Innovation is all about new vision.The world is changing very fast,unless we take control over change by changing our concepts and thinking ,we will be overwhelmed.This talk takes us through the journey of Prof.Arun Tiwari and his ideas about innovation. Arun Tiwari is an Indian missile scientist, author, and teacher. He has written several books and co-authored 5 books with former president of India ,Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, including his most celebrated autobiography Wings of Fire.
. He developed India's first Titanium air bottle used in ‘Trishul’ and ‘Akash’ missiles and designed Airframes for both the missiles.
In 1992 Dr. Kalam mandated him to develop civilian spin-offs of Defence Technologies. Following this Arun Tiwari developed India's first Coronary Stent with Cardiologist Dr. B Soma Raju well known as Kalam-Raju Stent. Arun Tiwari was awarded the Defence Technology Spin-Off Award in 1998.
Arun Tiwari has recently led an interdiciplinary team to develop India’s first Air to water generator to help solve problem of safe drinking water in remote areas and sailing ships.Productionised by Bharat Electronics Limited(BEL) this innovation will be a game changer in solving the acute problem of safe drinking water in South Africa.
