks go to Denis Dyack and his team that made the game.
The game holds the same name and music was the ost of the game.
I know there is a whole debate regarding AI art but I can only be fascinated by the beauty of these pictures! This is amazing and despite the obvious retro vibe, it looks so much more creative and impressive than what we can see today. I just love it!
The way I see it is that it is at least s good tool for creating art. You generate a bunch of images that look beautiful, yes, but you also can arrange them and add music and you have a form of art. I don't consider myself an artist but i consider a kids drawing an art piece, just maybe not high art but low one nonetheless. And another thing is see some works of nature as beautiful as art, canyons, rivers, rocky shores, forests etc. And what does a photographer do? He takes a picture of it with high end expensive camera and that is considered art. So I think it's a tool and a great one if I may add.
And regarding the look, I think you have to let the mind fill in the blank a little bit to feel more real and magical. If you over saturate creation with details (be it visually or story wise) you can drown the immersion. And that's why I think that old style works. Less is more and poorer can be worthier.

Erstens ist man durch die Spiele, daran gewöhnt,
zweitens, gibt es Figuren
(z.B. Raziel), die sich anders garnicht darstellen ließen und
drittens, braucht man dann keinen total überschätzten Hollywood- Hampelmännern, abertausende von Dollars zahlen, nur damit sie den Film, am Ende, doch in den Sand setzen, weil sich keiner, von diesen selbstverliebten Promiäffchen, je die Mühe gemacht hat, alle fünf Teile, dieser Serie durchzuzocken und sich auch tatsächlich, auf die extrem komplizierte Story einzulassen!
I love these games and wouldn’t like to see them as live action movies. If it were to happen though, I think the dark 80’s fantasy aesthetic would work well for Blood Omen.
I think so too. The aesthetics would be immensely important. But I'll tell you a secret... I'm working on something that is in my opinion better then the movie. Stay tuned and subscribe eventually i will anounce it.

@@JMObyx Soul Reaver is extreamly difficult to do and look decent at the same time. I tried it and it doesn't work. If I figure it out I'll do it.
As for the labels, I have another project on the way so people would know who is who.

Interesting take, but it's got the struggle to separate fledgling Kain from a Witcher look. I do wish he could've had more discerning vampiric features, beyond the pale skin and stark white hair; he's meant to stand out as undead, without a human guise, but the basic aesthetic Kain receives post-resurrection looks like he still blends in too well in his basic form.
Beyond that complaint, this has been a delight to see! I am just glad that Legacy of Kain still receives attention, even as of 2023. 🖤🦇

I completely agree with you! I think it works by taking what images it gathered from the web and goes from there, so if you mention a white long haired man in armor guess what images it's going to get first 😉😄. I personally like everything about the original look from the game, but alas, we do with what we are given. I am very pleased it was a delight for you to see. I really think this is a classic that will never ever die (no pun intended 😉) because it is the story of the human character and soul, and an excellent one, for that matter! We just have to play the part of the heart of darkness, and keep it alive in it's state of temporal death.

@@labelledamedumanor4876 Hey there! Thank you very much! Well, if you think if Kain was converted nowadays, I think it could be very interesting. And yes he could very well team up with a human hunter. Maybe even with a vampire slayer, to be even more of a twist. I think creativity comes from creating a "problem" in writing and working around it afterwards. It's important to make something different.
Has more of a 70s-mid80s era look, but yeah, AI is really coming along.
man kain just looks to much like the witcher in some of these pictures. I thought the ai would make him look more monstrous but there are some real gems in here like kain vs William, Malek's corps and arial holding the cards was cool. shame it didn't give her, her skull face.

Thank you friend. The moments you mentioned were particularly difficult to generate because they are so important to the story. I inserted the cards my self. I found the skull face to be impossible to generate. The best AI could do was to split the whole image by the middle and make one side normal and other a skull. So I settled for the artistic freedom of the 80s movies by hiding the secret in the shadows :D So, if you know... you know. As for witcher, well Denis Dyack said that Kain was inspired by Elric of Menlibone and so was the witcher, Geralt. So their look is forever inseparable.

@@gothicart5623 illustrations and whatnot and I just like vintage style fantasy and scifi llustration like Frank frazetta, Brian froud and Michael Whelan. Plus old movies like Bakshi, Conan, Legend, Labyrinth, Excalibur and anything that Harryhausen did effects for.

Just taking into the FMV craze, and it would have been, everything else was there already.
I honestly don't know if it would. Elric saga existed long before kain and it wasn't done in movie form (sadly). So we have to make our own stuff.

Both of them are inspired by Elric of Menlibone. Also Nekron from Fire And Ice looks almost exactly like Kain.

Thank you very much! I completely agree about the style. CGI didn't come close enough to replace practical effects because the light bounces off differently with real objects than in CGI, and the human eye can tell. I'd love to do Medievil if I had the time. And many more games. We'll see.

After going through Baldur's Gate 3 and seeing how better technology has gotten at translating acting and cinematography videogame I'm convinced Blood Omen needs a remake ASAP. Same story and exploration, maybe fit the combat a bit since it was the weakest part of the original game, get as many of the original VAs as posible.
I agree, but sadly I don't think it will happen. I don't see the theme or the gameplay as something AAA companies could sell to "the kids", even if Denis said he wanted to make a game for adults. But who knows, miracles can happen and it costs nothing to hope.

Even today you have hand made products that are much more expensive than the factory ones. I think human seeks the human spirit in all its flaws because it connects us. Just like this work of art of a story.

I wish Denis can get the rights again of this franchise because he is the true father of kain and nosgoth
You indeed put a lot of effort here but the result is poor. Blood Omen world is very specific and can't be replied just with some random pictures.
The facial features of Kain, as well as his armors and weapons, are very specific too. Ironically, if u want to represent Kain in real life, then you have to look at the man who gave him his voice: Simon Templeman. He quite resemble him. Adding a cleft chin, more pronounced cheekbones, frowning eyebrows and, obviously, white/grey hair pulled back with a slight receding hairline.
But my advice is, don't ruin that masterpiece, who should stay where it is. It's almost perfect as it is. I believe that very few people would be able to do it justice.
I admire and share your passion for this franchise and this game in particular. You obviously adore this game to the point that you think that nothing should be changed (and believe me i do too.) However i consider this to be A: just a little fun fan art project that i can share with people who would also enjoy it, and B: a look at what someone could have created in 80s or 90s. There is a reason why people take artistic freedom in creating something and changing it in some way but the core of the story should remain. As for the technical part, you don't chose anything when making an ai generated images. And you definitively cannot chose faces. Today you can but back then you couldn't. And even if you could it would require so much effort that no one in their right mind would be willing to do for free.
Anyway, i think that fan art like this is important as it brings people to the source which is the first game,thus keeping the franchise alive in memory so maybe one day someone would sit down and really do it justice (as you said) and make it exactly as it is (but i honestly doubt it).
